Claims (15)

  1. Vorrichtung (805), die Folgendes umfasst:
    einen Sender (830), der konfiguriert ist, um einen Datenstrom (215) zu übertragen, wobei der Datenstrom eine Vielzahl an Datenpaketen umfasst, wobei die Datenpakete Datenpakete erster Priorität (130) und Datenpakete zweiter Priorität (125) beinhalten,
    eine Netzwerkeinheit (810), die konfiguriert ist, um den Betrieb des Senders zu steuern, wobei die Netzwerkeinheit konfiguriert ist, um den Datenstrom in eine Vielzahl von Subströmen (245, 250, 255) zu teilen, basierend auf der Prioritätsstufe der in jedem Substrom enthaltenen Daten, wobei die Vielzahl an Subströmen einen ersten Substrom für Datenpakete erster Priorität und einen zweiten Substrom für Datenpakete zweiter Priorität umfasst;
    wobei die erste Priorität höher ist als die zweite Priorität, wobei die Vorrichtung dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass die Netzwerkeinheit Bandbreiten für die Subströme so festlegt, dass die Bandbreite für die Datenpakete zweiter Priorität größer ist als die Bandbreite für die Datenpakete erster Priorität, wobei die Vorrichtung in einem Netzwerk betrieben wird, das eine Infrastruktur aufweist, die Datenströme mit größerer Bandbreite vor Datenströmen mit geringerer Bandbreite fallen lässt.
  2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin das Festlegen der Bandbreiten das Aufteilen des ersten Substroms in eine Vielzahl von Subströmen umfasst, wenn das zur Übertragung der Datenpakete erster Priorität erforderliche Bandbreitenausmaß größer ist als das für Datenpakete zweiter Priorität erforderliche Bandbreitenausmaß, wobei jeder der Vielzahl an Subströmen, die aus der Aufteilung des ersten Substroms resultieren, eine geringere Bandbreite aufweist als die Bandbreite des zweiten Datensubstroms.
  3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin das Festlegen der Bandbreiten das Auffüllen eines oder mehrerer Subströme mit zusätzlichen Datenpaketen umfasst, um die Bandbreite des Substroms aufrecht zu erhalten.
  4. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 3, worin die zusätzlichen Datenpakete Nulldatenpakete umfassen.
  5. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 3, worin die zusätzlichen Datenpakete erneut übertragene Datenpakete, duplizierte Datenpakete oder sowohl erneut übertragene als auch duplizierte Datenpakete umfassen.
  6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin die Netzwerkeinheit ferner konfiguriert ist, um die Datensubströme zumindest teilweise basierend auf einer Veränderung des Datenstroms dynamisch zu modifizieren.
  7. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin jeder der Vielzahl an Subströmen zu einem anderen Anschluss einer Empfangsvorrichtung geleitet wird.
  8. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin:
    die Vorrichtung die Vielzahl an Subströmen an eine zweite Vorrichtung überträgt und
    die zweite Vorrichtung konfiguriert ist, um zu bestimmen, dass die Vielzahl an Datenströmen jeweils Teile eines einzigen Datenstroms sind, und die Vielzahl an Datenströmen auf dieselbe Weise zu verarbeiten wie den einzigen Datenstrom.
  9. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, worin die Vorrichtung jeden der Vielzahl an Subströmen zu einem anderen Anschluss der zweiten Vorrichtung leitet.
  10. Verfahren zur Priorisierung von Datenpaketen in einem Netzwerk, das Folgendes umfasst:
    das Empfangen (502) einer Anfrage bezüglich der Übertragung eines Datenstroms (215) durch eine Netzwerkvorrichtung, wobei der Datenstrom eine Vielzahl an Datentypen umfasst, wobei jeder Datentyp eine Prioritätsstufe (125, 130) aufweist;
    das Teilen (506) des Datenstroms in eine Vielzahl an Datensubströmen basierend auf der Prioritätsstufe der Daten in jedem Substrom unter Einsatz einer Netzwerkeinheit der Netzwerkvorrichtung, wobei jeder Substrom Daten einer bestimmten Prioritätsstufe aufweist;
    das Zuweisen einer Bandbreite für jeden Datensubstrom durch eine Netzwerkeinheit, wobei die Bandbreite jedes Substroms auf der Prioritätsstufe der Daten in dem Substrom beruht, wobei die jedem Datensubstrom durch die Netzwerkeinheit zugewiesene Bandbreite in einem umgekehrten Verhältnis zu der Prioritätsstufe jedes Datensubstroms steht; und
    das Übertragen (518) der Vielzahl an Datensubströmen durch die Netzwerkvorrichtung über das Netzwerk, wobei die Infrastruktur des Netzwerks vorsieht, dass Datenströme mit größerer Bandbreite vor Datenströmen mit geringerer Bandbreite fallen gelassen werden, wenn es zu einer Störung kommt.
  11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, das ferner Folgendes umfasst: das Teilen eines ersten Datensubstroms durch die Netzwerkvorrichtung in eine Vielzahl von Subströmen, wenn die erforderliche Bandbreite des ersten Substroms größer ist als die erforderliche Bandbreite eines zweiten Datensubstroms, der Daten einer niedrigeren Prioritätsstufe umfasst, wobei jeder der Vielzahl an Subströmen, die aus der Aufteilung des ersten Datensubstroms resultieren, eine Bandbreite aufweist, die geringer ist als die Bandbreite des zweiten Datensubstroms.
  12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, das ferner das Modifizieren der Datensubströme umfasst, zumindest teilweise basierend auf Veränderungen des Datenstroms.
  13. Verfahren nach Anspruch 10, worin die Übertragung der Vielzahl an Datensubströmen das Auffüllen eines oder mehrerer Datensubströme durch die Netzwerkvorrichtung mit zusätzlichen Datenpaketen umfasst, um die zugewiesene Bandbreite der Datensubströme aufrecht zu erhalten.
  14. Verfahren nach Anspruch 13, worin die zusätzlichen Datenpakete ein oder mehrere Nulldatenpakete umfassen.
  15. Verfahren nach Anspruch 13, worin die zusätzlichen Datenpakete erneut übertragene Datenpakete, duplizierte Datenpakete oder sowohl erneut übertragene als auch duplizierte Datenpakete umfassen.
