Etat de la techniqueState of the art

For ice climbing practice, it is known to modify the setting of the front spikes of a crampon armature to adapt to the state of the ice which can vary rapidly depending on climatic conditions and conditions. the outside temperature. The front tips generally include a plurality of holes for adjustment in length and / or inclination. Hard ice at very low temperatures should not be attacked in the same way as softer and more friable ice at higher temperatures. The final assembly requires two fastening screws through two selected holes to obtain an effective locking. It is necessary to remove and reassemble the two fixing screws to modify the setting of the front points, this which imposes a certain time of manipulation and adjustment. Such a device comprising the features of the preamble of claim 1 is described in the document FR 2587223 .

Objet de l'inventionObject of the invention

The object of the invention is to provide an ice crampon for mountaineering, to easily and quickly adjust the longitudinal and / or transverse positioning of at least one nose.

The crampon according to the invention is characterized in that a sliding connection cooperates with a positioning crossbar integral with the armature, the sliding stroke corresponding to the longitudinal offset between the two orifices.

The positioning crosspiece extends parallel to the fixing screw, and is arranged to allow the mounting of one or two front ends according to a predetermined longitudinal and transverse positioning. Only one fastening screw is required to make the adjustment.

According to a preferred embodiment, the positioning crossbar is notched over the entire width with a succession of notches and rectangular notches arranged symmetrically on the two opposite sides. The posterior notch of the front tip has a straight-bottomed T-profile extending parallel to the longitudinal offset of the two orifices. The nose is disposed in a predetermined notch of the crossbar while being locked in the transverse direction by adjacent notches in each of the recoil and advanced positions.

Description de modes particuliers de réalisationDescription of particular embodiments

With reference to Figures 1 to 4 the front caliper 10 of an ice-crampon comprises a hardened steel frame 11 composed of a support plate 12 intended to be fastened under the sole of the boot, and a pair of spikes 13 beforehand. The rear yoke and the connecting bar are not shown in the figures, and are known per se according to the document EP1348350 .

The frame 11 is made by cutting a steel strip, followed by a thermal tempering to obtain the desired hardness. The front spikes 13 have identical structures formed by steel blades attached to the front portion of the armature 11 extending into two vertical parallel planes.

The horizontal face of the sole 12 is perforated by openings 15, 16 separated from each other by a transverse spacer 17. The periphery of the armature 11 is further provided with a series of vertical spikes 14 extending from each side downwards. By way of example, the two vertical points 14 located on each side of the armature 11 at the crossbar 24, are arranged in an inverted V, one forward and the other rearward.

The front part of each nose 13 has a sawtoothed peak 18 extended along the lower edge by a series of anchoring teeth 19. The intermediate portion of each nose 13 is provided with two offset circular orifices 20, 21 in the longitudinal direction, and allowing the passage of a fastening screw 22 during a two-position adjustment of the front tips 13. The two front sides of the frame 11 are provided with a pair of holes to be aligned with one of the two orifices 20, 21 of each front tip 13 for the passage of the screw 22.

The rear portion of each nose 13 is equipped with a notch 23 semi-open having a straight-bottomed T-profile constituting a slide connection slidable on a crossbar 24 for positioning to achieve said adjustment.

L'arrière de l'armature 11 est muni de deux pattes 25, 26 recourbées destinées à la mise en place de la barrette de liaison (non représentée).The depth of the notch 23 is slightly greater than the thickness of the crossbar 24 to allow the adjustment movement. The crossmember 24 extends parallel to the fastening screw 22 by delimiting the opening 16 with the spacer 17. The rear of the armature 11 is provided with two tabs 25, 26 that are curved for the positioning of the link bar (not shown).

The crossbar 24 of positioning is formed by a notched bar over the entire width having on both sides a succession of notches 27 and notches 28 of rectangular shapes and arranged symmetrically with respect to the transverse direction.

The adjustment in length and the locking of each front tip 13 is carried out in the following manner using a single fixing screw 22:
  • On the figures 1 , 3A and 4 each nose 13 is in a retracted position, with the fixing screw 22 passing through the orifices 20 aligned with the holes of the armature 11. The left flank of the notch 23 of each nose 13 abuts against the crossbar 24 to ensure the locking in the longitudinal direction. The lateral positioning of the front tips 13 is also ensured in this position thanks to the adjacent notches 27 which hold them in the corresponding notches 28. The longitudinal and lateral locking of the front spikes 13 is thus ensured by means of a single fixing screw 22. The two front spikes 13 are immobilized in the recoil position, being parallel and separated from one another by a interval d1 maximum. The interval d1 is smaller than the distance separating the two vertical points 14 on both sides of the frame 11.

To modify the longitudinal adjustment of the front tips 13, simply unscrew and remove the fixing screw 22, then slide the front ends 13 to the advanced position. figure 3B ), wherein the right flank of the notch 23 abuts against the opposite edge of the crosspiece 24. The orifices 21 of the front spikes 13 are then aligned with the holes of the armature 11, allowing the passage of the screw fixing 22 ( figure 2 ). The two front points 13 are immobilized in the advanced position, remaining parallel and separated from each other by the same interval d1 transverse.

