Definitions
- the present invention relates to a lighting system with an elongate support member to which lighting units are attached.
- the light band system is designed such that the subsequent attachment of transparent covers for the lamp units is made possible.
- Lichtbandsysteme are known in different forms. They are widely used, as they offer a high degree of flexibility in the individual planning of lighting structures compared to fixed or built-in luminaires. Since such systems consist of individual elements that are assembled according to the modular principle, the entire arrangement can be easily adapted to the premises to be illuminated.
- FIG. 1 A well-known lighting system, which, for example, in the DE 100 25 647 A1 the applicant is described in Fig. 1 shown.
- the basic structure of the known lighting strip system 100 is formed by an elongate support rail 10, which is formed by a U-shaped profile element which is open toward the underside.
- This support rail 10 can either be attached directly to a ceiling or suspended and serves to hold several lighting units, wherein in Fig. 1 a single lamp unit is shown, which is provided with the reference numeral 30.
- Fig. 1 only shows a short section of the lighting system 100.
- the support rail 10 is significantly longer than the attached lighting unit 30, so that in general a plurality of lamp units 30 are mounted one behind the other on the support rail 10.
- the lamp unit 30 in turn, initially consists of an elongate cover rail 31, which is attached and secured from the bottom to the support rail 10. With the help of actuators, which are accessible via openings 35 in the covering rail 31, can be both a mechanical attachment to the support rail 10 and an electrical contact within the support rail 10 extending power lines take place.
- the light band system 100 shown here is characterized in that a free arrangement of the lamp units 30 is made possible on the support rail 10, which additionally increases the flexibility of the light band system 100.
- there are also known light band systems in which the lighting units can be arranged only at fixed predetermined positions.
- the lamp unit 30 further has on the two end faces holding elements 32 which serve to hold lamp sockets 33.
- an elongated light source 34 is used in the form of a fluorescent lamp in the illustrated embodiment.
- the power supply of the lamp 34 via lamp operating means, which are arranged on the top of the cover rail 31 and accordingly arranged after mounting the lamp unit 30 in the receiving space 11 of the support rail 10.
- the fastening to the mounting rail lamp units can be designed differently and in particular also have reflectors or other optical elements to influence the light output. Not infrequently, however, also lighting units in the in Fig. 1 used form, which have only the light source, but not other elements which surround the light source. The lighting units are usually mounted directly behind one another on the mounting rail, so that no free space between them.
- the solution according to the invention is based on the idea of using covers which simultaneously cover one or more lighting units, preferably a maximum of three, and which can be detachably fastened to the mounting rail or the lighting unit.
- the covers are designed such that they can expand unhindered in the longitudinal direction, which is achieved in that they have a substantially U-shaped and open at its end faces profile element.
- the invention proposes a continuous-row lighting system with an elongated support element, to which at least one lamp unit is detachably attached with an elongated light source, wherein the lamp unit is associated with an opal cover surrounding the light source, which has an at least partially transparent profile element which is releasably attached to the support element or the lamp unit is fixed, is substantially U-shaped and open at its ends and whose length corresponds approximately to the length of the lamp unit or an integral multiple of the length of the lamp unit.
- the profile element has a length which is slightly shorter than the length of the lamp unit or the integer multiple of the lamp unit.
- the covers are not directly abutting but mounted with a distance of about 5mm. These open spaces allow even in case of high Temperature fluctuations unimpeded expansion of the covers.
- the profile element with the carrier element or the or the lighting units or parts thereof can be latched.
- the subsequently attachable cover in addition to the profile element thereof has separate end portions, which are attachable to the end faces of the lamp units.
- the end parts can be placed or snapped onto the holder holders of the lamp units. These end parts are then overlapped by the cover in such a way that they do not affect the temperature-induced change in length of the cover.
- the end parts are preferably also translucent or opal, which on the one hand brings with it the advantage that they do not map on the cover. Furthermore, the uniform opal impression of the entire arrangement is not disturbed.
- connection element can be used. This is designed such that it can be releasably attached to the support element or the lamp unit as well as the profile elements. It is located here between the individual optics or profile elements and is overlapped by these. The arrangement of the connecting element within the profile elements, the length extension of the profile elements is still not affected. At the same time, however, follows from the inside a cover of the air gap, on the one hand on the other hand, prevents external insects or the like from getting into the interior of the arrangement.
- the present invention provides the ability to retrofit existing trunking systems in a simple manner with transparent covers to improve the overall appearance of the lighting system.
- FIG. 1 shown light band system 100 has already been explained in the introduction, in addition to this on the DE 100 25 647 A1 in which this lighting system is described in detail.
- the present invention is now an addition to this lighting system 100, which makes it possible to subsequently surround the lighting units 30 with a transparent or opal cover, as shown in FIG Fig. 2 is shown.
- the cover 50 is intended to enclose the light sources of the lamp unit 30 or of a plurality of lamp units in the shape of a cuboid, it being understood that other shapes for the cover 50 would also be conceivable.
- the cover 50 is formed on the one hand from a substantially U-shaped profile element 51 and on the other hand from two end portions 60, whose configuration is described below with reference to Fig. 3 to 11 will be explained in more detail.
