Due to the large connecting surface for the cohesive connection a secure hold of the cutting tooth on the body is given. The attachment the rivets during assembly of the saw chain is not hindered due to the special shape of the cutting tooth, in the rivet opening adjacent area.
According to an expedient development of the cutting member, a chamfer is provided at the lower edge of the connecting leg. This chamfer favors the chip flow. In addition, it is expedient that the edge extends obliquely upward in the direction of a rear end of the base body at an angle to a horizontal axis. The angle of this edge with respect to a horizontal of the main body is preferably in the range of about 15 °. For the brazing connection of cutting tooth and body a silver solder is particularly suitable. The soldering temperatures are between 700 ° C and 750 ° C, d. H. in a temperature range that does not adversely affect the cured material in the functional area of the cutting tooth.
The side cutting edge of the cutting tooth is preferably designed in the form of a groove. In this case, the side cutting on the side facing the base body on a chamfer, wherein the chamfer angle relative to the longitudinal direction of the cutting member is about 40 °.
To improve the chip flow, a chamfer is arranged on the recess for chip removal in the rear region thereof. At the upper edge of the main body, a stop is formed, against which a rear end of the cutting tooth. This is given in the longitudinal direction of the cutting member in addition a positive connection of the main body and cutting tooth. It is also expedient that the cutting tooth covers the recess to such an extent that the grinding of the cutting without removal of material of the body is possible.
