Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a clasp with a folding clasp comprising a first element and at least a second element articulated to each other each by a first end, a second end of the first element being arranged to be connected to a first strand. of the bracelet, while a second end of the second leaflet element is intended to be connected to a second strand of the bracelet, the clasp having a setting mechanism arranged to allow adjustment of the length of the bracelet in at least two positions.
  • Clasps of this type are known and used especially for watch straps. They make it possible to adapt the length of the wrist strap to the user's wrist.
  • the known clasps however, have a complicated construction and / or they do not allow to adjust very quickly, comfortably and reliably the length of the bracelet when it is worn by its user.
  • the object of the present invention is to overcome these disadvantages and to create a clasp with folding clasp, allowing a quick, comfortable and reliable adjustment of the length of the bracelet, while having a simple construction, aesthetic and safe with a number of components reduced.
  • the clasp according to the invention is characterized for this purpose by the fact that the adjustment mechanism comprises a support connected to the second element and a movable carriage slidably mounted on this support by means of at least one slide provided on the support, the carriage carrying a pawl resiliently urged against a portion of the support which is shaped to determine at least one shortened position and an extended position of the clasp and the bracelet, actuating means being provided to act on the pawl to disengage the pawl from said portion to allow movement of the carriage on the slide, the carriage being provided with a fastener for securing the second strand to the carriage.
  • said portion of this support is constituted by a cam against which an end of the pawl is biased and along which this end of the pawl slides, this cam having at least two notches with which the pawl cooperates to determine the shortened and elongated positions clasp.
  • the fastener of the second strand on the carriage is constituted by a cap pivotally mounted on the carriage by means of a hinge pin and having on its face facing the carriage a retaining pin intended to cooperate with at least one hole provided on the second strand.
  • the hood is pivotable from a first raised position to a second folded position in which the second strand is held on the carriage, the hood being provided with a pushrod constituting said actuation and arranged to cooperate with a portion of the pawl in the folded position of the cover to spread out and out the end of the pawl of the notches against the effect of a resilient retaining member.
  • the support is constituted by a plate having on its two lateral edges the lateral slides intended to cooperate with corresponding shapes provided on the lateral edges of the carriage, the cam being formed in one of the lateral rails.
  • the pawl is pivotally mounted on the carriage by means of a hinge pin substantially perpendicular to the elongated plate in a groove provided on one of the lateral edges of the carriage, an elastic strip being housed in a blind hole of the carriage and arranged so as to act on the pawl to serve as an elastic return member.
  • the wafer is integral or integral with the second element. This gives a very compact construction.
  • the wafer is mounted on the second element by means of mounting members, such as a stirrup cooperating with an elastic strip.
  • the first embodiment relates to a clasp with a folding clasp for bracelets, more particularly for watch straps.
  • This folding clasp 10 consists of a first element, or base element 11 and a second element, or folding element 12 articulated to each other by means of a hinge axis 14 connecting first ends 15, 16 of these two elements 11, 12.
  • a second end 17 of the base member 11 is connected by a pin 18 to a first strand 19 of a bracelet.
  • This pin 18 is mounted on the base member 11 by means of a fastening flange 20 welded to the second end 17.
  • a second strand 21 of the bracelet is connected to a second end 22 of the folding element 12.
  • the clasp is provided with a setting mechanism 25 arranged to allow adjustment of the length of the bracelet in at least two positions, namely a shortened position and an extended position.
  • This adjustment mechanism 25 comprises a movable carriage 26 slidably mounted on the folding element 12, more particularly on its second end 22, constituting a support in the form of an elongate plate 27 in a longitudinal direction 29 and curved.
  • This plate has near its second end 22 on its two lateral edges side rails 30, 31 intended to cooperate with corresponding forms 32, 33 provided on the lateral edges of the carriage 26.
  • corresponding forms are constituted by U-shaped edges surrounding partially the lateral slides 30, 31.
