Definitions
- connection arrangement between a coax cable and the knives of a rear wall wiring board within a module frame in which the rear wall wiring board is continuously equipped with contact knives arranged in a rectangular pattern and in each case a contact knife carrying an electrical signal is surrounded by contact knives connected to shielding potential, whereby by means of a Plug of the inner conductor of the cable is connected to the signal-carrying contact knife via a contact spring arranged inside the plug, and the braided shield of the cable is connected to the contact knives located at shield potential via spring tongues arranged in the front region of the plug.
- connection arrangement of the type mentioned is known, which does not have these disadvantages and which allows a simple connection of coaxial cables to the knives of a rear wall, without additional intervention, for example in the form of an opening in the backplane wiring board must be made and sufficient shielding is guaranteed for each connection.
- connection cannot absorb any tensile forces which are exerted on the cable. If such a tensile force occurs, the connection can be unintentionally released.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a connection arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset which is capable of absorbing tensile forces acting on the cable.
- connection arrangement With the help of the connection arrangement according to the invention, it is possible in a simple manner to create a connection between a coax cable and the lines of a rear wall wiring board, in which tensile forces acting on the cable do not lead to an unintentional disconnection of the connection.
- connection arrangement is characterized in that the latching button has in its front area an outwardly directed circular bead which is encompassed by a spring collar located on the head of the plug, and that a guide part with a square cross section is located between the spring collar and spring tongues is provided, which has cuts on its outer edges and corners, the contours of which match the contours of the side of the adjacent contact blade facing the plug.
- a further particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that a fastening disk is embedded within the latching button in the area of the opening , which is provided with an opening for inserting the contact knife, and is rotated such that parts of the inner edges of the fastening disks cut into the contact knife and parts of the outer edges of the fastening disks into the material of the locking button.
- connection arrangement Accordingly advantageous configurations of the connection arrangement according to the invention result from the subclaims and the following description of an exemplary embodiment.
- connection arrangement essentially consists of the plug to be described in more detail, the latching button 6 and the contact knife of the rear wall wiring board 9 belonging to the connection.
- the latching button 6 is placed over the contact knife carrying the electrical signal and rests on the rear wall wiring board 9 .
- the fastening of the locking button 6 by means of the fastening disk 7 will be explained later.
- the contact knife carrying the electrical signal in each case is surrounded by eight contact knives 8 connected to screen potential.
- the incoming coax cable 14 is terminated by a coax connector.
- the coax connector consists of the plastic housing 1, the pressure sleeve 3 and the crimp sleeve 4, as well as the feathered spring ring 2a with the spring tongues 2b.
- a contact spring 5 in the inside of the plug, which is in fixed contact with the inner conductor 10 of the coax cable 14. By means of this contact spring 5, contact is made with the contact knife carrying the electrical signal.
- the cable braid shield 12 of the coax cable 14 is placed over a pressure sleeve 3, which has previously been put onto the coax cable 14.
- a crimp sleeve is then pushed over the arrangement from the cable side, so that the cable braid shield 12 is firmly contacted between the pressure sleeve 3 and the crimp sleeve 4 with the feathered spring ring 2a.
- the assembly and strain relief essentially correspond to the constructive solutions of the currently known coax connectors.
- the braided screen 12 is squeezed over the crimp sleeve 4 with the feathered spring ring 2a underneath onto the pressure sleeve 3 with a commercially available hand tool, whereby the strain relief for the inner conductor is realized.
- the feathered spring ring 2a is secured with claws 11 which engage in the plastic housing 1.
- the feathered spring ring 2a ends in four spring tongues 2b, which connect the braided shield 12 of the coaxial cable 14 to the adjacent contact blades 8 carrying the shielding potential.
- a spring collar 16 is provided, which is circular and engages around the bead 15 of the locking button 6 and thus locks the plug.
- a guide part 22 is provided above the spring ring 16 in the direction of the cable in the connector according to the present invention. This guide part 22 has a square circumference, as can be seen particularly from FIG. On the sides and corners of this Cutouts 22 are provided which correspond to the adjacent contact blades. In this way, a forced guidance of the plug is achieved when plugged in, thereby ensuring that all spring tongues 2b also contact the contact blades 8 carrying the shield potential.
- the detent button 6 is firmly connected to the contact knife carrying the electrical signal by means of a fastening disk 7 in the resting state on the rear wall wiring plate 9.
- the fastening disk is a disk as shown in FIGS. 3 to 5.
- Figure 3 shows a top view
- Figure 4 shows a cross section
- Figure 5 shows a longitudinal section of the mounting disc 7.
- the outer dimensions of the mounting disc 7 are substantially rectangular.
- the longer outer edges are straight and each have projections 20 in the middle.
- the projections 20 are in the installed state of the fastening disk under embossments, not shown here, which hold the disk in position after insertion into the locking button.
- the shorter outer edges of the fastening disk 7 are designed in the shape of a circular arc.
- the opening 17 of the mounting disk 7 is designed in the form of a nozzle, which facilitates the attachment process to the contact knife.
- the dimensions of the opening 17 correspond essentially to the cross section of the contact knife.
