Description

The invention relates to a cutting member for a saw chain of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.

From the DE 1 813 567 A For example, a saw blade cutting member is known that has a substantially planar base plate with flat sides parallel to each other. In this base plate openings are provided which receive rivets for connection with other chain links. Attached to the base plate is a cutting tooth which protrudes slightly beyond the rear end of a recess in the base plate. The cutting tooth is made of a hard metal and is connected to the base plate by brazing.

The known cutting tooth is relatively bulky in terms of its design and, for a reliable connection, it is provided that the cutting tooth engages over the base plate on both sides at its upper edge. As a result, the design of the cutting tooth is complicated, and this leads to a high production cost.

From the WO 2004/113035 A2 a cutting member for a saw chain is known, which consists of a base body and a cutting tooth attached thereto. The main body is provided with a laterally projecting, in the running direction of the cutting member tapered wedge, which serves for the positive reception of the cutting tooth. The cutting tooth has a substantially U-shaped cross-section with a corresponding lateral groove, which has a complementary shape to the base body, so that the cutting tooth is attached by attaching to the base body. The cutting tooth consists of a carbide.

It can be seen that this design of the main body and cutting tooth is extremely expensive and leads to very high costs, especially because the mass of the necessary hard metal is relatively large.

The present invention has for its object to provide a cutting member of the generic type, in which a reliable attachment of the cutting tooth on the body is given even with simple shaping of the cutting tooth and small-sized cutting members.

This object is achieved by a cutting member with the features of claim 1.

The cutting element according to the invention is simple in construction and therefore inexpensive to produce. Due to the large connecting surface for the cohesive connection a secure hold of the cutting tooth on the body is given. The attachment the rivets during assembly of the saw chain is not hindered due to the special shape of the cutting tooth, in the rivet opening adjacent area.

According to an expedient development of the cutting member, a chamfer is provided at the lower edge of the connecting leg. This chamfer favors the chip flow. In addition, it is expedient that the edge extends obliquely upward in the direction of a rear end of the base body at an angle to a horizontal axis. The angle of this edge with respect to a horizontal of the main body is preferably in the range of about 15 °. For the brazing connection of cutting tooth and body a silver solder is particularly suitable. The soldering temperatures are between 700 ° C and 750 ° C, d. H. in a temperature range that does not adversely affect the cured material in the functional area of the cutting tooth.

The side cutting edge of the cutting tooth is preferably designed in the form of a groove. In this case, the side cutting on the side facing the base body on a chamfer, wherein the chamfer angle relative to the longitudinal direction of the cutting member is about 40 °.

To improve the chip flow, a chamfer is arranged on the recess for chip removal in the rear region thereof. At the upper edge of the main body, a stop is formed, against which a rear end of the cutting tooth. This is given in the longitudinal direction of the cutting member in addition a positive connection of the main body and cutting tooth. It is also expedient that the cutting tooth covers the recess to such an extent that the grinding of the cutting without removal of material of the body is possible.

Fig. 5 shows a section along the line VV in Fig. 1 , which also shows that the base body 2 is a flat board. The cutting tooth 3 lies with its roof portion 7 on the upper edge 18 of the base body 2 and with its connecting leg 8 at the portion 19. At the areas marked by the reference numerals 18 and 19, the cohesive connection by means of brazing. Furthermore, it can be seen that the outer side of the connecting leg 8 is slightly inclined downwards to the main body 2 and, starting at the edge 15, an oblique surface 17 adjoins the main body 2.

In Fig. 6 a cutting member 1 is shown with a left cutting tooth 3, wherein the base body 2 and the cutting tooth 3 with respect to the direction A exactly mirror images of that of Fig. 1 are formed. Out Fig. 6 it can be seen that the side cutting edge 12 is designed in the form of a groove 20, wherein this shape is produced by grinding of the carbide cutting tooth 3. The cutting tooth 3 protrudes by the dimension S laterally along the recess 6, so that the roof cutting edge 11 and the side cutting edge 12 are effectively brought into engagement with the material to be cut. The chips are removed in the recess 6 to the rear or bottom. To further improve the chip flow, a chamfer 21 is arranged in the rear region of the recess 6. Incidentally, for the same parts, the reference numerals with those of Fig. 1 match.

Fig. 7 shows the view of the cutting member 1 in the direction of arrow VII in Fig. 6 , It is clear that these are the in Fig. 6 mentioned mirror image arrangement acts as the comparison with Fig. 2 shows. For identical parts, therefore, the reference numerals agree with those of Fig. 2 match.

The Fig. 8 shows a section along the line VIII-VIII in Fig. 6 , This illustration also shows that the cutting tooth 3 partially covers the recess 6 laterally, in the initial state by the dimension S, as well as Fig. 6 described. With a required regrinding of the cutting tooth 3, the dimension S is reduced. Further grinding beyond the chamfer 21 is also possible, this being a co-grinding of steel and carbide.
