Claims (17)

  1. Door for a refrigeration appliance with a door leaf (1) and a door handle (8), which comprises a base (9) designed to be fastened to a lateral flank (6) of the door leaf (1), a handle base (10) which can be swivelled in relation to the base (9) about an axis (15) which is substantially perpendicular to the lateral flank (6), and a moveable tappet (18) coupled to the swivelling motion, characterised in that the base (9) projects beyond a front face (5) of the door leaf (1) and maintains the axis (15) in front of the front face (5) of the door leaf (1), and that the base (9) comprises a leg (11) which is fastened to the flank (6) and a leg (12) which extends from the plane of the flank (6) in front of the front face (5), at the end of which the handle base (10) is mounted so as to be able to swivel about the axis (15).
  2. Door according to claim 1, characterised in that the base (9) has an angular design with a first leg (11), which is fastened to the lateral flank (6) of the door leaf (1), and a second leg (12), which extends in front of the front face (5) of the door leaf (1) and that the axis is held in the second leg (12).
  3. Door according to claim 2, characterised in that the axis is formed by a shaft (23) which is connected to the handle base (10) in a torque-proof fashion, said shaft coupling the handle base (10) to the tappet (18).
  4. Door according to claim 3, characterised in that a bracket for the shaft (23) is formed by two half shells (26, 27), one of which (26) is embodied in one piece with the base (9, 16) and the other of which (27) is located on a part (28) fastened to the base (9, 16).
  5. Door according to claim 4, characterised in that the part (28) comprising the second half shell (27) and the base (9, 16) engage in a form-fit fashion.
  6. Door according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the handle base (10) and the tappet (18) are coupled by a first and second toothing (33, 44), which mesh into one another.
  7. Door according to claim 6, characterised in that the first toothing (33) is formed on a first toothed wheel sector (22), which can be rotated about the axis when connected to the handle base (10) in a torque proof fashion.
  8. Door according to claim 7 and claim 3, characterised in that the first toothed wheel sector (22) comprises an inner plate (31) that is radial in relation to the axis (15) and an outer plate (32) that is offset axially away from the handle base (10) in relation to the inner plate (31), on the outer end of which the first toothing (33) is formed,
  9. Door according to claim 7 and claim 3, characterised in that the first toothed wheel sector (22) has a cylindrical sector or truncated cone sector-shaped section (34).
  10. Door according to claim 9, characterised in that the cylindrical sector or truncated cone sector shaped section (34) delimits a recess, in which a return spring (25) acting on the handle base (10) is accommodated.
  11. Door according to claim 9, characterised in that the return spring (25) can be assembled into two configurations which are symmetrical in respect of each other.
  12. Door according to one of claims 7 to 11, characterised in that a radial projection (50) is formed on the first toothed wheel sector (22), and that a web (53) of the base (9) engages in clearance of the first toothed wheel sector (22) formed between the projection (50) and the first toothing (33).
  13. Door according to one of claims 7 to 12, characterised in that a stop element (38) for delimiting the freedom of swivelling motion of the handle (8) can be fastened to the base (9) in two configurations which are symmetrical in respect of each other.
  14. Door according to one of claims 6 to 13, characterised in that the second toothing (44) is formed on a second toothed wheel sector (43), which bears the tappet (18).
  15. Door according to claim 14, characterised in that the tappet (18) can be fastened to the second toothed wheel sector (43) in two configurations which are symmetrical in respect of each other.
  16. Door according to claim 14 or 15, characterised in that a shaft (45) of the base (9), about which the second toothed wheel sector (43) can be rotated, is hollow and that an attachment (52) of the tappet (18) engages in the hollow shaft (45).
  17. Door according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the handle base (10) can be fastened to a carrier (24) which can be pivoted about the axis in two configurations which are symmetrical in respect of each other.
