Definitions

  • the invention relates to a tape application method and a tape applicator with the features in the preamble of the method and device main claim.
  • the DE 102 35 784 A1 shows a tape applicator for multi-layer tapes, which consist of a double-sided adhesive tape and a shroud.
  • the device has a frame, two tape rolls for the multi-layer tape and the peeled cover tape and a tape guide and a pressing device for pressing the adhesive tape to a substrate.
  • the pressing device has a single rotatable pressure roller which presses the multi-layer tape against the ground. At the pressure point, the adhesive tape and the shroud are separated from each other, wherein the shroud is then subsequently continued to his tape roll.
  • the US 2002/0189746 A1 teaches another tape applicator for two-ply tapes.
  • the double-layered tape is guided over an oblique guide shoe to a single pressure roller and pressed by this on the ground.
  • the shroud is released from the deposited adhesive tape and guided over the pressure roller directly to a winding away.
  • About an adjacent second role is an additional pressing of the exposed adhesive tape on the ground instead.
  • the pressure roller pivots upwards on a pivot arm, whereby the guide shoe comes into operation with a front deflecting edge.
  • the shroud is detached and led away, wherein immediately thereafter a rotating cutting knife cuts through the exposed adhesive tape.
  • the second pressure roller acts directly on the sticky surface of the adhesive tape.
  • the multi-layer tape is guided over a pressure roller on which the cover tape is subsequently released from the deposited double-sided adhesive tape and removed.
  • the double-sided adhesive tape remains on the substrate and is pressed in direct contact with another pressure roller.
  • the invention solves this problem with the features in the method and device main claim.
  • the claimed tape application technique has the advantage that it is suitable for all types of multi-layer tapes. It is able to apply arbitrarily long and especially very short pieces of tape to the substrate, which is not possible with the known device.
  • the claimed tape applicator is in terms of of the desired image and highly flexible and has a very wide range of applications.
  • the shroud can be partially detached from the adhesive tape and led away.
  • the thus released adhesive tape can be cut at this point and brought to the desired length. This facilitates the separation process, which can also be performed during tape application.
  • the shroud can remain intact during the cutting process and is easier to carry away and dispose of.
  • the adhesive tape can be pressed with its front side on the ground and fixed in position exact and safe for the tape order. At the Andschreibstellen the shroud can lie on the adhesive tape and prevent unwanted sticking the back of the adhesive tape when pressed.
  • a multiple arrangement, preferably a double arrangement of pressing elements provides for improved, very safe and gentle pressing and bonding of the adhesive tape to the substrate;
  • the tape applicator is thereby fast, reliable and very economical. This arrangement also offers other advantages.
  • the shroud can be detached from the adhesive tape and guided in a loop.
  • this offers the possibility of acting in the open loop area with a separating device on the exposed adhesive tape section held between the pressing elements.
  • a separating device on the exposed adhesive tape section held between the pressing elements.
  • the separator does not come into undesirable contact with the ground.
  • tapes can also be applied by machine to a mechanically sensitive surface. Such a separation technique is also favorable for a precise cutting of the adhesive tape and the possibly intermittent application of short adhesive tape sections.
  • the separating device can have one or more separating members, which can be adapted to different band properties.
  • a cutting knife with standing blade and in the form of a draw knife is suitable for harder and dimensionally stable types of tape.
  • a rotating cutter may be more suitable.
  • the adhesive tape is again carried out at the loop outlet under the second, in the feed direction rear pressure element and is in this case between the pressure element and the adhesive tape.
  • This avoids direct contact between the pressing element and the adhesive tape, which is advantageous in various respects.
  • an adhesive transfer to the pressure element is avoided when using adhesive tapes.
  • adhesive tapes may also have a reactive surface in another way, which remains covered with an inert shroud when pressed under both pressing elements and does not get into a possibly damaging contact with the pressing elements.
  • a fixing device for the shroud is arranged, which prevents further separation of the multilayer belt after separation.
  • the case existing residual path for pressing the cut adhesive tape end can be compensated in the loop area by a compensating device. Their compensation movement can then be returned again when resuming the application operation.
  • the claimed tape application technique is suitable for all types of multi-layer tapes.
  • the adhesive tape can be self-adhesive and have one or two adhesive surfaces. On the other hand, it may also be otherwise bonded to the ground by e.g. an adhesive or other adhesive surface is arranged, on which said tape is pressed and then adhered there.
  • An adhesive bond can be made mechanically by way of a hook-and-loop fastener or the like.
  • the claimed Bandaufbringtechnik ensures a secure separation of the adhesive tape from the shroud and for a well-defined application of the adhesive tape in the desired length.
  • the adhesive tape is best protected and still brought with sufficient certainty to the desired connection with the ground.
  • the cut-off adhesive tape end is additionally pressed and fixed by the rear pressing element, for example a freely rotatable roller.
  • the claimed tape applicator is also characterized by its high operational reliability for automatic operation and in conjunction with a manipulator, e.g. a multi-axis robot, suitable.
  • a manipulator e.g. a multi-axis robot
  • the orientation and delivery of the belt application device with respect to the ground can be controlled and monitored via a corresponding sensor.
  • the process can be monitored and e.g. check for splicing error, ligament tear or the like.
  • the tape applicator also handles the multi-layered tape particularly gently.
  • the tape withdrawal from the first tape roll can be done by the pressure forces and the clamping at the application point on the ground.
  • the strip tension depends automatically on the feed speed of the device. It is sufficient to provide a separate drive only for the tape reel of the shroud.
  • This can be equipped with a tape winding upstream tensioner, such as a dancer, which also controls the drive. As a result, a process-compatible interaction with the fixing device and the compensation device can be achieved automatically.
  • the drive is also switched on again self-regulating when resuming the tape application operation.
  • the invention also makes it possible to mold or reshape the adhesive or adhesive tape applied to the substrate.
  • a shaped body or form roller arrangement can be provided.
  • any contour adjustments are possible.
  • the shroud can be returned to the already deposited adhesive tape and temporarily placed here.
  • subsequent pressing element in particular a freely rotatable pressure roller
  • the shroud can be detached again after the molding of the deposited adhesive tape and returned to the shroud wrap.
  • the deposited adhesive tape can additionally be pressed on the ground again.

