Description

Description
CLOSURE ASSEMBLY FOR CONTAINER
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to a structure of a closure for a container, and more particularly, to a closure assembly for a container including an external cap and an internal cap coupled to the external cap to securely seal the container and be convenient for use. Background Art
[2] Paint, thinner, or water repellent is generally stored in a metal container. An internal cap made of plastic material is engaged to an outlet opening of the container, and an external cap made of metal is engaged to the outside of the outlet opening.
[3] FlG. 1 is a perspective exploded view illustrating a conventional closure assembly for a container stored with a thinner. The closure assembly includes an outlet opening 11 formed on an upper portion of a container 10 with contents stored therein, an internal cap 12 having a pull ring 12a fitted into the outlet opening 11, and an external cap 13 threadedly engaged to the outside of the outlet opening 11 to enclose the internal cap 12.
[4] In case of using the contents, after the external cap 13 is disengaged from the outlet opening 11, the internal cap 12 is detached from the outlet opening 11 by pulling the pull ring 12a, so that the contents can be discharged from the outlet opening 11.
[5] FlG. 2 is a perspective exploded view illustrating a closure assembly for a container stored with a water repellent. The closure assembly includes an outlet opening 21 formed on an upper portion of a container 20, an internal cap 22 having a pull ring 22a fitted into the outlet opening 21, an external cap 23 threadedly engaged to the outside of the outlet opening 21 and having a plurality of notches 23a formed on an outer periphery thereof, and a protective member 24 coupled to the outside of the external cap 23 to prevent the external cap 23 from being arbitrarily disengaged from the outlet opening and having a pull ring 24a.
[6] After the protective member 24 is disengaged from the external cap 23 by pulling the pull ring 24a, the notches 23a formed on the edge of the external cap 23 are widened by pushing the upper center of the external cap 23 down, and the external cap 23 is disengaged from the outlet opening 21. Then, the inter cap 22 is detached from the outlet opening 21 by pulling the pull ring 22a, so that the contents can be discharged from the outlet opening 21.
[7] The conventional closure assemblies have a disadvantage in that the operation of pulling the pull ring of the internal cap by a worker's hand with a glove on is in- convenient. In addition, the internal cap and the external cap are easily polluted due to the improper location where these caps are placed. Therefore, when the caps are again engaged to the outlet opening, the contents may be easily polluted, or the caps may be damaged or lost. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[8] Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a closure assembly for a container, in which an internal cap and an external cap are easily engaged to or disengaged from an outlet opening of the container.
[9] Another object of the present invention is to provide a closure assembly for a container capable of preventing an internal cap and an external cap from being lost, damaged or polluted. Technical Solution
[10] In order to accomplish the above-mentioned objects, there is provided a closure assembly for a container which comprises a container stored with contents and having an outlet opening formed on an upper portion thereof; an internal cap tightly fitted into the outlet opening; an external cap engaged to an outside of the outlet opening; and a resilient coupling member integrally formed on an upper portion of the internal cap and fixed to a bottom of the external cap.
[11] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a closure assembly for a container, which comprises a container stored with contents and having an outlet opening formed on an upper portion thereof; an internal cap tightly fitted into the outlet opening; an external cap engaged to an outside of the outlet opening and having a plurality of notches formed on an outer periphery thereof; a protective member enclosing the external cap; and a resilient coupling member integrally formed on an upper portion of the internal cap and fixed to a bottom of the external cap. Advantageous Effects
[12] With the construction, since the external cap is coupled to the internal cap by the resilient coupling member, the internal cap and the external cap are easily engaged to or disengaged from the outlet opening of the container. In addition, the external cap can be attached onto the outside of the container by means of the magnet mounted in the internal cap, so that the internal and external caps are prevented from loss, pollution or damage. Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[24] Now, a closure assembly for a container according to preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[25] FlGs. 3 to 6 illustrate a closure assembly for a container according to an embodiment of the present invention. FlG. 3 is a perspective exploded view illustrating the closure assembly for a container according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FlG. 4 is a cross-sectional view illustrating the engaged state of the closure assembly in FlG. 3.
[26] An outlet opening 31 is extended upwardly from the upper portion of a container 30 stored with contents, such as thinner, and an internal cap 40 made of plastic material is tightly fitted into the outlet opening 31. An external cap 50 made of metal is threadedly engaged to the outside of the outlet opening.
[27] The internal cap 40 includes a magnet 42 mounted in a receiving portion 41 that is formed on the upper portion of the internal cap 40, and a resilient coupling member 43 provided on the upper portion of the internal cap 40. [28] Front ends of the coupling member 43 are fixed to the center portion of the external cap 50 by means of a rivet 51.