- Another advantage of the nozzle-shaped opening 17 is that a sharp inner edge is created.
- recesses 21 are provided, into which pins of a turning tool can engage for rotating the fastening disks.
- the fastening disk is rotated using a turning tool. If a clockwise direction of rotation is assumed, it can be seen from FIG. 3 that all four sharp inner edges 18 are in the material of the Cut the contact knife while the upper right and lower left corners of the mounting disc cut into the material of the locking button 6. This cutting into the material of the locking button 6 is favored by the circular arc-shaped design of the shorter outer edges. After the fastening discs have been rotated, there is thus a positive anchoring between the contact blade of the fastening disc and the locking button. This ensures that the plug is pulled and inserted several times safely.
- the connector shown in the drawing has a base area of 5 x 5 mm with a pitch of the contact blades of 2.5 mm and can be plugged onto the rear wall wiring board without loss of pitch.
- connection arrangement according to the invention coaxial connections can be realized with the rear wall wiring board without perforating it and without additional interventions in the structure of the rear wall wiring board.
- the earth points can be contacted together by two plugs.

Description
Connection arrangement between a coax cable and the knives of a rear wall wiring board within a module frame, in which the rear wall wiring board is continuously equipped with contact knives arranged in a rectangular pattern and in each case a contact knife carrying an electrical signal is surrounded by contact knives connected to shielding potential, whereby by means of a Plug of the inner conductor of the cable is connected to the signal-carrying contact knife via a contact spring arranged inside the plug, and the braided shield of the cable is connected to the contact knives located at shield potential via spring tongues arranged in the front region of the plug.
The problem arises more and more frequently that a coax cable must be electrically connected to lines of a rear wall wiring board. For this purpose, conventional and expensive coax plugs were generally used, which were plugged in directly together with the module and, due to their size, required a relatively large hole in the rear wall wiring plate. Since ever larger amounts of data can be transported faster and more safely, the problem of shielding is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, through holes in the backplane wiring board are very disadvantageous with a large number of coax connectors, since this leads to large resolution and shielding problems.
From US-A-4 494 816 a connection arrangement of the type mentioned is known, which does not have these disadvantages and which allows a simple connection of coaxial cables to the knives of a rear wall, without additional intervention, for example in the form of an opening in the backplane wiring board must be made and sufficient shielding is guaranteed for each connection.
A disadvantage of this known connection arrangement is that the connection cannot absorb any tensile forces which are exerted on the cable. If such a tensile force occurs, the connection can be unintentionally released.
The object of the present invention is to provide a connection arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset which is capable of absorbing tensile forces acting on the cable.
This object is achieved according to the invention for a connection arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset in that the signal-carrying contact knife protrudes through an opening in a latching button resting on the rear wall wiring plate, which is firmly connected to the contact knife carrying the electrical signal, and in that the plug on the Locking button can be snapped on, the braided shield of the cable being connected to the spring tongues, which are openly bent outwards, via a feathered spring collar arranged between an outer crimp sleeve and the plastic housing of the plug.
With the help of the connection arrangement according to the invention, it is possible in a simple manner to create a connection between a coax cable and the lines of a rear wall wiring board, in which tensile forces acting on the cable do not lead to an unintentional disconnection of the connection.
An advantageous embodiment of the connection arrangement according to the invention is characterized in that the latching button has in its front area an outwardly directed circular bead which is encompassed by a spring collar located on the head of the plug, and that a guide part with a square cross section is located between the spring collar and spring tongues is provided, which has cuts on its outer edges and corners, the contours of which match the contours of the side of the adjacent contact blade facing the plug. This way it becomes a safe one Guidance of the plug before it snaps into effect, so that the outwardly bent open spring tongues lie exactly against the adjacent contact blades carrying the shield potential.
A further particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that a fastening disk is embedded within the latching button in the area of the opening , which is provided with an opening for inserting the contact knife, and is rotated such that parts of the inner edges of the fastening disks cut into the contact knife and parts of the outer edges of the fastening disks into the material of the locking button.
Thus, a fixed connection between the signal-carrying contact knife, locking button and rear wall wiring plate is easily established.
Further advantageous configurations of the connection arrangement according to the invention result from the subclaims and the following description of an exemplary embodiment.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.
- 1 shows a longitudinal section through a connection arrangement according to the present invention,
- Figure 2 shows a cross section through a plurality of juxtaposed connection arrangements, and

The connection arrangement according to the invention essentially consists of the plug to be described in more detail, the
The
In the present exemplary embodiment, the feathered spring ring 2a ends in four
At the end of the plug, a
The
After the snap buttons equipped with the fastening disks have been placed on the contact blades, the fastening disk is rotated using a turning tool. If a clockwise direction of rotation is assumed, it can be seen from FIG. 3 that all four sharp
The connector shown in the drawing has a base area of 5 x 5 mm with a pitch of the contact blades of 2.5 mm and can be plugged onto the rear wall wiring board without loss of pitch. With the connection arrangement according to the invention, coaxial connections can be realized with the rear wall wiring board without perforating it and without additional interventions in the structure of the rear wall wiring board. In this case, in the connection arrangement according to the present invention, the earth points can be contacted together by two plugs.