  • the adhesive tape (2) does not have to be self-adhesive.
  • an adhesive tape (2) is understood to mean any type of tape which, after application, adheres in any way to a substrate (4) or receives another positional relationship to the substrate (4).
  • the adhesive effect can in this case on one side of the substrate (4) or on both sides of the substrate (4) and adhesive tape (2) go out.
  • the adhesive effect can be achieved in any manner, for example by an adhesive bond, by adhesion, by mechanical entanglement or crosslinking or the like.

Description

The invention relates to a tape application method and a tape applicator with the features in the preamble of the method and device main claim.

The DE 102 35 784 A1 shows a tape applicator for multi-layer tapes, which consist of a double-sided adhesive tape and a shroud. The device has a frame, two tape rolls for the multi-layer tape and the peeled cover tape and a tape guide and a pressing device for pressing the adhesive tape to a substrate. The pressing device has a single rotatable pressure roller which presses the multi-layer tape against the ground. At the pressure point, the adhesive tape and the shroud are separated from each other, wherein the shroud is then subsequently continued to his tape roll.

From the DE 102 35 786 A1 is a tape applicator for a double-layered tape is known in which the shroud is loosened in a loop between pulleys from the actual adhesive tape and carried away, wherein in this swept away shroud a cutting device cuts through the exposed adhesive tape. The separation of shroud and adhesive tape takes place before the application and pressing of the adhesive tape on the ground, the separation point is located at a distance from the pressure point of the adhesive tape. The pressing is done with a single large pressure roller.

