Abstract

The device has a shell (1) supporting a padded part of a base and connected to a support, and a set of bars (6) integrated with the support and sliding in the shell in adjusting direction. A rod (2) is mounted on the shell and oriented in sliding direction, and is moved between a blocking position blocking one of the bars in a detent point (4) of a steering rack (3) and a releasing position releasing each bar. A returning unit returns the rod in the blocking position of the bars, and a control unit controls rotation of the rod.

Claims (7)

  1. Seat including a device for adjusting the horizontal position of a seating element relative to the support of said seating element surmounting the seat leg, comprising:

    - at least one pole integral with the support and able to slide in the shell (1), in the direction of the adjustment;
    - a rod (2) mounted on the shell (1), oriented in the direction of the sliding and at least one portion of which comprises a toothed rack (3), said rod (2) being mobile in rotation between a first blocking position of at least one of said poles (6) in a notch (4) of the toothed rack (3) and a second position releasing each pole (6);
    - means for returning the rod (2) to the blocked position of each pole (6); and
    - means for controlling the rotation of the rod (2).
  2. Seat including an adjustment device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the control means consist of a rod (10) oriented substantially perpendicular to the rack rod (2), a first end of which is connected to the rod (2) by a rotating link having an axis parallel to and offset from said rod, and the second end of which is coupled to a control lever able to move said end rectilinearly in order to pivot the rod (2).
  3. Seat including an adjustment device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that said first end is provided with a ball joint (16) able to pivot between two parallel lugs (11, 11'), these lugs extending radially from the rod (2) and being provided with facing casings to house the ball joint (16).

Seat including an adjustment device according to one of claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the control unit consists of a rotating pushing lever (12) having an axis parallel to that of the rack rod (2), said pushing lever (12) comprising a protrusion, the free end of said protrusion comprising two parallel wings (15, 15') provided with facing casings to house a ball joint (17) provided on the second end of the rod.
  5. Seat including an adjustment device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the return means consist of a torsion spring (8) entwined with the rack rod (2).
  6. Seat including an adjustment device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the toothed rack (3) covers an end portion of the rod (2) in order to block a single pole.

Seat including an adjustment device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the support comprises two parallel poles (6), the ends of these poles sliding in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the poles (6), in slide channels (7, 7') of the shell (1) disposed parallel to and on either side of the rod (2).