  • the movable carriage 26 carries a pawl 36 which is biased resiliently against a portion 37 of the folding member 12 or the wafer 27 which is shaped to determine at least one shortened position and an extended position of the clasp and the bracelet.
  • Actuating means 50 are provided for acting on the pawl 36 in order to disengage it from the portion 37 of the folding element to allow the carriage 26 to move on the slideways 30, 31.
  • the carriage 26 is further provided with a fixing member 40 for mounting and fixing the second strand 21 of the bracelet on the carriage 26.
  • Part 37 of the folding element 12 is formed by a cam 38 which is clearly visible at the figure 2 .
  • a free end 39 of the pawl is biased against this cam 38 and slides along it when moving the carriage.
  • This cam 38 has two notches 41, 42 in which the pawl 36 is introduced under the effect of a resilient return member consisting of an elastic bar 43 housed in a blind hole 44 of the carriage 26 and acting on the pawl for elastically biasing its end 39 against the cam 38.
  • the notches 41 and 42 of this last determine the shortened positions ( Figures 3 to 6 ) and lying down ( Figures 4 to 10 ) of the clasp.
  • the notch 42 determining the elongated position has an oblique face 48 ( figure 2 ) allowing the pawl 36 to exit the notch 42 when the carriage 26 is moved to the shortened position.
  • the carriage 26 is automatically moved to the shortened position in which it remains blocked because the notch 41 has a face 49 ( figure 2 ) non-oblique substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction 29 of movement of the carriage.
  • the pawl 36 is pivotally mounted on the carriage 26 by means of a hinge pin 45 substantially perpendicular to the elongate plate 27 in a lateral groove 46 ( figure 2 ) provided on one of the side edges of the carriage 26.
  • this pawl is very little visible which contributes to the aesthetic appearance of the clasp. It comprises a raised rear portion 47 cooperating on one side with the resilient bar 43 and on the other side with the actuating means 50.
  • a cover 51 is pivotally mounted on the carriage 26 by means of an elastic bar 52 housed in a tube 53.
  • the latter is fixed by welding or gluing on the front portion of the carriage 26. It is provided on its face directed towards the carriage a holding pin 54 for cooperating with holes provided in the second strand 21 of the bracelet.
  • the cover 51 with its pin 54 serves as a fastening member 40 of the second strand 51. It is capable of being pivoted by a first raised position, in which the second strand 21 can be introduced into the space 55 ( figure 3 ) between the cover 51 and the carriage 26, to a second folded position in which the second strand 21 is held and locked on the carriage 26.
  • a pusher 57 constituting the actuating means 50 is mounted in a bore 58 of the cover 51. It cooperates, in the folded position of the cover 51, with the portion 47 of the pawl 36 to move the end 39 of the pawl notches 41, 42 of the cam 38 against the effect of the elastic strip 43.
  • the cam 38 has two outer portions 60, 61 cooperating with the pawl 36 to delimit the maximum amplitude of the displacement of the carriage 26 on the folding element. This maximum amplitude is typically between 2mm and 20mm, preferably between 4mm and 10mm and preferably between 5 and 7mm. Even when actuating the pusher 57 to pivot the pawl, the latter abuts against the outer portions 60, 61. The movement of the carriage is precisely determined and the carriage can not be removed from the leaflet element 12 without disassembling the pawl.
  • the clasp is further provided with a retaining mechanism 65 of the folding element 12 against the base element 11.
  • This mechanism comprises a knob in the form of a nut 66 connected to an elastic washer 67 and a screw 68 mounted on the leaflet element 12.
  • This button 65 can be frictionally inserted into a bore 69 provided on the base member 11. It is understood that the button 65 could also be mounted on the base member to cooperate with a bore in the leaflet element .
  • the second embodiment illustrated at Figures 11 to 13 has a setting mechanism 25 and actuating means 50 identical to the first embodiment. Identical or similar elements are therefore indicated by identical reference numerals. The description of the first embodiment is therefore also valid for this second embodiment with regard to identical or similar elements.