[29] In this embodiment, when the external cap 50 is engaged to the outlet opening 31 of the container 30, with the internal cap 40 being coupled to the external cap 50 by means of the coupling member 43 and the rivet 51, as shown in FIG. 4, the internal cap 40 is fitted into the outlet opening 31 to sealingly close the outlet opening. The external cap 50 is engaged to the outside of the outlet opening 31.
[30] In case of releasing the external cap 50 and the internal cap 40 from the outlet opening 31, the external cap 50 is disengaged from the outlet opening 31 by rotating the external cap 50, as shown in FIG. 5, and the external cap 50 is moved upwardly from the outlet opening 31 by the resiliency of the coupling member 43. The internal cap 40 is detached from the outlet opening 31 by pulling the external cap 50 upwardly.
[31] The disengaged external and internal caps 50 and 40 are attached onto a desired portion of the container by means of the magnet 42, so that they are prevented from loss, pollution or damage.
[32] It is not limited to the coupling member 43 integrally formed on the upper portion of the internal cap 40. For example, as shown in FIG. 6, a pull ring 44 is integrally formed with the upper surface of the internal cap 40, and a separate coupling member 43a having resiliency is coupled to the pull ring 44. The front ends of the coupling member 43a are fixed to the external cap 50 by means of a rivet 51. Consequently, when the external cap 50 is detached from the outlet opening, the external cap 50 is spaced apart from the internal cap 40 at a desired interval by the resiliency of the pull ring 44 and the coupling member 43a, so that the external cap 50 and the internal cap 40 are easily detached from the outlet opening.
[33] FIGs. 7 to 10 illustrate a closure assembly for a container according to another embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 7 is a perspective exploded view illustrating the closure assembly for the container according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view illustrating the engaged state of the closure assembly in FIG. 7.
[34] An outlet opening 71 is extended upwardly from the upper portion of a container 70 stored with contents, such as water repellent, and an internal cap 80 made of plastic material is tightly fitted into the outlet opening 71. An external cap 50 made of metal is threadedly engaged to the outside of the outlet opening 71. A protective member 100 made of plastic material encloses the external cap 90.
[35] The internal cap 40 includes a magnet 82 mounted in a receiving portion 81 that is formed on the upper portion of the internal cap 80, and a resilient coupling member 83 integrally provided on the upper portion of the internal cap 80. Front ends of the coupling member 83 are fixed to the external cap 90 by means of a rivet 91. [36] The external cap 90 has a plurality of notches 92 formed on the outer periphery thereof at regular intervals.
[37] A pull ring 101 is integrally formed on the upper portion of the protective member
100.
[38] In this embodiment, when the external cap 90 is engaged to the outlet opening 71 of the container 70, with the internal cap 80 being coupled to the external cap 90 by means of the coupling member 83 and the rivet 91, as shown in FlG. 8, the protective member 100 is fitted to the external cap 90, and the internal cap 80 is fitted into the outlet opening 71 to sealingly close the outlet opening. The external cap 90 and the protective member 100 are engaged to the outside of the outlet opening 71.
[39] In case of releasing the external cap 90 and the internal cap 80 from the outlet opening 71, the protective member 100 is detached from the external cap 90 by pulling the pull ring 101 upwardly. The notches 92 are resiliency widened by pushing the center of the external cap 90 down, as shown in FlG. 9, and then the external cap 90 is disengaged from the outlet opening 71.
[40] In this instance, the external cap 90 is moved upwardly from the outlet opening 71 by the resiliency of the coupling member 83. The internal cap 80 is detached from the outlet opening 71 by pulling the external cap 90 upwardly.
[41] The disengaged external and internal caps 90 and 80 are attached onto a desired portion of the container by means of the magnet 82, so that they are prevented from loss, pollution or damage.
[42] It is not limited to the coupling member 83 integrally formed on the upper portion of the internal cap 80. For example, as shown in FlG. 10, a pull ring 84 is integrally formed with the upper surface of the internal cap 80, and a separate coupling member 83a having resiliency is coupled to the pull ring 84. The front ends of the coupling member 83a are fixed to the external cap 90 by means of a rivet 91. Consequently, when the external cap 90 is detached from the outlet opening, the external cap 90 is spaced apart from the internal cap 80 at a desired interval by the resiliency of the pull ring 84 and the coupling member 83a, so that the external cap 90 and the internal cap 80 are easily detached from the outlet opening.
[43] The forgoing embodiments are merely exemplary and are not to be construed as limiting the present invention. The present teachings can be readily applied to other types of apparatus. The description of the present invention is intended to be illustrative, and not to limit the scope of the claims. Many alternatives, modifications, and variations will be apparent to those skilled in the art. Industrial Applicability
[44] As apparent from the above description, since the external cap is coupled to the internal cap by the resilient coupling member, the internal cap and the external cap are easily engaged to or disengaged from the outlet opening of the container. In addition, the external cap can be attached onto the outside of the container by means of the magnet mounted in the internal cap, so that the internal and external caps are prevented from loss, pollution or damage.
