Description

The present invention relates to a motor vehicle seat whose backrest is articulated on the seat, the inclination of the backrest relative to the seat being adjustable and lockable in certain angular ranges, thanks to a special mechanism commonly called "articulation".
The general principle of the seat joint has been known for a long time, for example by the documents FR 2 599 684 or EP 0 770 514. It is based on meshing, with a ring gear, of three grains angularly spaced apart by 120 °, this meshing being disengageable thanks to an axis of the articulation actuated by a handle. In the disengaged position, the grains are closer to the center of the articulation and no longer mesh with the ring gear.
Since the adjustable inclination is only useful over a more limited angular range than 120 °, and it is also advisable not to be able to lock the seat outside this angular range, it is known, for example by the document FR 2 659 604, to provide on the toothed crown of the joint non-toothed sectors, where the grains will not be able to mesh. For example, it is known to distribute each sector of 120 ° of the ring gear in a sector actually notched 75 ° and a smooth sector of 45 °. The upper notched sector is shared on either side of the vertical, for example between 65 ° to the rear and 10 ° to the front; this notched sector is therefore followed towards the front of the smooth sector of 45 °, itself followed, at an inclination of 35 ° on the horizontal, the beginning of the next notched sector. It is desirable in some vehicles to be able to retract the seat by bringing the file back to the shelf, horizontally. The user must then operate the handle of the hinge pin and simultaneously rotate the folder forward; once the inclination of the latter makes it pass into the non-serrated areas of the joint, that is to say between 10 ° and 55 ° beyond the vertical, the user can let go of the handle because locking the chair is no longer possible. But this lock becomes possible (beyond 55 ° in the example given) before reaching the horizontal, so that the user must again operate the handle in the last part of the operation of setting tablet, to prevent locking the chair before reaching the retracted position. Moreover, it is difficult for the user to accurately estimate this horizontal position, so that the file can finally be locked in a position that is not the absolutely ideal position. The object of the invention is to overcome this difficulty and to allow the user to release the handle when he retracts the backrest, at least over the entire final part of the maneuver and allow the lock exactly in the desired position for retraction, in principle the horizontal position.
This object is achieved according to the invention by means of a locking device for locking a seat hinge comprising a locking mechanism disengageable by the rotation of an axis of the hinge, characterized in that the device comprises a cam linked to the backrest, the profile of which is intended to act on means of driving in forced rotation of the hinge pin from a first angle of inclination of the backrest forward and to stop acting on said driving means from a second inclination angle forward. Thus the user can release the handle as soon as he has passed the first angle, and the backrest will tilt without locking to the second angle.
The first angle may be chosen to be less than or equal to 10 °, or otherwise it may be chosen at any value equal to or greater than the entry into the notched area of the joint (but less than the entry into the sector notched next). The second angle is advantageously chosen equal to 90 ° to ensure accurate retraction horizontally. In this way, the folder is placed directly at the end of the race forwards in the ideal retracted position, without the user having to resume the handle.
The device of the invention and the forced rotation drive means are external to the joint so that a conventional joint can be used and adapt the means of the invention.
According to one embodiment, the forced rotation drive means comprise a set of rods whose end of one is rotatably connected to the axis of the articulation, and whose end of the other is linked to an organ pushed by the cam of the device.
The member pushed by the cam advantageously circulates in a guiding light. This is formed in the wall of a guide piece secured to the seat; this wall may be provided at a slight distance from the application surface to the seat to house between it and the seat the set of rods. The guide piece may comprise a journal surface in a part secured to the backrest and to cap the guide piece in the vicinity of the axis of the joint. This piece advantageously forms said cam at a leg.
Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the following description of an exemplary embodiment. Reference will be made to the accompanying drawings in which:
-la figure 1 est une vue en perspective éclatée d'un mode de réalisation du dispositif de l'invention.FIG 1 is an exploded perspective view of an embodiment of the device of the invention.
