- Switchable bucket tappet (1) for a valve drive of an internal combustion engine, with a housing (3) which has a ring-like cam run-on bottom (2) and from the outer margin (4) of which projects a shroud (5) and from the inner margin (6) of which projects a hollow-cylindrical extension (7) with a bore (8), in which runs an inner part (9) which is axially movable in relation to the housing (3) and the underside (10) of which has inherent to it a bearing surface for a gas exchange valve, at least one coupling piston (12) running in a bore (11), such as a radial bore of the inner part (9), which coupling piston can be brought partially into engagement with a driving surface (13) of the housing (3) in order to achieve a full valve stroke, and a lost-motion spring (14) acting between the housing (3) and the inner part (9), characterized in that in the bore (8) of the extension (7), only in the circumferential portion of the coupling piston (12), a material clearance (15), sickle-like in a top view, is applied, on the topside (16) of which the driving surface (13) runs and the vertex (17) of which lies radially outside an outer surface area (18) of the extension (7), the coupling piston (12) being displaceable in the coupling direction via the force of a pressure medium (20), such as at least one helical compression spring, acting against the inner end face (19) of the said coupling piston and being displaceable in the decoupling direction via hydraulic medium conductible in front of its outer end face (21), which hydraulic medium can be conducted directly in front of the outer end face (21) of the coupling piston (12) via a feed (22) on the outer surface area (18) in the extension (7), and an anti-twist device (23) running between the housing (3) and the inner part (9) (Fig. 5-8).
- Switchable bucket tappet according to the precharacterizing clause of Claim 1, characterized in that in the bore (8) of the extension (7), only in the circumferential portion in the coupling piston (12), a material clearance (15), sickle-like in a top view, is applied, on the top side (16) of which the driving surface (13) runs and the vertex (17) of which lies radially within the extension (7), the coupling piston (12) being displaceable in the coupling direction via the force of a pressure medium (20), such as at least one helical compression spring, acting against the inner end face (19) of the said coupling piston and being displaceable in the decoupling direction via hydraulic medium conductible in front of its outer end face (21), which hydraulic medium is conducted either a) directly in front of the outer end face (21) of the coupling piston (12) via a feed (22) on the outer surface area (18) of the extension (7) and a passage (24), intersecting the vertex (17), in the extension (7) or b) via a feed (22) on the outer surface area (18) of the extension (7), which feed is connected to a passage (25) which extends approximately orthogonally with respect to the bore (11) for the coupling piston (12) through the extension (7) and which leads to a circumferential-segment-like duct (26) which is formed in the bore (8) of the extension (7) and which issues on the end face into the respective sickle-like material clearance (15) in front of the outer end face (21) of the coupling piston (12), and an anti-twist device (27) running between the housing (3) and the inner part (9) (Fig. 1-4).
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that, inside the housing (3), a thin-walled element (28), such as a sheet-metal part, is laid in place, which follows essentially the inner contour of the said housing, and, starting from at least one passage (29) in the shroud (5), a riser duct (30) for the hydraulic medium is formed into the element (28) and is connected to one or more radial passages (31) between the cam run-on bottom (2) and the element (28), which at least one radial passage (31) communicates radially on the inside with the feed (22) on the outer surface area (18) of the extension (7).
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the housing (3) is at least virtually rotationally symmetrical and in the region of the cam run-on bottom (2) is smooth-surfaced and thin-walled.
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that exactly two coupling pistons (12) are applied in the bore (11) of the inner part (9), such as the radial bore, the at least one helical compression spring running, tensioned, as a pressure medium (20) between the inner end faces (19).
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the coupling piston (12) is provided on its top side (33), starting from the outer end face (21) of the said coupling piston, with a partial flattening (34) which, in the event of coupling, is in contact with the driving surface (13) of a sickle-like material clearance (15), and the coupling piston (12) being guided in the bore (11) of the inner part (9) by means of a rotation prevention device (35).
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 6, characterized in that a ring part is seated in a concentric annular groove (36) in the outer surface area (37) of the inner part (9) and lies as the rotation prevention device (35) on the flattening (34) of the respective coupling piston (12) in the circumferential portion of the latter.
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 2, with reference back to variant b) with the segment-like duct, characterized in that the segment-like duct (26) has a lower height than the sickle-like material clearance (15).
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the inner part (9) is thin-walled and tube-like, the bore (11) for the coupling piston or coupling pistons (12) being applied in a radial web (38) subdividing the inner part (9), and the inner part (9) either being completely free of cam contact or being provided on the cam side with a disc-like bottom which is designed for a run-on of a low-stroke or zero-stroke cam.
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that, as an anti-twist device (23, 27) for the inner part (9) with respect to the housing (3), a machine element, such as a pin/ball, acting between these is provided, which is seated in a pocket (39) of one of the components (9, 3) and which partially extends into a longitudinal groove (40) on the adjacent other component.
- Switchable bucket tappet according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the driving surface (13) is generated by means of a production method, such as side milling, lathe-turning, embossing, beading or rimming.
