Description

The invention relates to a household laundry dryer comprising a cleaning device for a arranged within a process air cycle of household laundry dryer component specified in the preamble of claim 1. Art.

Such a cleaning device is for example from the EP 0 468 573 A1 to be known, in which a designed as a working medium evaporator heat exchanger is freed by means of a designed as a flat brush cleaning brush of lint or the like dirt, which is to move along an end face of the evaporator. This makes it possible, despite the provision of a lint filter within the process air cycle reached the evaporator and there deposited by the condensation of the moist heat process air lint or the like dirt - at least over a certain depth - to remove. The cleaning brush is moved by means of a drive rod along the end face of the evaporator, which is mounted at its opposite end to a crank of a drive mechanism.

Object of the present invention is to improve a cleaning device of the type mentioned so that a high reliability, in particular of the drive mechanism for the cleaning brush is given.

This object is achieved by a household laundry dryer comprising a cleaning device with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments with expedient and non-trivial developments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims.

In the cleaning device according to the invention, the drive rod of the cleaning brush is to be moved along a guide of the drive mechanism, which is protected by at least two flexible sealing elements against lint or the like dirt, between which the drive rod is guided and to move along the guide of the drive mechanism. In other words it is According to the invention provided to protect the drive mechanism via a seal assembly with at least two flexible sealing elements so that on the one hand the drive rod can be moved along its guide, but on the other hand, a reliable protection of the drive mechanism against lint or the like dirt is guaranteed. For this purpose, the two flexible sealing elements in the covering area with the guide for the drive levels are either overlapping or butt-end abutting each other. In any case, however, the two sealing elements are so dimensioned and arranged to each other that the drive mechanism and its guide for the drive rod are particularly well protected against contamination by lint or the like.

The overlapping arrangement of the flexible sealing elements in the area of the passage of the drive rod has proved to be particularly suitable to - reliably avoid - with a kind of labyrinth seal - the ingress of lint or the like dirt in the drive mechanism. In this case, a passage of lint or the like dirt particles between the two flexible sealing elements can be avoided in a particularly secure manner, if the width of the overlap corresponds at least approximately to the diameter of the drive rod of the cleaning brush.

In an alternative embodiment, the two flexible sealing elements in the region of the leadthrough of the drive rod can also butt against one another. This results in a particularly flat sealing arrangement of the flexible sealing elements, so that in particular in the area of the passage of the drive rod no lint or the like dirt particles can settle.

In a - corresponding to one of the two outer ends of the guide - rest position of the cleaning brush is advantageously a through hole introduced within the sealing elements, through which the drive rod is passed in the rest position. In other words, the two sealing elements are cut free in the rest position of the cleaning brush in the drive axle, so that the sealing elements lie smoothly in this position and can not deform permanently.

In a further embodiment of the invention, a control device is provided, via which the process air cycle of the household tumble dryer is to be switched off during the cleaning of the component. In other words, the component should preferably be cleaned only when the process air is switched off and accordingly no lint or the like dirt are conveyed in the cleaning phase. This ensures that as few lint or the like dirt particles can come into contact with the drive mechanism of the cleaning device.

Finally, it has proven to be advantageous to move the round brush by means of the guide in a translatory movement. In such an arrangement, the two flexible sealing elements can be particularly easily produced and arranged to each other so that no lint or the like dirt particles can pass through the seal assembly formed in the region of the drive mechanism.

Further advantages, features and details of the invention will become apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment and from the drawings; these show in:
FIG. 1
a schematic side view of a partially recognizable channel of a process air cycle of a household laundry dryer and a heat exchanger assembly arranged therein consisting of a working medium evaporator and a Arbeitsmittelverflüssiger, as seen in the flow direction of the process air before the working medium evaporator, a cleaning device is provided;

In FIG. 1 is a schematic side view of a detail of a channel 10 of a operated in a flow direction 12 process air circuit of a household laundry dryer, within which a heat exchanger assembly 14 with a working medium evaporator 16 and a Arbeitsmittelverflüssiger 18 are arranged. For this purpose, the channel 10 is shown cut open. The moist-warm process air of the household laundry drier exiting from a laundry drum, not shown, first flows through a lint filter 20, by means of which a predominant part of the lint that is entrained when the laundry drum flows through or similar dirt particles can be deposited. After flowing through the lint filter 20, the moist, warm process air reaches the working medium evaporator 16, where it is correspondingly cooled and dried by condensation. The condensate which in this case arises in the region of the working medium evaporator 16 flows via an outlet opening 22 to an outlet line 24, from where it is pumped off as process water by means of a pump (not shown). In the overlap area with the outlet opening 22, a receiving tray 26 is provided, in which can be deposited within the condensate lint or the like dirt particles. The receiving tray 26 is accordingly to be removed and cleaned from time to time. The cooled and dried over the working medium evaporator 16 process air then passes to the working fluid condenser 18, where it is heated again and conveyed back to the laundry drum by means of a blower, not shown.