The US 2002/0189746 A1 teaches another tape applicator for two-ply tapes. The double-layered tape is guided over an oblique guide shoe to a single pressure roller and pressed by this on the ground. At the pressure point, the shroud is released from the deposited adhesive tape and guided over the pressure roller directly to a winding away. About an adjacent second role is an additional pressing of the exposed adhesive tape on the ground instead. When the band is to be severed, the pressure roller pivots upwards on a pivot arm, whereby the guide shoe comes into operation with a front deflecting edge. At the deflection edge, the shroud is detached and led away, wherein immediately thereafter a rotating cutting knife cuts through the exposed adhesive tape. The second pressure roller acts directly on the sticky surface of the adhesive tape.

When in the EP 0 181 280 A1 As shown in the aforementioned prior art, the multi-layer tape is guided over a pressure roller on which the cover tape is subsequently released from the deposited double-sided adhesive tape and removed. The double-sided adhesive tape remains on the substrate and is pressed in direct contact with another pressure roller.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved tape application technique for multi-ply tapes.

The invention solves this problem with the features in the method and device main claim.

The claimed tape application technique has the advantage that it is suitable for all types of multi-layer tapes. It is able to apply arbitrarily long and especially very short pieces of tape to the substrate, which is not possible with the known device.

With the invention, a sequence of tape pieces in the manner of a stitching seam with any and in particular very small mutual distances can be applied. The claimed tape applicator is in terms of of the desired image and highly flexible and has a very wide range of applications.

The shroud can be partially detached from the adhesive tape and led away. The thus released adhesive tape can be cut at this point and brought to the desired length. This facilitates the separation process, which can also be performed during tape application. The shroud can remain intact during the cutting process and is easier to carry away and dispose of. On both sides of the release and separation point, the adhesive tape can be pressed with its front side on the ground and fixed in position exact and safe for the tape order. At the Andrückstellen the shroud can lie on the adhesive tape and prevent unwanted sticking the back of the adhesive tape when pressed.

A multiple arrangement, preferably a double arrangement of pressing elements provides for improved, very safe and gentle pressing and bonding of the adhesive tape to the substrate; The tape applicator is thereby fast, reliable and very economical. This arrangement also offers other advantages.

Between the pressing elements, the shroud can be detached from the adhesive tape and guided in a loop. On the one hand, this offers the possibility of acting in the open loop area with a separating device on the exposed adhesive tape section held between the pressing elements. As a result, only the adhesive tape can be cut and the shroud remain undamaged. By a floating holding and separating the adhesive tape section, the separator does not come into undesirable contact with the ground. Due to the gentle technique, tapes can also be applied by machine to a mechanically sensitive surface. Such a separation technique is also favorable for a precise cutting of the adhesive tape and the possibly intermittent application of short adhesive tape sections.

The separating device can have one or more separating members, which can be adapted to different band properties. A cutting knife with standing blade and in the form of a draw knife is suitable for harder and dimensionally stable types of tape. For softer and more labile tape types, a rotating cutter may be more suitable. By means of a feed device, the separating member between a working and a rest position can be moved back and forth.

On the other hand, the adhesive tape is again carried out at the loop outlet under the second, in the feed direction rear pressure element and is in this case between the pressure element and the adhesive tape. This avoids direct contact between the pressing element and the adhesive tape, which is advantageous in various respects. On the one hand, an adhesive transfer to the pressure element is avoided when using adhesive tapes. On the other hand, adhesive tapes may also have a reactive surface in another way, which remains covered with an inert shroud when pressed under both pressing elements and does not get into a possibly damaging contact with the pressing elements.

For accurate separation, it is also advantageous if in the loop area a fixing device for the shroud is arranged, which prevents further separation of the multilayer belt after separation. The case existing residual path for pressing the cut adhesive tape end can be compensated in the loop area by a compensating device. Their compensation movement can then be returned again when resuming the application operation.

The claimed tape application technique is suitable for all types of multi-layer tapes. The adhesive tape can be self-adhesive and have one or two adhesive surfaces. On the other hand, it may also be otherwise bonded to the ground by e.g. an adhesive or other adhesive surface is arranged, on which said tape is pressed and then adhered there. An adhesive bond can be made mechanically by way of a hook-and-loop fastener or the like.

