Definitions

  • the invention relates to a valve for the flow control and regulation of a ventilator, wherein the valve has a housing and a rotary valve arranged rotatably about its longitudinal axis and wherein at least one passage opening is completely or partially closed by turning the rotary valve and the rotary valve with a a conically shaped support surface of the housing cooperating, conical sealing surface and the passage opening is arranged in the region of the sealing surface.
  • Ventilators are used in both inpatient (e.g., hospital or home care) and mobile (e.g., ambulance) environments. It is very important that these devices work reliably and trouble-free. In order to avoid disturbances of the environment when operating such devices, these devices must also be as quiet as possible during operation.
  • valve From the US 6,615,831 is a respirator with 3/2-way valve known.
  • the valve has a by means of a solenoid axially displaceable spool, which opens in its end positions passages for the coming of a pressure generator respiratory air, and this closes and simultaneously opens separate passages to allow a minimum air consumption for the pressure generator.

This has at its periphery at least one longitudinal slot which can be brought into coincidence with corresponding openings of the housing part surrounding the slider. At the free end of the rotary valve, a control curve is also attached, through which the openings can be exposed only partially.
  • This valve also has the disadvantage that it is never fully sealed in the closed state. To ensure the dynamics of the valve, the rotary valve must be fitted with a certain radial clearance in the housing part. Due to the resulting annular gap, a part of the breathing air can escape and thus adversely affect the desired dosage.
