Description

The invention relates to a device for feeding a processing device with printed products, consisting of a conveying device, as viewed in the conveying direction, a first feed section for standing one behind the other stacked printed products forming first conveyor and a second conveyor to form a shingled, upwardly directed scale flow, wherein between the first and the second conveyor, a separation of the printed products at the front end of the stack is provided in a partial stack of printed products inclined in the conveying direction.

The device mentioned above is used in companies of print finishing for feeding investor magazines with printed products to gathering machines, saddle stitchers and insertion machines. For example, under printed products Sheets, cards, CD / DVD-ROM, flat product samples, etc. whose dimensions can vary over a wide range.
A conveyor device according to the prior art for carrying out the method is in the EP 1 714 925 A1 disclosed. The conveyor device is formed by an approximately horizontally oriented first conveyor and a second conveyor arranged in the transfer area essentially transversely to the first conveyor. The printed products to be transported to the feeder magazine are stacked by hand or by means of hoists on the first conveyor of the conveyor to a horizontal stack, wherein the printed products rest on one of its side edges on a conveyor of the first conveyor. By the first conveyor, the printed products are demand-controlled fed to the downstream second conveyor, which converts the stacked formation of the printed products of the first conveyor in a scale-like formation and transferred the printed products in this preferred formation in a magazine of a processing machine. For this purpose, the first conveyor with the second conveyor in the transfer area forms an obtuse angle and the speed of the second conveyor is substantially higher than that of the first conveyor. The printed products are advanced by the first conveyor, which extends directly to the second conveyor, positively or frictionally against the second conveyor and conveyed away by this reibschlussig. The formation of a scale from the horizontal stack belongs to the central function of such a conveyor.

The pre-published WO 03/068644 A1 relates to a device for singulating occurring in a compact stack 1, standing printed products. A first conveyor belt carries the stack of printed products, a subsequent second conveyor belt adjoins the first conveyor conveyor effectively. On both sides of the stack are the conveying path narrowing side guides.

The EP 0125214 discloses a conveyor for continuously conveying stacked printed products and has side guides. In the end region of the side guides, the conveying path narrows, so that the printed products bulge in the conveying direction and thereby separate from one another, so that they are transported onward in an imbricated formation.

The US 3,598,399 relates to a printed product feeder with which printed products stacked in bars are singulated and fed to a processor. The rod lies on a bed and is pushed against a separating device by a pressure plate engaging behind. The bed on which the bar is located is stepped, so that the printed products in a relaxed area to a lower level slip and separate.

It is the object of the present invention, the pressure resp. to significantly reduce the pressure forces between the printed products in the scum area.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the front end of the first conveyor on the first feed section in the conveying direction is replaced by a sliding support is formed and that in the region of the front end in the conveying direction of the first conveyor acting on a separate stack of the partial stack on the free-standing upper edge region of the printed products acting restraint and in the region of the sliding support acting on the underside of the sub-stack and / or the rest of the plug, against the conveying direction acting device is arranged.

The Fig. 1 and 2 show a conveying device 1 for feeding a processing device 15 with printed products 2, which are stacked standing on a first flat feed section 3 of a feed line 4 and are arranged on a subsequent second feed section 5 in a scale flow 6, of which on the first feed section 3 itself located stack 7 at the front end 8 in the conveying direction F1 a partial stack 9 is separated. The first feed section 3 comprises a first conveyor 16 and the second feed section 5 comprises a second conveyor 17. In one through the end area of the first conveyor 16 and the starting area of the second conveyor 17 formed transfer area 27 form the conveying direction F1 of the first conveyor 16 and the conveying direction F2 of the second conveyor 17 at an obtuse angle α. In the first feed section 3, the printed products 2 are arranged one behind the other on one of their side edges in the form of a horizontal stack 7, from which in the second feed section 5 a scaly, upwardly directed flow 18 is formed, the shingled stream 6 of the processing device 15, for example a Magazine of an investor who is fed. The intended for the promotion of the stack 7 in the first feed section 3 first conveyor 16 is divided into two areas. In the first area is a conveyor 26, which is for example formed by a plurality of juxtaposed, rotating and driven traction means, such as chains or belts is provided. In the subsequent second area resp. the front end 8 'in the conveying direction F1, the first conveyor 16 is formed by a sliding support 21, which has at least the length of the partial stack 9. In the region of the downstream end of the conveying means 26, a so-called breaking device formed from two parts 28, 29 is provided on both sides of the stack 7, which causes a lateral narrowing and compresses the printed products 2 on the sliding support 21, so that the partial stack 9 -as Fig. 2 shows by the curved arc shape of the printed products 2 is loosened. Due to the narrowing and upsetting the printed products 2 get a curved shape and are slightly shifted each other. A retaining device 19 acting on a free-standing edge region 20 of the residual stack 12 at the front end is arranged downstream of the breaking device and retains the residual stack 12 so that the printed products 2 are prevented from tilting in the conveying direction F1.

In addition, the retaining device 19 separates the stack 7 into a residual stack 12 with vertical printed products 2 and a partial stack 9 with printing products 2 inclined in the conveying direction F1, the upper end 10 of the partial stack 9 leading in front of the lower end 11 of the partial stack 9. It is e-benfalls conceivable to arrange the retaining device 19 side of the stack 7, wherein it is essential that it acts on the upper edge region 24 of the remainder of the stack 12, as in Fig. 5 shown. Preferably, the retaining device 19 is formed as a lever which is held by a, applied by a spring 30 force against the residual stack 12 and limits its one end position by a stop 31. The pressure products 2 released in the upper edge region 24 by the retaining device 19 can be conveyed gently to the partial stack 9 by means of blowing nozzles 22. With its underside 13, the partial stack 9 and possibly a part of the remaining stack 12 are on the sliding support 21, which generates frictional forces against the conveying direction F1 on the printed products 2 during the conveyance. The surface finish of the sliding support 21 has a significant influence on the frictional forces against the printed products 2 and may be formed, for example, as a guide with a smooth to rough surface or as a brush. It is also conceivable to divide the sliding support 21 in the conveying direction F1 into following segments with different surfaces and coefficients of friction. The partial stack 9 is moved by the advancing residual stack 12 slidably. In the transfer area 27, only the stacking pressure resulting from the misalignment of the printed products 2 in the partial stack 9 is effective. For an additional reduction of the stack pressure in the transfer region 27, at least one on the underside 13 of the sub-stack 9 or the Residual stack 12 acting, acting against the conveying direction F1 device 14, for example, provided a against the conveying direction F1 moving brush roller 23 which brakes the partial stack 9 and / or the remaining stack 12, whereby an additional improvement of the scale quality can be achieved. By means disposed in the transfer area 27 additional tuyeres 25 which are directed against the edge regions of the printed products 2, the friction between the printed products 2 is also influenced.