The claimed Bandaufbringtechnik ensures a secure separation of the adhesive tape from the shroud and for a well-defined application of the adhesive tape in the desired length. The adhesive tape is best protected and still brought with sufficient certainty to the desired connection with the ground. In particular, it is advantageous if the cut-off adhesive tape end is additionally pressed and fixed by the rear pressing element, for example a freely rotatable roller.

The claimed tape applicator is also characterized by its high operational reliability for automatic operation and in conjunction with a manipulator, e.g. a multi-axis robot, suitable. On the one hand, the orientation and delivery of the belt application device with respect to the ground can be controlled and monitored via a corresponding sensor. On the other hand, the process can be monitored and e.g. check for splicing error, ligament tear or the like.

The tape applicator also handles the multi-layered tape particularly gently. The tape withdrawal from the first tape roll can be done by the pressure forces and the clamping at the application point on the ground. The strip tension depends automatically on the feed speed of the device. It is sufficient to provide a separate drive only for the tape reel of the shroud. This can be equipped with a tape winding upstream tensioner, such as a dancer, which also controls the drive. As a result, a process-compatible interaction with the fixing device and the compensation device can be achieved automatically. The drive is also switched on again self-regulating when resuming the tape application operation.

The invention also makes it possible to mold or reshape the adhesive or adhesive tape applied to the substrate. For this purpose, a shaped body or form roller arrangement can be provided. By a suitable arrangement and design of moldings, in particular freely rotatable mold rollers, any contour adjustments are possible.

Also in the field of form roller assembly, the shroud can be returned to the already deposited adhesive tape and temporarily placed here. By means of an in turn subsequent pressing element, in particular a freely rotatable pressure roller, the shroud can be detached again after the molding of the deposited adhesive tape and returned to the shroud wrap. In addition, the deposited adhesive tape can additionally be pressed on the ground again.

In the subclaims, further advantageous embodiments of the invention result.

The invention relates to an application device (1) for multilayer strips (2, 3) together with operating methods. Such a tape applicator (1) is shown for example in the drawings of FIGS. 1 to 10 presented in two variants.

The applied multi-layered bands (2,3) can be of different types and training. In the embodiment shown, they consist of two layers, which are formed by an adhesive tape (2) and a shroud (3). The number of layers may alternatively be larger. In particular, the adhesive tape (2) may be multi-layered. The adhesive tape (2) can be designed differently. In the exemplary embodiment shown, it is a double-sided adhesive tape. The adhesive tape (2) may alternatively have an adhesive surface only on one side and a reactive surface on the other side, e.g. have a responsive to pressure, heat or other influence material layer. The second side can also be formed by a foam or any other material, which is protected by the shroud (3).

The adhesive tape (2) does not have to be self-adhesive. For the purposes of the invention, an adhesive tape (2) is understood to mean any type of tape which, after application, adheres in any way to a substrate (4) or receives another positional relationship to the substrate (4). The adhesive effect can in this case on one side of the substrate (4) or on both sides of the substrate (4) and adhesive tape (2) go out. The adhesive effect can be achieved in any manner, for example by an adhesive bond, by adhesion, by mechanical entanglement or crosslinking or the like. The shroud (3) consists for example of an inert material, and is formed in the embodiment shown as a silicone strip or the like. The shroud (3) has a lower adhesive force to adhesive tape in double-sided adhesive tapes (2) (2) as the underground (4).

The shroud (3) can be loosened in places and removed during the tape application of the adhesive tape (2). At this point, the exposed adhesive tape (2) without damage to the shroud (3) are severed. Both bands (2, 3) can be pressed against the substrate (4) by a pressing device (18) on both sides of the release and separation point.