-les figures 2 à 4 sont quatre vues de côté au voisinage de l'articulation des brancards latéraux d'un siège inclinable équipé du dispositif de la figure 1, les figures 1 à 4 correspondant à quatre stades d'inclinaison.FIGS. 2 to 4 are four side views in the vicinity of the articulation of the lateral stretchers of a reclining seat equipped with the device of FIG. 1, FIGS. 1 to 4 corresponding to four stages of inclination.
-la figure 5 est une vue schématique des angles d'articulation prévus selon l'invention.FIG 5 is a schematic view of the articulation angles provided according to the invention.
In a manner known per se, in particular by the documents cited at the beginning of this description, the articulation between the backrest and the seat of a seat is obtained by a hinge mechanism consisting of two round flanges that can rotate between them, one of the flanges being secured to a fitting connected to the seat of the seat, said seat stretcher 1, and the other flange being secured to a fitting 6 linked to the backrest. The relative rotation of the two flanges is prevented in normal time by a locking system consisting of radial serrated grains carried by one of the flanges and coming to press radially against a ring gear formed in a circular shoulder carried by the other flange and provided with notched sectors and non-toothed sectors. The radial grains can be simultaneously disengaged from their meshing with the circular shoulder by actuating a mechanism controlled by a hinge pin 2 carrying a maneuvering handle (or connected to actuating means). Maneuvering the hinge pin 2 thus makes it possible to rotate the two flanges relative to one another and thus to incline more or less the seat back relative to the seat, and the relaxation of the hinge axis causes the grains to mesh again in the circular shoulder and fixes a new position of the backrest, unless the grains are then in front of a non-toothed part, in which case the inclination of the file continues until the grains are again in front of a notched part, the arrival and blocking position being approximate.
The device of the invention aims to automatically exert, during the inclination of the backrest in certain positions, a positive action on the axis of articulation to prevent locking in position. The device of the invention fits on the stretcher 1, which is L-shaped with a horizontal branch for attachment to the seat cushion (not shown) and a vertical branch whose upper part 3 rounded and provided with a border houses the mechanism of the known type of articulation having substantially a disc shape. Holes allow the solid attachment of said mechanism. The axis or hinge pin 2 protrudes from the stretcher 3 to form an end portion 4 of non-circular section (for example square) so as to be able to receive in interlocking an element intended to maneuver the hinge pin 2. One piece guide 10 is fixed against the outer surface of the vertical branch of the stretcher 1 being maintained on the one hand by holding means 36 which will be described later and maintain the piece 10 around the tip out of the axis 2 which enters an opening 11 of the guide piece, and secondly by an assembly rivet 12 passing through the holes 5 and 13 of the stretcher 1 and the guide piece 10. Around the opening 11, a circular rib 14 is formed to receive in rotation a cam member 30 described later. Finally, the guide piece 10 comprises at its center a guide light 15 in the form of a gun whose tip is directed towards the opening 11. The light 15, surrounded by a beach 15 ', is formed in a wall 16 the guide piece 10 which is offset forwards with respect to the wall in which the fixing hole 13 is made, so that when the guide piece 10 is fixed against the stretcher 1, there is behind the wall 16 sufficient room for housing and moving other flat members of the mechanism of the invention, namely a rear link 20 and a front link 21. The front link 21 is a simple short arm having a light towards one end 22 intended to engage with play the tip 4 of the hinge pin 2 so as to be integral in rotation, and towards the other end a hole 23. The rear link 20 is in an arc and has at its ends holes 24 and 25. One bank holding t 26 passes through the lumen 15 of the guide piece 10 and is fixed behind the hole 24 of the rod 20; the rivet 26 is held projecting at the front of the slot 15 by means of a friction ring 27 which rubs on the beach 15 'surrounding the slot 15. A rivet 28 and a washer 29 come together in articulation with the link 20 and the rod 21 by their respective hole 25 and 23. A cam member 30 is secured to the fitting 6 of the seat back by means of assembly rivets 31 and holes 32 in the cam 30. The piece 30 has a shape flattened Z-shaped so as to form a part 33 in