Die Zündvorrichtung 1 ist in bekannter Weise Teil eines elektrisch betätigbaren Gasgenerators zur Erzeugung eines das Personenschutzelement (Airbag) aktivierenden Gaserzeugers. Der Metall/Glas-Sockel 4 besteht bei der dargestellten Ausführungsform aus einem Ringkörper oder Ring 9, der aus einem metallischen Werkstoff, vorzugsweise aus einem hochwertigen Stahl durch Kaltumformen hergestellt ist, und zwar u.a. einstückig mit einem Vorsprung 9.2, der an der dem Innenraum der Zündvorrichtung 1 abgewandten unteren Stirnseite des Ringes 9 von der Ringwandung 9.1 radial in die Ringöffnung hinein vorsteht. Im Ring 9 ist ein Fixier-oder Isolierkörper 10 aufgenommen, durch den die beiden Stifte 2 und 3 parallel zueinander und parallel zur Achse des Ringes 9 und damit auch parallel zur Achse des hülsenartigen Gehäuses 5 hermetisch dicht und elektrisch voneinander getrennt hindurchgeführt sind, sodass sich die in den Innenraum der Zündvorrichtung 1 hineinragenden und mit dem Zündelement 8 verbundenen Enden und die aus der Zündvorrichtung 1 bzw. dem Metall/Glas-Sockel 4 vorstehenden und als Anschlussstecker dienenden Enden der Stifte 2 und 3 ergeben. Der Isolierkörper 10 besteht aus einem für derartige Isolierkörper geeigneten Material und ist beispielsweise als Glaspfropfen ausgeführt, der durch eine Glas/Metall-Schmelzverbindung mit dem Ring 9 verbunden ist und in den die Stifte 2 und 3 eingeschmolzen sind.
