- An articulated stirrup with a footplate (20) and with a U-shaped clamp (22) which has two lateral limbs (24, 26) and articulated regions (30) arranged therein, the articulated regions (30) comprising an upper retaining part (41), a lower retaining part (42) and a hinge part (43), e.g., a piece of a bicycle chain, arranged between the two retaining parts, and the articulated stirrup comprises a rubber insert (50) clipped into the footplate (20), wherein the carrier part (44) joins the lower retaining parts together, characterised in that the footplate (20) comprises a carrier part (44) and a plastic body (48), that the carrier part (44) is disposed inside the plastic body (48) and that the lower retaining parts (42) project into the footplate (20) by at least a few millimetres and are enclosed there by the plastic material of the plastic body (48) and embedded therein.
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the carrier part (44) is made from a material that has tensile strength and that is, in particular, selected from one of the following items: a piece of rope, a chain, a plate, a cast part and a profile, each of them being made from metal or from a plastic material, the plastic material differing from the plastic material of the plastic body (48).
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the carrier part (44) is connected to the lower retaining parts (42) positively, integrally or by means of a permanent connection, particularly including welding.
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the carrier part (44) comprises a rough surface and/or recesses into which plastic material deposits during the formation of the plastic body (48) by casting.
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the plastic body (48) is made by casting, in particular by injection moulding.
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the two lower retaining parts (42) are integrally joined together by the carrier part (44).
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the carrier part (44) by itself, without the plastic body (48), meets the static and dynamic demands placed upon the footplate (20).
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the U-shaped clamp (22) has a substantially metallic surface.
- The articulated stirrup according to claim 1, characterised in that the lower retaining parts (42) projects into the footplate (20) by at least three, preferably at least five millimetres.