contact with the fitting 6 of the backrest situated at a different level from the parallel opposite part 35, these two parts 33 and 35 parallel to the fitting 6 being separated by a perpendicular part 34. The part 35 caps the guide member 10 and maintain it in position through the cooperation of the circular rib 14 and an orifice 36 into which it is introduced with clearance. The portion 35 comprises a cam lug 37 defining a cam profile intended to cooperate with the retaining rivet 26 disposed in the slot 15 of the guide member. The shape and function of this page will appear from the explanations that will be given in connection with Figures 2 to 5. Figure 2 shows the seat in the comfort position, as shown by the slight backward tilt (25). °) of the backrest fitting 6 with respect to the seat stretcher 1. In this position, the cam lug 37 is directed downwards and does not interfere with the retaining rivet 26 which is at the right end of the seat strut. the light 15 of the guide piece 10. In FIG. 3, the seat is in the extreme forward locking position, with the fitting 6 inclined forwards (for example 10 °). The retaining rivet 26 is housed in a recess 38 of the left profile of the cam lug 37, just before approaching a ramp 39 which moves away from the axis 4 of the part 30. To approach this ramp, it is necessary to firstly operate the hinge mechanism by the rod 4 which has the effect, by the play of rods 20, 21, to send the retaining rivet 26 to the opposite end of the light 15, on the left, as shown in FIG. Figure 4 and make possible the rotation of the seat.
The mechanism being unlocked, the seat can be folded further forward as shown in Figure 4; in doing so, a circular portion 40 of the cam tab 37 succeeds to the ramp 39 and maintains the rivet 26 in the left position in the slot 15, that is to say in the unlocked position of the joint, even if this one the grains of this one are in front of a notched sector of the articulation. The grains do not mesh since the mechanism is unlocked, and the seat does not lock in this position but can continue its race to the position shown in Figure 5 where the seat is horizontal.
In this position, the cam lug 37 suddenly offers a hollow profile 41 to the rivet 26, which, at the end of the plate 40 therefore falls into this hollow profile and comes, under the effect of the elasticity of the articulation mechanism, regain the right end of the light 15 and thus relock the hinge mechanism. The grains can then mesh with the toothed sector they have in front of them, and the seat is locked in this tablet position, exactly horizontal. To return the seat to the upright position, it is sufficient to maneuver the rod 4 to unlock the mechanism and, the maneuvering of the rod 4 having, by means of the rods 20, 21 pushed back the retaining rivet to the left, to freely straighten the seat. Figure 6 summarizes the possibilities of seat inclination and locking in position according to the invention. It shows in A the bunk position of the seat, at 65 ° inclination towards the rear relative to the vertical axis Y (maximum inclination limited by a mechanical stop), in B the so-called comfort position at 25 ° towards the back, and in X the retracted position or folded forward tablet, confused with the horizontal axis.
Furthermore, the hinge mechanism used, known per se, comprises three sectors of 120 ° cooperating with three grains, each sector of 120 ° dividing into a notched sector C, C, C "of 75 ° and a notch sector NC, NC, NC "making the remaining 45 °. The user sets the position of the seat in the angular zone "beta". If he wishes to retract the seat back in position X, he must maneuver the articulation mechanism which disengages the grains from the notched sectors C, C and C. "But, once past the 10 ° ahead of the angular zone "gamma", it can release the handle, since in the next 45 °, the grains will be in front of the non-toothed sectors NC, NC, NC ", and that from the terminal zone" alpha "of 35 °, the device of the invention will force, thanks to the cam 37, the operating rod in the unlocked position, preventing the meshing of the grains until the position X is actually reached and the cam profile 41 makes return the operating rod 4 in the locking position and thus meshing grains with the notched zone.
It goes without saying that other angular configurations can be chosen to define the notched and notched sectors. Thus one can, if one wishes, to avoid having the angular zone "gamma" of 10 ° towards the front where the backrest is lockable, either by another mechanism of cam or a adapted profile of cam that eclipses the lock in this area is more simply by turning the ring gear of the articulation of 10 ° towards the back to shift all the notches zones.
