- the mass, poring and setting properties of the inert polymer does not differ significantly from that of the mixed polymer/explosive and therefore provides an exceptionally stable inert filling for the first stage of the filling process.
- Other inert materials may be used given the need to prevent any adverse chemical or physical reaction with the bomb case or the live explosive fill.
- Certain lining materials may be used between the bomb case and the inert filing and between the inert filling and the live filling in order to provide specific protection from any possible interaction of the components.
- This invention can be used for filling new bombs and for re-filling old bombs that have had their previous explosive fill removed.