Since despite the lint filter 20 a certain amount of lint or the like dirt reaches the working medium evaporator 16, where they settle with the condensate and would adversely affect the cooling capacity of the heat exchanger, in the flow direction 12 of the process air circuit before the working medium evaporator 16 is a cleaning device provided, which in particular in conjunction with FIG. 2 is more clearly recognizable. This shows FIG. 2 in a schematic and fragmentary plan view of a drive rod 28 of a drive mechanism 30 rotationally driven cleaning brush 32, which - as from FIG. 1 recognizable - is to be moved in the vertical direction at least approximately along the entire front end face 34 of the working medium evaporator 16 according to the arrow 36 between an upper and a lower end position. For this purpose, the drive mechanism comprises in each case on both sides of the channel 10 in the vertical direction extending guides 38, via which the drive rod 28 is guided with its two ends. One of the two guides 38 comprises an in FIG. 2 recognizable rack 40 in which a gear 42 of the drive mechanism 30 meshes. The gear 42 is driven by a motor 42 with countershaft, which is also arranged at the end of the drive rod 28. By the countershaft, it is possible to operate both the round brush 32 and the gear 42 via the common motor 44. In other words, the motor 42 ensures both the rotational movement of the cleaning brush 32 as well as their translational movement along the front end face 34 of the working medium evaporator 16 and along the guides 38. Thus, the front end face 34 of the working medium evaporator 16 at least approximately completely can be cleaned of lint or the like dirt, bulges 46 are introduced on top and bottom of the channel 10, in which the round brush 32 can dip.

Out FIG. 2 It can be seen that the round brush 32 with its bristles, cloths or the like can dive into the working medium evaporator 16 at a certain depth from the end face 34 forth. Preferably, the round brush 32 can dip into the working medium evaporator 16 at least as far as a working medium pipe 50, since, according to experience, very much condensate and accordingly lint or the like dirt particles settle in the area of the working medium pipes 50.

So that no lint or similar dirt particles can reach into the region of the receiving housing 52 of the receiving mechanism 30 which extends along one of the guides 38, this is provided by means of a particularly in the FIGS. 3a and 3b covered in more detail seal assembly 54 covered. To show the FIGS. 3a and 3b each in a schematic plan view of the seal assembly 54 along the line III - III in FIG. 2 , In addition, right in the FIGS. 3a and 3b each a sectional view through the seal assembly 54 and through the Drive rod 28 - along the lines of intersection in the left representations of the seal assembly 54 - shown. It can be seen that the sealing arrangement 54 essentially comprises two flexible sealing elements 56, 58, which in the present exemplary embodiment consist of two film strips of flexible plastic. The two sealing elements 56, 58 are in each case as flat strips in the region of a passage 60 (FIG. FIG. 2 ) of the drive rod 28 formed overlapping. In this case, the two sealing elements 56, 58 are preferably flat and flat. The width of the overlap of the flexible sealing elements 56, 58 corresponds to the diameter of the drive rod 28. Of course, it would also be conceivable in this context to provide other overlapping widths. How out FIG. 2 can be seen, the two sealing elements 54, 55 are fixed with their passage 60 facing away from the longitudinal ends 62 on the wall of the channel 10. It is clear that the overlap between the two sealing elements 56, 58 should extend at least approximately parallel or in register with the guides 38 of the drive rod 28 or the cleaning brush 32. In addition, it is clear that the length of the flexible sealing elements 56, 58 is dimensioned such that the cleaning brush 32 is at least approximately complete along the end face 34 of the working medium evaporator 16. Accordingly, in the present embodiment, the two seal members 56, 58 must be at least about as long as the vertically extending guides 38 at the front and rear ends of the cleaning brush 32.

In FIG. 3b It can be seen that in a rest position of the round brush 32 within the two sealing elements 56, 58 - in the region of the passage of the drive rod 28 - a through hole is provided so that the sealing elements 56, 58 in this rest position of the cleaning brush 32 smoothly abut each other and not lasting can deform. In other words, each of the central longitudinal ends 64 of the two sealing elements 56, 58 introduced an approximately semicircular recess, which complement each other in the overlap region or in the region of the passage 60 of the drive rod 28 to a circular passage opening 66 through which the drive rod 28 passed is. Since the cleaning brush 32 preferably has its rest position in an upper or lower end position within the bulges 46 (FIG. FIG. 1 ), the through hole 66 is preferably provided at the upper or lower end of the seal assembly 54. The cleaning device is here with a control device, not shown connected, via which the process air circuit of the household laundry dryer is turned off during cleaning of the working medium evaporator 16 or remains. In this way, it is to be avoided that in the cleaning phase of the working medium evaporator 16 lint or the like dirt are conveyed via the process air.

If now the cleaning brush 32 - according to the arrow 36 ( FIG. 1 ) - moved along the end face 34 of the working medium evaporator 16, so deforms the seal assembly 54 through the in FIG. 3a illustrated way. In other words, the drive rod 28 is removed from the through opening 66 (FIG. FIG. 3b ), whereby the two middle longitudinal ends 64 of the sealing elements 56, 58 - deformed - in accordance with the drive rod 28 - accordingly. In this case, the drive rod 28 along the overlap or along the guides 38 (FIG. FIG. 1 ) such that both sealing elements 56, 58, the drive rod 28 - at least largely - tightly enclose. Accordingly, if a translational movement is carried out with the cleaning brush 32 for cleaning the working medium evaporator 16, then the drive rod 28 forces the two sealing elements 56, 58 apart in the region of their respective central longitudinal end 64. Since the cleaning of the working medium evaporator 16 is completed relatively quickly, no plastic deformation of the two sealing elements 56, 58 is to be feared by the pressing apart. The middle longitudinal ends 64 bulge here - as from the sectional view in FIGS. 3a recognizable - in the region of the passageway 60 preferably upwards, so that no condensate or the like can get into the drive mechanism 30.
