  • Said upper and lower "L" members of the welding means 6 are mutually moved by known but not shown activating means between a resting spaced apart condition, for the product passage, and a welding condition in which they almost mutually match each other and they match with the material in order to weld the edges thereof.
  • Each "L” member, lower and upper has a correspondent longitudinal element 9 placed almost corresponding to the free borders of said edges, and inside the longitudinal clamping means 8 and has a respective transversal element 10 orthogonal to the longitudinal one 9 and placed downstream of the transversal clamping means 7.
  • the nozzle 18 has a planar and profiled shape for the free sliding, along its opposite sides, of the edges borders of the material M with the minimum possible separation between them
  • the device 1 may also comprise pressing means 21 associated to the welding means 6 and fit to elastically press an edge of the material M towards the product
  • the pressing means 21 plan view is about quadrangular shaped, with two side fixed to and corresponding to the longitudinal 9 and transversal 10 elements, placed at the upper side of the edges of the material M, of the welding means.
  • the pressing means 21 comprises a cushion made of soft and elastic material, as an example foam rubber, or of a pneumatic type.
  • the second conveyor means 19 extends from the welding means 6, supporting the product P and the material M in correspondence to said welding means and conveying the outgoing packaged product P, or towards others apparatuses or through, known and not shown, heating means, associated thereto and placed downstream of the welding means 6, fit to the retraction of the thermo-retractable material M.
  • the device 1 comprises control means of the motors, activating and insufflating means 5.
  • Said control means may be programmable and may adjust the flow and/or the quantity of the insuflfated gas between edges of the material by the insufflating means 5 comprising adjusting and closing electric valves.
  • the device 1 may be provided with known and not shown sensing means placed between the edges and connected to the control means in order to supply thereto data about the modified atmosphere.
  • control means may feedback control the insufflating means 5 in order to obtain a predetermined modified atmosphere for the packaging.
  • the operating of the device starting from an initial condition in which the product is over the first conveying means 3 near to the slot 20, the material has a transversal welding made during a previous cycle and the transversal clamping means 7 and the two "L" members, upper and lower, of the welding means 6 are in the mutually spaced apart conditions, it provides that the coordinated activation of the first 3 and second 19 conveyor means and of the longitudinal pulling means 13 carries the product, contained between the two prior welded edges of the material in the portion of the second conveyor means corresponding to the operating zone of the welding means 6 and of the transversal 7 and longitudinal 8 clamping means.
  • the approaching of the two upper and lower “L" members of the welding means 6 realizes first of all the ejection of the exceeding atmosphere thanks to the pressing means 21 and then the mutual welding of the edges, thus obtaining the packaging in a modified atmosphere of said product.
  • An advantage of the present invention is to provide a fast and low gas consuming device for the packaging in a modified atmosphere.
  • Another advantage is to provide a device to obtain packages with the desired level of air substitution with a gas.
  • Another advantage is to provide a device almost without wastes of packaging material and of gas at the start up.
