Wie in den Figuren 2 und 3 schematisch dargestellt, wird zur Erzeugung eines akustischen Signals der elektrische Antrieb 5 in geeigneter Weise gesteuert, so dass die an ihn direkt gekoppelte Getriebeeinrichtung 4 und bevorzugt auch der an ihn indirekt über die Getriebeeinrichtung 4 gekoppelte Schubkasten 2 sowie der an diesem befestigte Möbelkorpus 11 in Schwingungen versetzt werden. Auch der Korpus des elektrischen Antriebs 5 selbst kann einen Resonanzkörper zur Erzeugung eines akustischen Signals bilden. D.h. mit anderen Worten, der elektrische Antrieb 5 nutzt die mit ihm gekoppelten Bauteile als Resonanzkörper zur Erzeugung eines akustischen Signals. Dazu wird der elektrische Antrieb 5 während der ersten halben Periode des zu erzeugenden Tones im Linkslauf und während der zweiten halben Periode des zu erzeugenden Tones im Rechtslauf betrieben oder umgekehrt. Der elektrische Antrieb 5 vollzieht hierbei während der kurzen Impulse aufgrund der Massenträgheit nur eine minimale Bewegung, die von außen nicht feststellbar ist. Die auf diese Weise erzeugten Einzelbewegungen in die jeweilige Drehrichtung kompensieren sich in der Summe. Dadurch befindet sich der elektrische Antrieb 5 im Quasistillstand. Dieses schrittweise Vor- und Zurückfahren des elektrischen Antriebs 5 bewirkt eine akustische Erregung des elektrischen Antriebs und der sich mit dem elektrischen Antrieb 5 im Eingriff befindlichen Komponenten in der Weise, dass die Bewegungsenergie in Schallenergie umgewandelt wird.