Figure 1 to 6 show a first variant of the tape applicator (1). It consists of a frame (5) on which at least two parallel-axis tape winding (8,9) are rotatably and detachably arranged. The upper band wrap (8) is provided for the still connected multilayer band (2, 3). The lower tape roll (9) serves to receive the cover tape (3) detached from the adhesive tape (2). Instead of the rotatable band wraps (8, 9), any other types of band stock or tape recordings may be present.

The upper tape roll (8) for the multi-layer tape (2,3) is freely rotatably mounted and is braked with a slip clutch (43) or the like. Other construction in the unwinding. As a result, the multi-layer tape (2,3) can be controlled and removed under constant train. The lower band wrap (9) for the shroud, (3) has its own drive (10) and an upstream dancer (11). On the arm of the dancer (11) a dancer roll (12) is arranged, over which the shroud (3) is guided. The dancer arm is rotatably mounted on the frame (5) and is provided with a resilient adjusting element (13). As a result, the belt loop around the dancer roll (12) is held in tension and tightened. The adjusting element (13) can be, for example, a mechanical spring or the pneumatically resilient cylinder shown in the exemplary embodiment.

The dancer (11) can control the drive (10) and turn it on or off depending on the deck belt train being exercised. For this purpose, end stops, position sensors or the like other devices may be present, which tap the rotational position of the dancer arm and act on the drive control accordingly.

The tape applicator (1) further comprises a tape guide (14) with a plurality of deflection rollers (15, 15 ', 16) and a guide shoe (17) for guiding the multi-layer tape (2,3) and the detached shroud (3). Further, a pressing device (18) for pressing the adhesive tape (2) on a substrate (4) is provided on the underside. The band applicator (1) further includes a separator (38) and a compensator (34) for the detached shroud (3).

The belt application device (1) can be connected to a guide device, eg a multi-axis manipulator, in particular a multi-axis robot. About the guide means the Bandaufbringvorrichtung (1) is positioned on the ground (4), pressed there and moved in the feed direction (23). The tape applicator (1) has at the top or other suitable location a connection (6) for connection to the guide device. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this can be a robot connection for connection to the multiaxially rotatable robot hand of an articulated-arm robot. The connection (6) can optionally be detachably connected to the frame (5) directly and fixedly or via the change coupling (7) shown in the exemplary embodiments. As a result, the robot can connect and disconnect the band application device (1) as required and also exchange it with another tool.

For guiding and positioning of the band application device (1), a sensor system may be present. This has, for example, one or more sensors (41), which are designed, for example, as a camera and serve for the positioning and referencing of the band application device (1). In FIG. 1 Such a sensor (41) is shown on the connection (6). The tape applicator (1) may further include one or more other process monitoring sensors (42). This is for example the in FIG. 1 and 3 shown sensor in addition to the pressing device (18), which serves for example, the splice detection and as a tape tear control. He is on the on the substrate (4) applied adhesive tape section (29) directed.

The pressing device (18) is in FIGS. 3 to 6 more instinctive detailing and enlarged. As FIG. 1 clarifies the Bandaufbringvorrichtung (1) by the guide device in the feed direction (23) is moved. The pressing device (18) has at least two closely adjacent pressing elements (19, 20) which are designed in any suitable manner and are designed, for example, as freely rotatable cylindrical pressure rollers. The pressure rollers (19,20) have a relatively small diameter of eg 10 to 15 mm. The pressing elements (19, 20) are arranged one behind the other in the feed direction (23) and both contact the shroud (3). They act on the intermediate shroud (3) on the adhesive tape (2). The small diameter and the small distance of the pressing elements (19,20) favor the application of very short adhesive tape sections (29), which may have a length of about 30 mm, for example.

The pressing element (19) lying in front in the feed direction (23) has an adjusting device (21) for lifting off the substrate (4). The lifting of the pressure element (19) can be carried out vertically or in the manner shown obliquely upward, wherein the pressure element (19) from the other removed rear pressing element (20) and also in-feed direction (23) is distanced. The adjusting device (21) can be constructed in any desired manner. It has, for example, an adjusting carriage (22) mounted obliquely upwardly movably with a suitable drive.

