Description

Gebiet der ErfindungField of the invention

The invention relates to a bristle tuft for a toothbrush with a number of bristles of a first type and a number of bristles of a second type, wherein the bristles of the first type have a wear behavior that differs from the wear behavior of the bristles of the second kind. The invention further relates to a toothbrush with such a bristle tufts.

Hintergrund der ErfindungBackground of the invention

From the US 3,263,258 is a bristle tufts known, which is formed of bristles with different diameters from each other. By using bristles of different diameters in a tuft of bristles, the cleaning effect of the toothbrush is to be improved, since thinner bristles can penetrate more easily into interdental spaces, while the thick bristles serve to clean the easily accessible tooth areas.

From the US 5,313,909 and the US 4,802,255 Each toothbrushes are known in which the bristles of the toothbrush consist of so-called indicator filaments. The indicator filaments have a colored area, and the use of the toothbrush causes the color in that colored area to change with continued use of the toothbrush. The change of color serves as an indicator of the wear of the toothbrush. Another bristle tuft is from the JP 2005 103184 A known.

Aufgabe der ErfindungObject of the invention

The invention has for its object to provide a bristle tufts for toothbrushes, in which the wear of the toothbrush to the user is particularly clearly displayed.

The solution of this problem is achieved with a bristle tufts according to claim 1.

The use of different wear indicators within a bristle tuft makes the wear even more visible and more visible. The end of the recommended service life of the toothbrush can thereby be displayed more precisely to the user of the toothbrush. In addition, it is prevented that a different cleaning behavior or a different cleaning technique distort the display of wear and thus the actual end of the recommended service life.

The bristles of the first type preferably have a different mechanical wear behavior than the bristles of the second type. This may be due to different bristle geometries, cross-sectional shapes or surface structuring. Also, the cross-sectional area of the bristles of the second type may be smaller than the cross-sectional area of the bristles of the first type.

The free ends of the bristles of the second type may have at least one predetermined breaking point, the continuous mechanical stress of the bristles of the second type causing the free ends of the bristles of the second kind to be split. In addition, the bristles of the second type can have a color-changeable wear indicator.

Ausführliche Beschreibung der FigurenDetailed description of the figures

Fig. 1a shows a first embodiment of a bristle tufts 1 in a perspective view. The bristle tufts 1 consists of a number of bristles, wherein a number of bristles of the first type 2 and a number of bristles of the second type 3 are present. The bristles of the first type 2 each have a color-changeable wear indicator 5 at the free end. The color-changeable wear indicator 5 is characterized essentially by the fact that the color of the wear indicator changes with continuous use of the toothbrush, so that upon reaching a predetermined color of the wear indicator, for example the color white, the user is signaled that the recommended service life of the wear indicator Toothbrush is reached, or the bristles are worn.

The bristles of the second type 3 are arranged substantially in the inner region of the bristle tufts 1. The bristles of the second type 3 have a smaller cross-sectional area or diameter in relation to the bristles of the first type 2. The smaller diameter of the bristles 3 causes them to wear mechanically with increasing useful life of the toothbrush in a different way than the much thicker bristles of the first type 2. The mechanical wear causes, for example, that the bristles of the second type 3 towards the end of the recommended service life of Toothbrush bend. The user of the toothbrush hereby receives, in addition to the color indication of the wear indicator 5, a further indication of the end of the recommended service life of the toothbrush.

  • Fig. 2a zeigt ein weiteres Ausführungsbeispiel eines Borstenbüschels 1.
By using different bristles in a bristle tufts, which in each case are subject to wear in different ways, the wear of the bristles and thus the recommended service life of a toothbrush can be displayed to the user even more clearly and more accurately.
  • Fig. 1b illustrates this in Fig. 1a shown bristle tufts 1 in cross section. As can be seen here, the thick bristles of the first type 2 are arranged in the outer region of the tuft 1, while the thin bristles of the second type 3 are arranged in the inner region of the tuft 1. Of course, the arrangement of the bristles of the first type 2 and the bristles of the second type 3 in a tuft of bristles may also be deviating therefrom. For example, the thick bristles 2 may be arranged so that they are surrounded by a number of thin bristles 3. Furthermore, a random arrangement of the thick bristles 2 and the thin bristles 3 within the bristle tufts 1 is possible.
  • Fig. 2a shows a further embodiment of a bristle tufts 1. The bristle tufts 1 consists of a number of first bristles 2, each having a color wear indicator 5, as already in Fig. 1a shown, and a number of second bristles 4, which are arranged in the interior of the bristle tufts 1 and thus surrounded by the bristles 2 of the first kind. In this embodiment, the bristles 4 of the second type also have a smaller diameter than the bristles 2 of the first kind. In addition, the bristles 4 of the second type are spliceable at the free end in the longitudinal direction.
  • In this embodiment, a bristle tufts 1, the user, as in the embodiment according to Fig. 1a , On the basis of the bristles of the first type 2 provided color-changeable wear indicators a first indication of the recommended end of the useful life. Another indication of the end of the recommended period of use is given to the user by the bristles 4 of the second type. The bristles of the second type 4 are designed such that the free end of these bristles splices towards the end of the recommended service life.
  • Fig. 2b shows a cross section through the in Fig. 2a bristle tufts shown. The thin spliceable bristles 4 of the second type are here arranged so that they are surrounded by the thick bristles provided with color wear indicators 5. Another arrangement of the bristles of the first type 2 and the bristles 4 of the second type is also possible here. Furthermore, the bristles 4 of the second type are thinner in diameter than the bristles 2 of the first type. This makes it possible, in addition to the indication of the mechanical wear of the bristles 4 second type by splicing the free end of these bristles in addition to the display of wear, for example, by bending, as in the embodiment to Fig. 1a shown to provide.

The diameter of the bristles of the second type 4 in the non-spliced state can also correspond to the diameter of the bristles 2 of the first type. A cross section through such a bristle tufts with spliceable bristles 4 of the second kind is shown in FIG Fig. 3 shown.

While in the Figures 2 and 3 second spliceable bristles 4 having a substantially circular cross-sectional area are shown Fig. 4a a further embodiment of a spliceable bristle 4 in cross-section, wherein the bristle has a substantially cloverleaf-shaped cross-sectional area. Here, the upper part of the free end of the spliceable bristle 4 consists essentially of three bristle segments 4a, 4b, 4c, which are of uniform design in the longitudinal direction. The three bristle segments are first firmly joined together in the longitudinal direction. The bristle 4 has at the top of three predetermined breaking points 6, to which the bristle 4 is splittable. The predetermined breaking points 6 are designed such that splicing takes place as close as possible to the end of the recommended service life of the toothbrush or the bristle frayes over time along the predetermined breaking points.

In Fig. 4b is the splittable bristle 4 off Fig. 4a in spliced condition shown in cross-section. The three bristle segments 4a, 4b, 4c have detached from each other along the predetermined breaking points 6.

In Fig. 5 is a splittable bristle 4 in the spliced state shown in a perspective view. The circular segment-shaped bristle segments 4a, 4b, 4c shown here have detached from one another along the predetermined breaking points and thus form clearly visible protruding tips of the bristle for the user of the toothbrush.

The bristle tufts described can be used both in manual toothbrushes and in electric toothbrushes. Preferably, the free ends of the bristles are rounded (not shown in the figures) in order to avoid injury to the gums during cleaning as possible.