- the Fig. 3 to 5 initially show the configuration of the U-shaped profile element 51, which can be attached from the bottom to the lighting system 100.
- the bottom side 52 of the profile element 51 as well as the two side walls 53 is formed transparent, so that over all surfaces across a light emission can take place.
- the side walls 53 opaque, if a light output is desired only to the bottom.
- the use of color filters for the different areas would also be conceivable in order to influence the color of the light emitted via the cover 51 in the desired manner.
- the attachment of the profile element 51 to the lamp unit takes place in the illustrated embodiment in that the profile element 51 is latched to the lamp unit.
- the side walls 53 in each case protruding to the inside projections 54 are formed, which allow a simple engagement.
- Fig. 6 which is a section II of the Fig. 2 shows, it is provided that the projections 54 engage in corresponding recesses 36 on the covering rail 31 of the lamp unit 30.
- the cover profile 51 can be attached in a simple manner from the bottom to the lamp unit 30 and locked with this.
- a locking with the support rail 10 would be conceivable.
- the sectional view in Fig. 6 also shows the lamp operating device 40 and the contacting element 41 for mechanically anchoring the lamp unit 30 to the support rail 10 and for electrical contact, but these elements will not be discussed in more detail below, since they are already known from the prior art.
- a special feature of the profile element 51 is further that this is open at its end faces and its length is matched to the length of the lamp unit 30.
- the profile element 51 is slightly shorter than the lamp unit 30.
- the lighting units 30 are arranged directly following one another, this has the consequence that the subsequently attached thereto Profile elements 50 each have a slight distance from each other. For example. this distance is about 5mm in the assembled state, with the result that due to temperature changes resulting changes in length of the profile elements 51 can be collected. Despite all this, the impression of a transparent cover covering the luminaire units 30 over the entire length is essentially retained.
- each lamp unit must be assigned a separate cover. It would also be conceivable to surround a plurality, but preferably a maximum of three, lighting units simultaneously with the cover. In this case, then the length of the profile element corresponds approximately to the total length of the surrounding lighting units, but is preferably again slightly shorter, in order to catch a temperature-induced change in length can.
- Fig. 7 to 9 The design of the end parts, which are preferably also designed to be transparent, is in the Fig. 7 to 9 shown, where Fig. 7 a perspective view, Fig. 8 a side view as well Fig. 9 shows a view of the end parts from the top.
- the end parts 60 initially have a plate 61 whose dimensions correspond to the inner cross section of the profile element 51.
- a pocket 62 is then formed, which makes it possible to put the front part 60 on a socket holder of the lamp unit 30 and to lock with this.
- the pocket 62 has accordingly on its underside a rounding, which corresponds to the shape of a conventional frame holder.
- protruding snap elements 63 are provided to the inside, which allow a snap.
- the top of the plate 61 is further designed such that the front part 60 in the mounted state clings as closely as possible to the lamp unit 30.
- Fig. 10 in this case shows the end portion of a mounted on a mounting rail 10 lamp unit 30 while while Fig. 11 the same section with mounted front part 60 shows.
- the representation in Fig. 10 it can be seen that recesses 37 are formed on the sides of the holder holders, into which the snap elements 63 of the end parts 60 can engage. To mount the end portions 60, these are thus attached from the bottom to the lamp unit 30 and pushed up so that the bag 62 is pushed onto the socket holder 32 until finally the snap elements 63 engage in the recesses 37. As a result, a secure mounting of the end parts 60 is made possible. The subsequent mounting of the end portions 60 is accordingly very easy to perform.
- the end parts 60 are also preferably transparent, as explained above. As a result, they are not transparent Sign profile elements 51 and accordingly the impression of the lamp units completely enclosing transparent cover is reinforced. Further, the end portions 60 prevent insects or large dust particles from entering the interior of the cover 50, which would unfavorably appear as dark spots. Ultimately, therefore, a degree of protection for the transparent cover 50 according to IP40 can be achieved by the combined use of the profile element 51 with the end portions 60.
- the end parts are also designed such that they do not hinder the temperature-induced change in length of the elongated profile elements 51. These can slide along the outer sides of the end parts 60 unhindered, so that at any time a complete enclosure of the lamp units 30 is ensured.
- the height between the rear wall of the pocket 62 and the plate 61 of a front part is about 9mm to 10mm. This height has been found to be optimal to compensate for temperature-related longitudinal expansions of the cover 50, provided that covers a maximum of three lighting units simultaneously. If the length of the profile element 51 is such that several lamp units are enclosed at the same time, it goes without saying that the end parts 60 are mounted exclusively on the respective last socket holders of the entire arrangement.
- FIGS. 12-16 show here different views of a connecting element 70, which is designed plate-shaped.
- the approximately in the cross-sectional shape of a profile element 51 corresponding plate 71 is in this case at the bottom and laterally surrounded by a U-shaped frame 72, wherein the side walls 73 of the frame 72 projecting at their upper ends to the inside Have projections 74.
- These projections 74 serve to lock the connecting element 70 to the mounting rail 100 or the lamp unit 30.
