Description

The invention relates to a workpiece shuttle intended for use in industrial production where delicate components, such as watch parts, have to be conveyed from one station to another. The invention also relates to a system and method for transporting at least one part.

Arrière-plan de l'inventionBackground of the invention

Semi-automatic production lines are designed to be as efficient as possible. As such, it is customary to divide the assembly range into elementary tasks allowing a high speed of execution and a limited storage of components at each workstation. In order to guarantee a productive set, the transfer times between each post must be kept to a minimum.

Because of this division into elementary tasks, some components are placed on workpieces without being maintained. They are then transferred to the next station to be fixed. The shuttle carrying them can undergo during these routes accelerations and shocks. It can hit or be hit by another shuttle. The displacements imposed by the conveyor can also be abrupt and generate accelerations and shocks. An untimely interruption can also cause these kinds of problems. All of these events can lead to component rollover.

It is possible to integrate the setting up and fixing of the components on the same station but this decreases the efficiency by increasing the complexity of the task: number of operations, tools needed and parts concerned more important. It is also possible to block, temporarily, through the shuttle or the workpiece holder, the parts during the transfer. But it increases the complexity of the shuttle (management of moving parts additional blocking) thereby decreasing the reliability of the transfer.

In the horological field in particular, when assembling a watch movement, mobiles (assembly of a wheel on a pinion carrying the axis of rotation) are positioned on a plate (frame of the watch movement), she herself positioned on a workpiece at a first post. The shuttle carrying the carrier on which are arranged the moving then moves to the next station. We then cover the mobiles with a bridge that keeps them in place. During this transfer, the following events may occur: excessive acceleration of the shuttle, shocks with another shuttle or other element. These events all lead to a risk of reversal of the mobiles, which imposes a reinstatement before styling by the bridge and leads to a decrease in productivity.

In order to remedy these problems, it was first attempted to design the assembly line differently, by styling the mobiles at the same station where they are put in place. This solution proves to be unsatisfactory due to the multiplication of operations at the same station. Reliability is reduced and good ergonomics of the station is difficult to obtain (number of parts and important assembly tools).

It was then tried to dampen shocks and accelerations with an elastic blade disposed between the workpiece holder and the shuttle. But this blade echoes shock and does not dampen it. The mobiles always fall.

Exposé sommaire de l'inventionSummary of the invention

It is by seeking a solution to the aforementioned problems that the inventors have reached a satisfactory solution, which consists essentially of damping shocks and accelerations with a damping element disposed between the workpiece and the shuttle.

The invention therefore relates to a shuttle, a system and a method that particularly allow the transport of delicate parts, such as micromechanical parts, especially watchmaking, without them falling or damage.

More specifically, the invention relates to a shuttle intended to receive at least one workpiece holder, provided at least partially on at least one of its faces intended to come into contact with the workpiece, with a damping element capable of separating the shuttle hanger.

The invention also relates to a system for transporting at least one part, comprising at least one shuttle according to the invention and at least one workpiece carrier.

The invention also relates to a method of transporting at least one piece, in which the piece is transported in a workpiece holder placed in a shuttle according to the invention.

Exposé détaillé de l'inventionDetailed exposition of the invention

The damping element used in the invention is preferably a gel. In the present description, the term "gel", a semi-solid soft substance that looks like gelatin.

According to the invention, the gel is attached to the shuttle. It can be glued, crimped, pinched or held by any other means.

The succession of washes in the life cycle of the shuttle requires that the gel is easily removable in order to be changed. Therefore, it is best to maintain the gel otherwise than by gluing.

In addition, the adhesive can be dissolved by the baths and / or washing solvents.

The gel may be made of a synthetic material of silicone type, polyurethane foam or any other similar material having damping properties. The elasticity of the gel must be sufficient to ensure the safe holding of the workpiece in or on the shuttle, and its sufficient damping capacity to eliminate any risk of tilting parts placed in or on the workpiece holder.

According to the invention, the workpiece must be able to be removed without constraint of the shuttle and the gel must be positioned so as to damp any shock that may occur (lateral and vertical shocks, coupled shocks).

That is why, to determine where (s) place (s) should be available gel, it is generally carried out a preliminary study of the palletizing system.

Un tel évidement est clairement visible sur les figures 5 et 6 où il est désigné par le numéro de référence 1.The shuttle according to the invention generally comprises at least one recess in which the workpiece holder will be housed in part or in full. Such a recess is clearly visible on the figures 5 and 6 where it is designated by reference number 1.

