Claims (9)

  1. Device for removing or reducing the root base of tree trunks (3a, 3b, 3c, 16, 17) with conveying means (5, 7) for rotating the tree trunks (3a, 3b, 3c, 16, 17) into a position in which the root bases are removed or reduced by means of a cutting device (4), wherein a tree trunk (3a, 3b, 3c, 16, 17) bears on surface areas (6a, 6b) of the conveying means (7), characterised in that the conveying means (7) are mounted rotatably about an axis (10) and comprise several individual conveying arms (7a, 7b, 7c) with bearing surface areas (6a, 6b) for a tree trunk, wherein rotating the conveying means (7) further about their own axis (10) causes a transverse movement of the tree trunks (3a, 3b, 3c, 16, 17) through the device.
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the conveying means (5, 7) comprise a chain conveyor (5a, 5b, 8a, 8b, 8c).
  3. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the conveying means (7) form a V-shaped support.
  4. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the conveying means comprise at least two conveying elements (7) which are arranged spaced apart from one another in alignment.
  5. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the conveying means (7) is arranged on a frame (15), in that the tree trunks (3a, 3b, 3c, 16, 17) are transported transversely.
  6. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the conveying means (7) work together with a hold down device (5).
  7. Device according to claim 6, characterised in that the movement of the hold down device (5) and the conveying means (7) is coordinated such that a tree trunk (17) is pressed onto the conveying means (5) before reaching its end position for the process of removing or reducing the root bases.
