Gemäß Fig. 1 erstreckt sich ein aus mehreren quaderförmigen Kaminsteinen 10c senkrecht übereinander aufgebauter Schornstein zwischen zwei als Dachsparren ausgebildeten Gebäudeteilen 6, welche winklig beispielsweise gemäß Fig. 8 zur Leitung 10 einerseits und zur Horizontalen andererseits angeordnet sind. Die Gebäudeteile 6 dienen zum Abstützen der als Satteldach ausgebildeten Gebäudeabdeckung 11. Treffen starke, insbesondere seitliche Winde an dem über die Gebäudeabdeckung 11 hinausragenden Teil der Leitung 10, wie Abgasleitung, Frischluftzufuhrleitung und dergleichen, auf, dann werden Querkräfte wirksam, die mit Hilfe der Haltevorrichtung auf die Gebäudeteile 6 übertragen werden.
Zu diesem Zweck ist an den vier Eckkanten der Kaminsteine (in Fig. 1 ist nur ein Kaminstein 10c gezeigt) jeweils ein als Spannwinkel ausgebildetes Halteelement 1 angelegt. Es ist vor der endgültigen Montagestellung in Längsrichtung verschiebbar aufgrund des winkligen Profils der Halteorgane 1.
