Abstract
Ein Schalldämpfer (10), insbesondere Nachschalldämpfer, für eine Abgasanlage einer Brennkraftmaschine, insbesondere Kraftfahrzeugmotor, umfasst ein einen Mantel (14) und zwei Stirnwände (16,18) aufweisendes, mit wenigstens einer Abgaseintrittsöffnung und wenigstens einer Abgasaustrittsöffnung versehenes Gehäuse (12) und zumindest im Wesentlichen im Gehäuse (12) untergebrachte Schalldämpferelemente. Die zumindest im Wesentlichen im Gehäuse untergebrachten Schalldämpferelemente umfassen ein Eintritts- oder Austrittsrohrstück (24), das mit einem ersten Ende in einer mantelseitigen Abgaseintritts- bzw. Abgasaustrittsöffnung des Gehäuses (12) mündet oder sich durch diese nach außen erstreckt. Die Abgaseintritts- bzw. Abgasaustrittsöffnung ist in einer getrennt vom Mantel (14) gefertigten, anschließend mit diesem verbindbaren Verschlussplatte (26) vorgesehen, durch die eine im Mantel (14) vorgesehene, in eine Mantelstirnseite mündende Aussparung (28) verschließbar ist.A silencer (10), in particular rear silencer, for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, in particular a motor vehicle engine, comprises a housing (12) having a jacket (14) and two end walls (16, 18) and at least one housing (12) provided with at least one exhaust gas inlet opening and at least one exhaust gas outlet opening essentially in the housing (12) housed silencer elements. The at least substantially housed in the housing silencer elements comprise an inlet or outlet pipe piece (24), which opens with a first end in a shell-side Abgaseintritts- or exhaust gas outlet opening of the housing (12) or extending through the latter to the outside. The exhaust gas inlet or exhaust gas outlet opening is provided in a closure plate (26) which is manufactured separately from the jacket (14) and can be closed by means of which a recess (28) provided in the jacket (14) and opening into a jacket end face can be closed.