Le positionnement latéral de la mono-lame dépend de l'entaille 28 sélectionnée sur la traverse 24.On the figures 5 and 6 , it is possible to use a single front tip 13 whose corresponding notch 23 is placed in a predetermined notch 28 of the cross-member 24. The other front tip 13 has been removed after having previously removed the screw 22, and raised the rear part to pull the crossbar 24 out of the notch 23. The lateral positioning of the single-blade depends on the notch 28 selected on the crossbar 24.

In the example of the figure 5 , the lateral positioning of the front tip 13 is asymmetrical with respect to the longitudinal median plane, and advantageously corresponds to a crampon which will be shod in the right shoe of the user. In the longitudinal direction, the single blade is in the recoil position as in the figure 1 .

Le positionnement latéral de la pointe avant 13 correspond à celui de la figure 5.On the figure 6 , the single-blade is in the advanced position as in the figure 2 . The lateral positioning of the front tip 13 corresponds to that of the figure 5 .

With reference to figures 7 and 8 two front points 13 are used with asymmetrical longitudinal positioning and different lateral positioning.

On the figure 7 , the left front tip 13 is in the retracted position, while the front tip 13 of the right is in the advanced position. The two front tips 13 are housed in the notches 28 of the ends of the crossbar 24, which corresponds to a separation interval d1, as that of the figures 1 and 2 .

On the figure 8 , the left front tip 13 is in the advanced position, while the front tip 13 of the right is in the retracted position. The left front tip 13 is housed in a notch 28 intermediate the crossbar 24, which corresponds to a separation interval d2, lower than that of d1.

On the figures 9 and 10 , the two front points 13 are housed in the notches 28 closest to the crossbar 24, being separated from each other by an interval d3 minimum. On the figure 9 , the two front spikes 13 are simultaneously in the retracted position, while they are in the forward position on the figure 10 .

In all the longitudinal and lateral positions shown in the preceding figures, the same fastening screw 22 passes through one of the orifices 20 or 21, and makes it possible to ensure with the slide connection an efficient blocking of the front tips 13 or single-blade bimetal.

La forme des entailles 128 permet d'assurer le positionnement latéral et longitudinal des pointes avant 113.With reference to the variant of Figures 11 to 13B the rear tail of each nose 113 is rectilinear, and is slidably received in one of the notches 128 formed transversely in a downwardly folded wing 31 of the cross member 124. The shape of the notches 128 makes it possible to ensure that the lateral and longitudinal positioning of the tips before 113.

On the other variant of Figures 14 to 16B , the lateral positioning cross member 224 comprises a series of claws 32 curved downwards. A notch 223 opens at the end of each nose before 213, and straddles the crossbar 224 in the gap between two claws 32.

    - at least one front spike (13) in the form of a blade salient from the front part of the armature (11),
    - and means for adjusting the length of said front spike (13) between a withdrawn position and an advanced position, the adjustment means comprising two apertures (20,21) arranged in the intermediate part of said front spike (13,113,213) for passage of a fixing screw (22) in both the withdrawn and advanced positions,
characterized in that a sliding link cooperates with a positioning cross-member (24,124,224) securedly attached to the armature (11), the sliding travel corresponding to the longitudinal distance between the two apertures (20,21).
  2. The ice crampon according to claim 1, characterized in that the sliding link is formed by a semi-open groove (23,223) arranged in the rear part of the front spike (13,213) and designed to slide on the positioning cross-member (24,224).
  3. The ice crampon according to claim 1, characterized in that the positioning cross-member (24) is notched over its whole width with a succession of rectangular notches (27) and indentations (28) arranged symmetrically on the two opposite sides.
  4. The ice crampon according to claim 2, characterized in that the rear groove of the front spike (13) presents a T-shaped profile with a straight bottom extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal offset of the two apertures (20,21).
  5. The ice crampon according to claim 3, characterized in that the front spike (13,113) is arranged in a predefined indentation (28,128) of the cross-member (24,124) and is securedly blocked in the transverse direction by the adjacent notches (27) in both the withdrawn and advanced positions.
  6. The ice crampon according to claim 2, characterized in that the depth of the groove (23,223) is slightly larger than the thickness of the cross-member (24,224) to enable longitudinal adjustment.
  7. The ice crampon according to one of the foregoing claims, characterized in that the positioning cross-member (24,124,224) extends in a direction parallel to the fixing screw (22) enabling one or two front spikes (13,113,213) to be fitted with a predefined longitudinal and transversal positioning.
  8. The ice crampon according to claim 1, characterized in that each front spike (113) has a straight rear tail (30) which is housed sliding in one of the indentations (128) arranged transversely in a wing (31) folded down towards the bottom of the cross-member (124).
  9. The ice crampon according to claim 1, characterized in that the lateral positioning cross-member (224) comprises a series of downwardly-curved claws (32), and that the tail of each front spike (213) straddles the cross-member (224) in the gap between two adjacent claws (32).
