Description

The invention relates to a terminal block for telecommunication and data technology for contacting a printed circuit board.

Terminal strips for contacting a printed circuit board usually comprise a housing in which contact elements are arranged, wherein the contact elements comprise a first contact for connecting wires or lines and a further contact for contacting a printed circuit board. The further contacts may be formed, for example, as a solder pin, press-fit or fork contact. In the case of the last two types of contact, the connection must be established by applying mechanical force to the terminal strip. Such a mechanical force always carries the risk that it will affect the terminal block.

The invention is therefore based on the technical problem of providing a terminal block for contacting a printed circuit board, where despite mechanical force, the risk of adverse effects on the terminal block is minimized.

Die Dokumente DE 102 57 308 B3 und EP 0 308 635 A2 zeigen jeweils die Merkmale des Oberbegriffs von Anspruch 1.The documents DE 102 57 308 B3 and EP 0 308 635 A2 each show the features of the preamble of claim 1.

The solution of the technical problem results from the subject matter with the features of claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims.

For this purpose, the terminal block for telecommunication and data technology comprises a housing and at least two contact elements, wherein the contact element comprises a first contact for connecting wires or lines and a second contact for contacting a printed circuit board, wherein the second contact as Einpressstift-contact or as a fork contact is formed, wherein the first contact is aligned with the top and the second contact to the bottom of the Housing is aligned, wherein the first contacts are arranged laterally offset to the longitudinal axis of the housing and at least one rib is disposed on the opposite side, so that forms a trench between the first contacts and the rib, wherein the contact element is formed with a tab, which is aligned over the second contact to the top of the housing and disposed below the trench. As a result, the trench forms a defined pressure surface, wherein a force effect, for example by means of a tool, is exerted on the surface of the trench on the tab and the second contact arranged underneath. Thus, no force must be applied to the first contacts and their existing dome, for example, which could lead to damage of the plastic housing, either by deformation or breaking off the plastic or because the first contacts could drill into the housing. This is effectively prevented by the defined pressure surface, wherein the tab is preferably in direct line of force to the second contact. Preferably, first and second contacts and the tab are formed integrally.

In a preferred embodiment, the contact element comprises a third contact, which is formed as a fork contact, aligned to the top and disposed below the rib, wherein the rib is formed with insertion openings for a surge protector or overvoltage protection magazine. Alternatively or additionally, the third contact can also be used as a measuring tap or as a monitor access. It can then be selected depending on the requirement instead of a fork contact and another type of contact.

In a further preferred embodiment, the terminal block comprises at least one ground contact element, wherein the ground contact element aligned to the top of the housing first contact and at least one aligned to the underside of the housing second contact comprises.

About this ground contact element can then be grounded through the ground connection of the surge arresters via the circuit board to a ground potential. Preferably, the terminal block has two ground contact elements.

In a further preferred embodiment, the second contact of the ground contact element is designed as a press-in pin contact or as a fork contact, whereas the first contact is preferably designed as a fork contact.

In a further preferred embodiment, the first contact of the contact element is designed as insulation displacement contact, wherein more preferably the cutting edges are exposed at an angle of 45 °.

Further preferably, the first contact of the ground contact element is higher than the third contact of the contact elements with respect to their contact area, so that when inserting an overvoltage protection plug or an overvoltage protection magazine first the ground connection is made before the surge arresters the wires via the third and first contacts electrically to contact.

In a further preferred embodiment, the surge arresters are arranged on a printed circuit board, wherein these are preferably arranged in two rows, wherein in one row the longitudinal axis of the surge arresters are aligned parallel to one side edge of the printed circuit board and in the other row parallel to an upper edge of the printed circuit board , Preferably, in the housing arranged in the magazine ribs, which prevent uncontrolled moving the surge arrester after tripping.

To further stabilize the terminal block on the circuit board further plastic pins may be provided, which are preferably parallel to the second contacts of the contact element.

