Definitions
- the invention relates to splittable fibers with predetermined breaking points, their use and an apparatus for their preparation.
- the fibers have at least two incompatible polymer components.
- Splittable fibers are typically made by simultaneously spinning two or more polymer components from the capillaries of a spinneret, the different polymer components alternately flowing from capillary bores arranged in a circular ring. At the respective interfaces of two polymer components, the individual polymer components can be separated from each other after the fibers have been spun off and cooled.
- a polymer component can be removed by a solvent, so that the fiber disintegrates into fine parts, segments or individual filaments.
- a separation, singulation or splicing by mechanical processes such as needles, upsetting, in particular sanforizing, creping or calendering, alone or in any Combination, used.
- a disadvantage of splicing by means of water jets is the high energy consumption and the technical complexity of the water treatment. Because without treatment of the water contaminated water can close individual holes of the water jet nozzles, so that fibers or filaments remain unspliced in places and the yarns or nonwovens produced from staple or continuous fibers or filaments, for example, clearly visible quality defects and defects.
- the document EP 0 087 292 B1 describes hollow polyester filaments wherein the outer surface of the filament is in the form of a plurality of ridges and grooves extending in the longitudinal direction of the filament and wherein the filament has an elongation at break of less than 30%.
- a splittable multicomponent fiber described therein comprises the thermoplastic components A and B, which are alternately oriented in their cross-section.
- the fiber is characterized in that component A is continuously formed in the direction of the fiber axis while component B is randomly shaped.
- the invention is based on the object of providing spliceable fibers which on the one hand are very spin-stable, that is to say that they do not disintegrate during the entire spinning process and drawing, but on the other hand after spinning and drawing almost completely or even 100% in their segments or single filaments can be disassembled.
- the technical and energy costs should be kept particularly low.
- the desired spliceable fibers should be particularly easy to separate, regardless of the type of splicing.
- spliceable fibers configured as hollow fibers, which have predetermined breaking points, in particular notches, and comprise at least two polymer components which are incompatible with one another, wherein at least one polymer component has a smaller weight fraction than the other polymer component (s), and wherein the polymer component ( n) is arranged with the lower weight fraction of the and / or in the predetermined breaking points.
- the at least one predetermined breaking point is formed as a constriction of the fibers, which is completely or partially filled by the at least one polymer component (A) with the lower weight fraction.
- the predetermined breaking points or the notches of the spliceable fibers are wholly or partially filled by the at least one polymer component which has a smaller proportion by weight (so-called minor component). In particular, this ensures that the spliceable fibers remain held together during spinning and subsequent drawing.
- spliceable fibers are provided whose at least one polymer component having a lower weight fraction advantageously has a weight fraction equal to or less than 20 or 10 wt .-% , preferably equal to or less than 5 wt .-%, most preferably down to 3 wt .-%.
- the spliceable fibers are preferably designed as hollow fibers with predetermined breaking points or notches in the ring or frame.
- the spliceable fibers are preferably designed as flat fibers with predetermined breaking points or notches.
- Advantageous embodiments of the spliceable fibers are round and / or angular cross-sectional shapes, the predetermined breaking points or notches being round, rounded, straight, rod-shaped, angular and / or pointed, and particularly preferably in their center and / or edge and / or at their ends, Corners and / or tips are arranged.
- Preferred preferred materials for the spliceable fibers are polymer components selected from thermoplastic polymers, in particular of polyester, preferably polyethylene terephthalate (PET), of polyolefins, preferably polyethylene (PE) and / or polypropylene (PP), of polylactates and / or of polyamides ( PA).
- PET polyethylene terephthalate
- PP polypropylene
- PA polyamides
- incompatible (incompatible) polymer components are selected, preferably PET and PP, PET and PA6, PET and PA6.6, or PP and PE.
- a polymer component having a lower melting temperature is selected for the spliceable fibers as the polymer component with a lower weight fraction.
- At least one polymer component with a smaller proportion by weight is used as an adhesive or bonding component, in particular with regard to an inexpensive and cost-effective production of nonwovens from the spliceable fibers or filaments.
- this minor component for example, as a binder entanglement by needling or solidification by water jets is no longer necessary, so that the time and energy required in the further processing of the fibers or filaments can be reduced.
- the spliceable fibers according to the invention are preferably used for producing nonwovens, in particular filters, clothing, hygiene or cleaning products or tufted products, in particular carpet carriers.
- the device for producing the spliceable fibers according to the invention on special spinning capillaries have bottlenecks corresponding to the predetermined breaking points or notches of the fibers, in particular for partial or complete filling with the polymer component (s), which have a smaller proportion by weight.
- the polymer melt stream is narrowed at the points to be spliced later or passed over, so that the respective fiber receives a weak spot there.
- the appropriate positioning of the incompatible polymer component (s) with a lower weight fraction favors the disintegration or splicing of the filament.
- the capillaries have corresponding cross-sectional shapes to the predetermined cross-sectional shapes of the fibers.
- the capillaries for producing the inventive two- or multi-component fibers with predetermined breaking points or notches on which and / or in which a component with the lower weight fraction than the other component (s) is arranged, it is possible in that the respective fibers remain held together during the drawing and only then can be spliced in a predetermined manner by mechanical and / or hydrodynamic loading with a particularly low expenditure of energy and a particularly high productivity, so that high-quality products can be produced therefrom.
- Spliceable multicomponent fibers are usually made by spinning two or more capillary polymers from a spinneret. At the interfaces of two polymers, after spinning and after stretching the fibers, the individual components or segments can be separated from each other.
- FIG. 1 By way of example, a capillary 1 with webs 2 and bottlenecks 4 for producing essentially round bicomponent hollow fibers with predetermined breaking points or notches is shown, one polymer component A (black) having a lower weight fraction than the other polymer component B (gray) the bottlenecks 4 of the capillary 1 is arranged, as in FIG. 1 shown.
- FIG. 2 is the cross section of a substantially circular hollow spliceable fiber 6 of the polymer components A and B with rounded predetermined breaking points 8, in particular notches, after spinning from the capillary 1 according to FIG FIG. 1 and shown after drawing, wherein the polymer component A (black), which has a lower weight fraction (minor component), is disposed at the predetermined breaking points 8 of the fiber 6 and the predetermined breaking points 8 partially fills and thus holds the fiber 6 together until splicing.
- black which has a lower weight fraction (minor component
- FIG. 3 are individual fiber segments 10, 12 of the fiber 6 of the polymer components A and B from FIG. 2 after splicing, wherein the fiber segments 10 of the minor component A (black) have a polygonal cross-sectional shape, and wherein the fiber segments 12 of the major component B (gray) have a slit and arcuate cross-sectional shape.
- any other cross-sectional shapes of the spinning capillaries 1 corresponding to the fibers spun therefrom 6 are provided, wherein the predetermined breaking points 8 and notches in the center, at the edge, at the ends, corners and / or tips of the fibers 6 are arranged, and wherein the predetermined breaking points 8 and notches may also have arbitrarily round, rounded, straight, rod-shaped, angular and / or pointed cross-sectional shapes. This also applies to the spliced segments 10, 12 or individual filaments of the fibers 6.
- the fibers 6 Due to the special design of the fibers 6 is a particularly good controllable and energetically particularly favorable splice in predetermined individual filaments or segments 10, 12 guaranteed with a particularly high yield and quality. From these, consequently, high-quality products can be produced particularly inexpensively.

Description
- Fig. 1:
- Fig. 2:

- In
- In