- the connecting element 70 is shown arranged such that the plate 71 is located between the socket holders 32 of two adjacent lamp units 30.
- the peripheral frame 72 is dimensioned such that it covers the air gap between two adjoining profile elements 51. Strictly speaking, the shape of the frame 72 is selected such that the profile elements 51 overlap it and can accordingly continue to expand or contract unhindered in the event of temperature changes.
- the connecting element 70 is thus arranged completely within the profile elements 51, but in such a way that in principle the gap between two profile elements 51 is closed.
- the connecting elements 70 are preferably made of a transparent material, which has the advantage that no dark spots occur in the abutting region of two adjacent profile elements 51, since the light is not sealed off by the connecting elements 70. Again, however, the advantage is obtained that the penetration of insects or other particles, which could lead to dark spots, is largely prevented.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a lighting system with an elongate support member to which lighting units are attached. The light band system is designed such that the subsequent attachment of transparent covers for the lamp units is made possible.
Lichtbandsysteme are known in different forms. They are widely used, as they offer a high degree of flexibility in the individual planning of lighting structures compared to fixed or built-in luminaires. Since such systems consist of individual elements that are assembled according to the modular principle, the entire arrangement can be easily adapted to the premises to be illuminated.

The
The
It has now been found that there is often the need to be able to surround the light sources with a transparent, for example. Cuboid cover in such light bands, in which such simple lighting units are used. Such covers allow on the one hand to influence the light emitted by the light source, on the other hand, they are often desired for optical reasons. In this case, however, there is the problem that such transparent covers due to the material used here as a result of temperature fluctuations relatively greatly expand or contract, which can lead to not inconsiderable problems during operation.
Accordingly, it is the object of the present invention to provide the possibility of subsequently assigning a transparent or opal cover to the lamp units in a continuous-row lighting system of the type described above.
The object is achieved by a lighting strip system, which has the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The solution according to the invention is based on the idea of using covers which simultaneously cover one or more lighting units, preferably a maximum of three, and which can be detachably fastened to the mounting rail or the lighting unit. In this case, the covers are designed such that they can expand unhindered in the longitudinal direction, which is achieved in that they have a substantially U-shaped and open at its end faces profile element.
Accordingly, the invention proposes a continuous-row lighting system with an elongated support element, to which at least one lamp unit is detachably attached with an elongated light source, wherein the lamp unit is associated with an opal cover surrounding the light source, which has an at least partially transparent profile element which is releasably attached to the support element or the lamp unit is fixed, is substantially U-shaped and open at its ends and whose length corresponds approximately to the length of the lamp unit or an integral multiple of the length of the lamp unit.
Preferably, it is provided that the profile element has a length which is slightly shorter than the length of the lamp unit or the integer multiple of the lamp unit. In cases where several lamp units are mounted directly successively on the mounting rail, it is then provided that the covers are not directly abutting but mounted with a distance of about 5mm. These open spaces allow even in case of high Temperature fluctuations unimpeded expansion of the covers. Preferably, it is provided that the profile element with the carrier element or the or the lighting units or parts thereof can be latched.
Another problem with the use of such transparent covers is that insects that reach the inside of the cover and end up, are visible from the outside as a dark, unsightly stains. To avoid such effects in the lighting system according to the present invention, it is provided according to a particularly preferred embodiment that the subsequently attachable cover in addition to the profile element thereof has separate end portions, which are attachable to the end faces of the lamp units. In this case, it is particularly preferably provided that the end parts can be placed or snapped onto the holder holders of the lamp units. These end parts are then overlapped by the cover in such a way that they do not affect the temperature-induced change in length of the cover. The end parts are preferably also translucent or opal, which on the one hand brings with it the advantage that they do not map on the cover. Furthermore, the uniform opal impression of the entire arrangement is not disturbed.
The arrangement of the end portions described above is of course only at the two ends of the entire arrangement. In the joint area between two adjacent profile elements, however, use of these end pieces is not meaningful, so that here an air gap of about 5mm would remain, which allows the expansion of the profile elements with temperature fluctuations. Since, for optical reasons, however, such air gaps should be avoided, according to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, in addition a special connection element can be used.
Ultimately, the present invention provides the ability to retrofit existing trunking systems in a simple manner with transparent covers to improve the overall appearance of the lighting system.

A special feature of the
It should be noted that not necessarily each lamp unit must be assigned a separate cover.
The end parts 60 initially have a
The end parts 60 are also preferably transparent, as explained above. As a result, they are not transparent
Finally, the end parts are also designed such that they do not hinder the temperature-induced change in length of the
The connecting
Ultimately, therefore, the possibility is created by the previously described transparent cover, retrofit lighting systems in a simple manner. This represents a significant relief compared to known solutions. So far, a supplementing of the systems with optics, which require end caps, so far was only possible if the lighting units were subsequently postponed or postponed to a free space for attaching the already installed light strips To allow end caps. By using the U-shaped profile elements, which are preferably formed as extruded plastic parts, this subsequent displacement of already installed lighting units, however, is no longer necessary. Despite all, the complementary use of the end parts and connecting elements complete enclosure of the lamp units can be achieved.