The shuttle 3 therefore comprises a recess 1 and the gel 2 can be located at least partially on at least one of the faces of this recess 1.

Un porte-pièce 4 se trouve dans l'évidement 1 et il est donc séparé de ce dernier de tous côtés par le gel 2.Referring to the figure 1 , we can see a first embodiment of the invention, wherein a shuttle 3 has a recess 1 which has a rectangular cross section, or square. The gel 2 is disposed at least partially on each of the sides of the section. A piece holder 4 is in the recess 1 and is therefore separated from the latter on all sides by the gel 2.

On the figure 2 the recess 1 also has a rectangular cross section, but here the gel 2 which separates the workpiece holder 4 from the recess 1 is arranged in the four corners of this recess 1.

The gel 2 is disposed over the entire periphery of the section of the recess 1.

On the figure 4 , the recess 1 has a circular cross section and the gel 2 is disposed on the entire circumference of the section.

Regarding the bottom of the recess 1, it can take any form. For example and as we can see on the figure 5 the bottom 5 may be flat and perpendicular to the lateral faces 7 of the recess 1, so that the recess 1 has a generally cubic shape.

Le fond 5 peut aussi comprendre plusieurs faces. The bottom 5 may also include several faces.

On the figure 6 for example, the bottom 5 comprises a flat face 8 perpendicular to the lateral faces 7 and inclined faces 6 located in the corners formed by the lateral faces 7 and the flat face 8 of the recess 1.

The gel 2 can be arranged, as is visible on the figure 5 , both partially on at least one lateral face 7 and partially on the bottom 5 of the recess 1.

Sur la figure 6, le gel 2 est disposé uniquement sur les faces inclinées 6 du fond 5 de l'évidemment 1.On the figure 6 , the gel 2 is disposed only on the inclined faces 6 of the bottom 5 of the recess 1.

Of course, the positioning of the gel 2 between the workpiece holder 4 and the shuttle is made according to the application provided for the shuttle, that is to say according to the directions of occurrence of potential shocks.

Thus, preferably, the gel 2 is arranged to dampen the impacts in several different directions. It is therefore desirable to arrange it on the sides of the recess 1, that is to say on its lateral faces 7, preferably along axes perpendicular to each other (see, for example, figure 1 ), as well as on the bottom 5, as can be seen on the figure 5 .

The shuttle 3 can be designed to hold and carry a plurality of workpiece carriers 4, as illustrated in FIG. figure 7 where it includes several obviously 1.

The shuttle 3 is generally made of a sufficiently rigid material, on the one hand, to enable it to support the workpiece holder (s) with its part (s) and, on the other hand, to be driven by the conveying system . This material may be a rigid synthetic material, for example an optionally filled polymer, or a metal such as aluminum.

The shape of the workpiece holder 4 can be very variable. It is generally related to the type of parts that the workpiece holder is intended to contain or support.

The workpiece holder 4 is generally made of a rigid synthetic material, for example an optionally filled polymer, or a metal such as aluminum.

It can be designed to carry multiple pieces.

According to another aspect, the invention relates to a method of transporting at least one part, in which the piece is transported in a workpiece holder 4 placed in a shuttle 3 according to the invention.

On peut alors envisager deux variantes :

  • ou bien on met la pièce dans le porte-pièce 4, on place le porte-pièce 4 dans la navette et on met la navette 3 en mouvement ;
We can then consider two variants:
  • or we put the piece in the workpiece holder 4, place the workpiece holder 4 in the shuttle and put the shuttle 3 in motion;
  • or the workpiece holder 4 is placed in the shuttle 3, the workpiece is placed in the workpiece holder 4 and the shuttle 3 is set in motion.

The setting in motion of the shuttle 3 is carried out in a manner known to those skilled in the art. Shuttle 3 usually rests on a conveyor belt that takes it from one station to another. The movement of the conveyor belt is carried out conventionally.

The invention can find applications in many fields, in particular in the field of micromechanics and especially in watchmaking.

The Figures 8 and 9 illustrate a use of a shuttle according to the invention in the field of watchmaking.

As can be seen, delicate mobiles 9 and 10 are positioned on a plate 11, itself resting on a carrier 4 isolated from the shuttle 3 by gel 2. The shuttle 3 can therefore transport the mobile safely from one post to another.