The guide device (14) has to guide the multilayer belt (2,3) in the feed direction in front of the front pressure element (19) arranged freely rotatable deflection roller (16) and a guide shoe (17). The guide shoe (17) is arranged immediately in front of the front pressure element (19) and directs the multi-layered tape (2, 3) directly to the pressure element (19) with an upwardly open guide groove. The guide shoe (17) is oriented obliquely, wherein its inclination corresponds to the feed direction of the multi-layered belt (2, 3) and possibly also the direction of adjustment of the front pressure element (19). In the position raised in the feed direction (23), the guide element (19) rests on or is closely adjacent to a front guide surface of the guide shoe (17). FIG. 6 shows this arrangement.

The upstream guide roller (16) may have a slightly tapered shell shape, which widens towards the frame (5) and thereby introduces the multi-layered tape (2,3) with a defined reference edge in the U-shaped guide shoe (17). As FIG. 5 illustrates, the guide shoe (17) at the upper end in a substantially U-shaped cross-section guide groove (44) which has two towering side walls with inlet slopes and a groove bottom (46). The left and outer side wall (45) in the strip running direction forms, for example, the leading edge on which the multi-ply strip (2, 3) starts to float and which sides of the strip (2, 3) under the pressure element (19) and on the ground ( 4). The side walls can be in front of the bottom Guide shoe end, for example, in the shoe center end, the groove bottom (46) extends to the lower end. FIG. 4 shows this arrangement in operating and Andrückstellung.

In the in FIG. 1 . 3 and 4 shown operating position press both pressing elements (19,20), the multilayer belt (2,3) under the action of the guide device against the ground (4). Here lies the shroud (3) with his back to the two pressing elements (19,20). The adhesive tape (2) is exposed with its front side down and can be pressed onto the substrate (4).

The shroud (3) is released from the adhesive tape (2) between the pressing elements (19, 20) and guided in a belt loop (24). The belt loop (24) can expand towards the closed end and thereby have a funnel shape. The belt loop (24) may be e.g. in a straight line from the ground (4) away vertically or obliquely upwards. It may alternatively have a kinked or angled shape.

The compensation device (34) has an evasive compensation element (35) in the closed loop end. As a result, the belt loop (24) can be kept taut and reduced if necessary. The compensating element (35) can be designed in any suitable manner and consists for example of a freely rotatably mounted compensating roller. The compensation device (34) further has a guide (36) which extends substantially in the longitudinal direction of the belt loop (24) and, for example, has a guide rail with a carriage movably mounted thereto. The compensating device (34) further has a resilient adjusting element (37) for the compensating element (35). This may be, for example, a mechanical spring or the pneumatic spring cylinder shown in the drawings. This will be the Pulling compensation element (35) upwards and tightening the belt loop (24).

The shroud (3) is guided at the exit of the loop (24) around the pressing element (20) located in the direction of advance (23) and comes thereby again with the back of the adhesive tape (2) into contact, between the adhesive tape (2 ) and the pressing element (20). During normal application operation, the pressing element (20) presses the adhesive tape section (29), which has already been pressed on the substrate (4) for the first time and pressed by the front pressing element (19), thus securing the adhesive bond. The shroud (3) is then released after circulating the rear pressure element (20) again from the deposited adhesive tape portion (29) and passed over a freely rotatable deflection roller (15) on to the dancer (11) and the tape roll (9).

For separating the adhesive tape (2) a separating device (38) is provided, which preferably acts on the release point and only on the adhesive tape (2) and leaves the shroud (3) undamaged. The separating device (38) is arranged between the pressing elements (19, 20). The belt loop (24) is open at the bottom, the separating device (38) acting in the region of this belt loop opening (27) on the held between the pressing elements (19,20) adhesive tape portion (28). The separating device (38) has a separating element (39, 39 ') and a drive (40) for advancing and returning the separating element (39, 39').

