Die Bitbox wird zum Öffnen auseinandergeklappt, wobei sie eine x-förmige Struktur annimmt, von der die Bits griffbereit zur Entnahme dargeboten werden. Zum Schließen brauchen lediglich die oberen Hälften des Entnahmekörpers und des Deckels gegeneinander gedrückt zu werden, was mit einer Hand geschehen kann. Der Bithalter ist im unteren Bereich der Bitbox untergebracht. Nach dem Öffnen der Bitbox wird die Bithalter-Aufnahme freigegeben. Der Bithalter ist somit leicht zugänglich. Vorzugsweise ist er in der Bithalter-Aufnahme nicht verrastet oder fixiert, so dass er leicht herausgleiten kann. Der Bithalter ist dasjenige Teil, das bei Benutzung eines Bits in jedem Fall benötigt wird. Während für den einzelnen Bit noch nicht feststeht, ob er aus der Bitbox herausgenommen wird, muss der Bithalter in jedem Fall entnommen werden. Dies wird dadurch begünstigt, dass er nicht in besonderer Weise fixiert ist.
