Das Betätigungselement kann im Besonderen als Scheibe ausgebildet sein. Mit Hilfe der Haushaltsgerätebedienvorrichtung 10 ist eine Vielzahl von Bedienvorgängen durchführbar. Beispielsweise kann der Backofen bei 185°C im Betriebsmodus "Ober-/Unterhitze" betrieben werden. Mittels Drehen des Betätigungselements 14 kann die gewünschte Temperatur in 5°C-Schritten angewählt werden. Durch Betätigen des Touchelements 13 wird der Backvorgang gestartet. Als Hinweis darauf, dass der Backofen in Betrieb ist, wird das Touchelement 13 farblich hinterlegt. Nach einer bestimmten Zeit ohne Bedienbefehle eines Benutzers kehrt die Anzeigeeinheit 17 in den inaktiven Modus zurück. Beispielsweise kann dann nachträglich eine Betriebszeitdauer von dreiundzwanzig Minuten hinzugefügt werden. Durch Betätigen des Touchelements 12 wird die Anzeigeeinheit 17 aktiviert und die Timerfunktion in der Zeile 32 direkt angewählt. Die Anzeige in der Zeile 32 wechselt von einem Uhrensymbol des inaktiven Zustands zur Anzeige der ersten Timerfunktion der möglichen Funktionen. Gleichzeitig wird in der Zeile 34 eine Vorschlagszeit angezeigt. Zum Ändern der Timerfunktion muss das Betätigungselement 14 um die Achse 24 gedreht werden. Es wird die Timerfunktion "Betriebszeitdauer" angewählt. Zum Einstellen der Betriebszeitdauer wird das Betätigungselement 14 einmal in vertikaler Richtung nach unten geklickt. Damit ist die Zeile 34 aktiviert. Durch drehen des Betätigungselement 14 um die Achse 24 werden dreiundzwanzig Minuten eingestellt. Durch Drücken des Touchelements 13 wird die Timerfunktion aktiviert und der Backvorgang nach dreiundzwanzig Minuten gestoppt. Das Touchelement 12 wird als Hinweis darauf, dass eine Timerfunktion gewählt wurde, farblich hinterlegt. Das Haushaltsgerätebetriebsmenü 19 besitzt mehrere Menüebenen. In einer ersten Menüebene kann ein Erhitzungsmodus des Backofens ausgewählt werden. Dies kann durch Drehen des Betätigungselements 14 in horizontaler Richtung geschehen.