The separating element (39, 39 ') can be designed in any suitable manner. In the variant of Figure 1 to 6 the separating element (39) is designed as a cutting knife with a standing blade, which can be moved back and forth by the drive (40) and which preferably performs a pulling cut. Such a pull knife (39) is particularly suitable for hardness and dimensionally stable strip materials.

In normal contract operation with the closely spaced and at the same height pressing elements (19,20), the separating member (39) is pulled back and is located outside the belt loop (24). FIG. 4 shows this arrangement. In FIG. 5 and 6 is the separation function with advanced separating element (39) illustrated. In this case, the front pressure element (19) is lifted vertically or obliquely upward, whereby the adhesive tape portion (28) between the pressing elements (19,20) from the ground (4) extends obliquely upward and is tightened. The adjusting movement also enlarges the belt loop opening (27) and creates space for the separating element (39), which is advanced in a straight direction, for example, which cuts through the floating adhesive tape section (28) with a drawing cut in this position. At the guide shoe (17) and its leading side wall (45) receives the adhesive tape portion (28) while a support. In the further movement of the tape applicator (1), the rear pressure element (20) presses the cut end of the tape securely against the substrate (4) and passes over it. In FIG. 6 the background (4) is indicated by dashed lines.

For the separation process, it is favorable if, after cutting through the adhesive tape section (28), the further transport of the multi-layered tape (2, 3) and, in particular, the adhesive tape (2) located therein is temporarily stopped. For this purpose, the Bandaufbringvorrichtung (1) on a fixing device (30) for the detached shroud (3) in the region of the belt loop (24). The fixing device (30) acts on the from the front pressure element (19) to the balancing device (34) tapered loop center (25) and holds it firmly. The fixing device (30) may be formed, for example, as a controllable clamping device and has a frame-fixed counter-holder (31) and one of a drive (33) against the loop center (25) deliverable clamping element (32).

Due to the fixed loop center (25), a subsequent movement of the multi-ply strip (2, 3) away from the upper strip roll (8) is avoided. On the other hand, thanks to the compensating device (34), the remaining advancing movement for pressing the free-cut adhesive tape end still take place, wherein the shroud (3) around the rear pressure element (20) around a little more is rolled. The strip length in question can be taken from the other, running loop center (26), wherein the compensation element (35) gives way to corresponding shortening of the loop length and moves downwards.

This tracking movement of the belt loop (24) is limited. By continuing to drive (10) of the shroud (9) is due to this limitation of the dancer (11) stretched over his belt loop increasingly until it reaches a shutdown position for the drive (10).

For a new tape application, the raised front pressure element (19) is again moved by the adjusting device (21) downwards in the normal pressure position, wherein the free-hanging end of the adhesive tape portion (28) is pressed against the ground. As a result of the clamping of the multilayer strip (2, 3) between the pressure element (19) and the substrate (4), the multilayer strip (2, 3) is subsequently drawn in, and thereby also the shroud (3) through the strip loop (FIG. 24) and further transported to the tape roll (9). As a result, the compensation device (34) and the dancer (11) relax and return to their starting position. The drive (10) for the shroud wrap (9) is then automatically switched on again via the dancer movement. Between at the same height pressing elements (19,20) of the shroud (3) below the loop opening (27) detached adhesive tape section (28) is held on the substrate (4) and passed over the pressing elements (19,20) twice and pressed.

FIGS. 7 to 10 show a second variant of the Bandandrückvorrichtung (1). This has, as in the first variant, a frame (5) and a connection (6) for connection to a robot. The tape roll (8) for the multi-layer tape (2,3) is laterally offset and rotated to the tape roll (9) for the shroud (3), wherein the tape rolls (8,9), for example, have mutually perpendicular axes of rotation. As FIG. 7 illustrates, the multi-layer tape (2,3) coming from the tape roll (8) is rotated by 90 ° and guided over deflection rollers (15,16) to the pressure range. The tape guide (14) with the pressing device (18) and the fixing device (30) and the compensation device (34) is the same or similar as in the first embodiment. In the second variant, however, the tape presser (1) has a different tape guide for the shroud (3) after release from the adhesive tape (2). In addition, in the second variant, the band application device (1) can have at least one further pressing element (47) and a forming roller body or shaping roller arrangement (48). In addition, the separator (38) is formed differently in the second embodiment.