  • the second embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that it has two folding elements 12a and 12b articulated on the base member 11a along two hinge axes 14a and 14b.
  • the second strand 19 is not directly attached to the base element, but connected thereto via a second leaflet element 12b.
  • the latter carries a yoke 75 hingedly mounted by means of a bar 76 in a tube 77 welded to the second leaflet element 12b.
  • the second strand 19 of the bracelet is mounted on the stirrup 75 by means of a bar 78.
  • the clasp can thus be be opened by deploying the two leaflets 12a and 12b.
  • the adjustment of the length of the bracelet is carried out as previously described by moving the carriage 26 on the folding element 12a after having actuated the pusher 57.
  • the third embodiment illustrated in Figures 14 to 16 has an adjusting mechanism 25 and actuating means 50 similar to the first embodiment. Identical or similar elements are therefore indicated by identical reference numerals.
  • the third embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that the adjustment mechanism 25 is not integrated directly on the folding element, but is fixed to the latter by means of mounting members 80.
  • the folding clasp 10c consists of a base element 11 and a leaflet element 12c hinged to each other by means of a hinge 14 connecting the first ends 15, 16.
  • the second end 17 of the base member is connected by the pin 18 and the fastening flange 20 to the first strand of the bracelet.
  • the second strand of the bracelet is connected to the second end 22 of the leaflet element 12 by means of the adjustment mechanism 25 mounted on this second end 22 by means of said mounting members 80.
  • the folding buckle may therefore consist of an unfolding buckle conventional pre-existing on which an adjustment mechanism has been added 25.
  • the latter also comprises a support in the form of an elongate plate 27c in the longitudinal direction 29 provided with lateral guides 30, 31 intended to cooperate with corresponding shapes 32, 33 provided on the lateral edges of the carriage 26 and constituted by U.
  • the mobile carriage 26 also carries a pawl 36 cooperating with the cam 38 and its two notches 41, 42 defining shortened positions ( fig.15 ) and lying down ( Fig. 16 ).
  • An elastic strip 43 housed in a blind hole of the carriage acts on the pawl to urge it against the cam 38.
  • the fixing member 40 of the second strand of the bracelet also comprises the cover 51 pivotally mounted on the carriage 26 and carrying the retaining pin 54.
  • the pusher 57 constituting the actuating means 50 is mounted on the cover 51 and cooperates in the folded position thereof with the pawl 36.
  • the clasp also includes a retaining mechanism 65 with a nut 66 cooperating with a hole 69 to retain the leaflet element 12c on the base member 11.
  • the mounting members 80 make it possible to connect the elongate plate 27c in an articulated manner to the leaflet element 12c and comprise a yoke 81 integral with the elongate plate 27a and cooperating with an elastic strip 82 housed in a tube 83 welded to the leaflet element 12c at its second end 22.
  • this construction comprising mounting members 80 for connecting the adjustment mechanism 25 to a folding buckle, it is possible to integrate a setting mechanism to conventional folding buckles without changes parts.
  • the adjustment mechanism 25 could be provided for more than two positions, for example from 3 to 5 positions by providing the cam 38 with several notches.
  • the actuating means 50 could be different, for example constituted by a slide instead of a pusher.
  • the fastener 40 for securing the second strand to the carriage could be constituted by any other member that the pivoting cover 51, for example by a clamping element, such as a holding clamp.
  • the retention mechanism 65 of the folding element could have a completely different construction, for example that of a retaining hook.
  • the mounting members 80 may be of another nature.
  • the stirrup 81 could be integral with the folding element 12a and cooperate with an elastic strip forming part of the wafer 27c.
  • the bracelet clasp is typically adapted for use in conjunction with watches, but it could also be used for any other object or instrument worn on the wrist, such as an altimeter, dive computer, GPS, jewelry bracelet, etc. .