In the Fig. 1 a terminal block 1 is shown, which comprises a preferably two-part housing 2. The housing 2 has an upper side 3 and a lower side 4. On the top 3, two cuboids 5 are arranged with groove-shaped indentations 6, between which domes 7 are arranged. Cuboid 5 and dome 7 are arranged laterally offset from the longitudinal axis L of the terminal block 1. On the opposite side a rib 8 is arranged on the upper side 3, so that a trench 9 is formed between the cuboids 5 and domes 7 and the rib 8, which is almost U-shaped, wherein the height of the rib 8 is slightly less than that of the cuboid 5 and 7 dome. The rib 8 is formed with insertion openings 10, whose function will be explained in more detail later.

In the housing 2 contact elements 11 are arranged, which are integrally formed, wherein a contact element in Fig. 5 is shown. The contact element 11 comprises a first contact 12, which is designed as insulation displacement contact, a second contact 13, which is formed as Einpressstift-contact and a third contact 14, which is designed as a fork contact. In the inserted state, the first and third contacts 12, 14 are aligned towards the upper side 3 of the housing 2, whereas the second contact 13 is aligned with the lower side 4. Above the second contact 13, a tab 15 is arranged. Between tab 15 and the third contact 14 is a cutout, so that the third contact 14, but also the second contact 13, something can spring and so can compensate for example, certain tolerances. The tab 15 is preferably arranged centrally to the second contact 13. Now, if the contact element 11 is pushed from below into the housing 2, the first contact 12 between two domes 7 and the third contact 14 is below the insertion slot 10, whereas the tab 15 is located below the trench 9. After insertion of the contact elements 11 then, for example, a lower part 16 (see Fig. 4a and Fig. 4b ) latched to support the contact elements 11, wherein the second contacts 13 protrude through the lower part 16 to be inserted into holes of a printed circuit board, not shown. In addition to the contact elements 11, two earth contact elements 17 are arranged in the terminal block 1, which preferably have a larger diameter than the second contacts 13 of the contact elements 11. The ground contact elements 17 are arranged in the area of the cuboid 5. As in Fig. 4a is recognizable, comprises the earth contact element 17, a first contact 18, which is aligned towards the top and formed as a fork contact, and a second contact 19 which is formed as Einpressstift-contact and the lower part 16 pierces. A wide tab 20 supports the ground contact element 17, wherein between the tab 20 and the first contact 18 is a free cut. Accordingly, the position of the contact element 11 in the housing in Fig. 4b recognizable.

If now the terminal block 1 are pressed onto a printed circuit board, not shown, it can be exerted on the trench 9, which forms a defined pressure surface, a force which is transmitted directly to the second contacts 13, without causing torsions, plastic deformations or a Penetration of the contacts 12 comes into the plastic housing. The rib 8 is pulled up so that it acts as a stop edge for a Beschaltungswerkzeug the insulation displacement contacts and thus prevents wiring from the wrong side.

In the Fig. 6 an overvoltage protection magazine 21 is shown. The overvoltage protection magazine 21 comprises a housing 22 in which a printed circuit board 23 (see FIGS. 7 and 8 ) is arranged with surge arresters 24. In this case, a three-pole surge arrester 24 serves in each case to protect a double core. For the mechanical connection of the overvoltage protection magazine 21 with the terminal block, the housing 22 web-shaped ribs 25, which form a tongue and groove connection with the groove-shaped indentations 6. The circuit board 23 has notches on one side, so that insertion tongues 26 form, which are metallized accordingly to enter into an electrical connection with the third contacts 14 of the contact elements 11. About the first contacts 12 then the wires to be connected to the surge arresters are connected. Accordingly, the ground connections of the surge arrester 24 on the Printed circuit board 23 summarized and connected via the outer insertion tabs 26 with the contacts 18 of the ground contact element 17. Like now Fig. 8 can be seen, the surge arrester 24 are arranged in two rows, wherein in one row, the longitudinal axis of the surge arrester 24 are aligned parallel to a side edge 27 of the circuit board 23 and in the other row parallel to an upper edge 28 of the circuit board 23. In order to prevent now that after triggering a surge arrester 24, this moves undefined in the housing 22, the housing 22 is formed with ribs 29 which hold the surge arrester 24 in a defined position.

In the Fig. 9 Finally, a connected to the overvoltage protection magazine 21 terminal block 1 is shown.