For the guidance of the shroud (3), there are two different embodiments in the second embodiment of the band applicator (1). In the first variant of FIG. 7 the shroud (3) after passing the rear pressure element (20) up to a deflection roller (15) and from here on to a dancer (11) out. This type of tape guide can be selected when the pressing element (47) and the forming roller assembly (48) deactivated or dismantled.

In the second embodiment of FIG. 8 are the pressing element (47) and the forming roller assembly (48) in the operating position. In this case, the cover strip (3) guided back by the pressing element (20) remains on the rear side of the adhesive tape section (29) deposited on the substrate (4) and covers it upwards. The molding arrangement (48) following in the feed direction (23) thereby contacts both bands (2, 3) and acts in the manner explained below.

At the turn in the feed direction (23) subsequent pressing element (47), which is designed for example as a freely rotatable pressure roller, the shroud (3) from the adhesive tape (2) is detached and up to a deflection roller (15 ') and from here on led to the dancer (11). FIG. 10 shows this shroud guide in section. The pressing element (47) can be single or multiple. It contacts the shroud (3) and acts on this from above.

In the FIG. 8 in front view and in FIG. 9 Shaped roller arrangement (48), which is shown in section, serves for applying the adhesive tape and possibly also the cover sheet (3) to an angled base (4). This can eg the in FIG. 10 have shown web shape, wherein the adhesive tape (2) and possibly the shroud (3) U-shaped around the upper edge region of the web (4) are placed and pressed on both sides. Here are the or the bands (2,3) on both sides over the web (4).

The shaping roller arrangement (48) can have one or more optionally freely rotatable shaping rollers (49, 50). In the embodiment of FIG. 9 are two axially spaced form rollers (49,50) provided with prismatic and beveled shell shapes, which have oblique axes of rotation and take a V-position to each other, forming a the double-cone-shaped geometry encompassing the web (4). Due to the prismatic shell shape of the forming rollers (49, 50), the band (2) or bands (2, 3) initially applied flat to the top side of the web are folded down and fed to the lateral web edge regions during the advance of the band application device (1). pressed. The V-shaped form rollers (49,50) cause a pliers-like clamping and press-fitting.

The forming roll assembly (48) may alternatively comprise only one forming roll (49, 50) or more than two forming rolls (49, 50). With a single forming roll (49, 50), e.g. be worked when an adhesive tape (2) applied to the corner region of a substrate (4) and thereby only once and at the edge, for example. to be angled 90 degrees. Here, in addition, a pressure roller may be present, which presses from above on the upper side of the substrate (4) located adhesive tape (2) and secures its position in bending the laterally projecting band area. In a further modification, any other angular size for a folding are possible. Similarly, a possibly multi-layered tape (2,3) can also be adapted and pressed against a rounded or curved surface of the substrate (4). The one or more forming rollers (49,50) are provided for this purpose with a correspondingly shaped jacket and can have a corresponding axial inclination. The base (4) and the adapted forming rollers (49,50) can have any curved or curved contour transversely to the feed direction (23). The roller shells can be pressure-resistant or limited elastically deformable.

In order to prevent sticking of the adhesive or adhesive tape (2) on the forming rollers (49,50), in the in FIG. 8 shown, the shroud (3) to be returned to the adhesive tape (2) and this in the field of Cover form roller assembly (48). Alternatively, the forming rollers (49,50) may be made of an inert and non-adherent material, with the shroud (3) in the in FIG. 7 shown manner before the form roller assembly (48) withdrawn and can be removed. In a further modification of the embodiment shown, the shaping rollers (49, 50) can be replaced by other types of shaped bodies, eg frame-fixed runners, slotted links or the like in another molding arrangement.

In the second variant of the band applicator (1) of FIGS. 7 to 10 is also the separator (38) formed in another way.
