Abstract
It is disclosed a flexible, inextensible, tubular body (1) made of a compact or woven material like, for example, paper or raffia, so that said tubular body can be modularly compacted or wound in rolls (2) during storage and transport. When the form work is assembled, cylindrical, rigid rings (3, 3') are coupled to the ends of the tubular body (1) and tightened to the ends of the tubular body (1) so that they remain definitely fixed by means of cramps or any other suitable element (4). Finally, the rings (3, 3') are conveniently separate by means of extensible poles (6) so that the complete tubular body (1) takes a cylindrical form. Thus, a structurally simple and inexpensive form work is obtained, which is easy to assemble, and in which the most expensive parts are recoverable and reusable.
Description
- The present invention relates to a form work that has been specifically designed to obtain columns or cylindrical pillars.
- The object of the invention is to achieve a structurally simple form work and consequently inexpensive, which also uses minimum space when is not in used; i.e., in storage or transport situation, which also implies low costs The invention is in the field of construction.
- Typically, semi-cylindrical, modular metal sheets are used to build cylindrical columns, which are engaged one to the other laterally and longitudinally to form a cylindrical body of a diameter and length that depend on the column to build. This approach has the main advantage of that the form work is recoverable or reusable, but on the other hand is extremely heavy and needs a lot of labor not only for assembly, but also for disassembly and cleaning. Furthermore, this modular form work is subjected to knocks that deform and negatively affect the finish of the column to obtain.
- Mono-piece, tubular, form works has been used to avoid the above mentioned problem when cylindrical columns are built. For example, form works made of multilayer paper, aluminum or plastic with suitable rigidity to provide great stability are used. Thus, an excellent superficial and general finish of the column is achieved with this type of form works. However, there are two different problems, on one hand, a bigger volume that makes difficult storage and transport this form work; and on the other hand, higher costs because the form work can be used only once since it must be broken to be removed from the column built.
- The form work for cylindrical columns proposed by the invention completely solves the above problems, so that it avoids using either of the previous approaches while it has the advantages of them.
- The proposed form work comprises a tubular, inextensible, flexible body made, for example, of vegetable, mineral or woven-synthetic materials that can be compacted like laminated paper or polymer. Besides, it can be stored and transported modularly compacted or wound to form a roll, which allows storing form works for columns of great diameter and height in a minimum volumetric space when are not in used. This takes up relatively less space than the space modular metal sheet systems take up, and fairly less space than the space rigid tube systems take up.
- The tubular body of the invention also comprises a pair of rigid cylindrical rings that are coupled to the ends of the tubular body so that the ends take a perfectly cylindrical form. Cramps or any other suitable elements are used to engage the rings.
- The invention also comprises a series of at least two extensible poles that can be engaged in their ends to the engagement or coupling elements of the above-mentioned rings. Thus, when said poles are tightened and engaged, the complete tubular body takes a cylindrical form that remains perfectly stable during the process of filling it with concrete.
- Evidently, said poles are recoverable after concrete have set, while the tubular body, the only unrecoverable element, is returned by making longitudinal cuts on it.
- To complement the present description and to help to better understand the main characteristics of the invention, a set of drawings is attached as constitutive part of said description according to a preferred embodiment thereof, wherein the accompanying drawings have illustrative and non-limitative purposes:
-
Figure 1 . It shows a quartering perspective view of a form work for cylindrical columns according to the object of the present invention. -
Figure 2 . It shows a detailed perspective view of the form work depicted in the previous figure in assembled situation. -
Figure 3 . It shows a detailed cross-sectional view from one end of the form work depicted in the previous figure. - In view of the mentioned figures, it can be seen that the form work disclosed comprises a tubular body (1) made of a flexible, inextensible, material, like any woven material that allows achieving a perfect stability not only longitudinally, but also radially. For example, raffia, paper sheets or polymers can be used. In consequence, said tubular body (1) can be compacted over itself modularly or can be wound forming a roll (2) to minimize the space used as it is shown in
Figure 1 . Obviously, the width of the strip the tubular body (1) forms must be adequate to the diameter of the column to build. Thus, tubular bodies of different sizes for different uses will be provided. Similarly, the length of the strip must be defined according to the height of the column to build, otherwise roll (2) can have a defined length and portions of different sizes can be cut from it according to the form work or column to build. - A pair of rigid, cylindrical rings (3, 3') is coupled to the ends of the tubular body (1), and particularly to a segment for a particular form work or column, as it is shown in
Figure 3 . These rings can be made of hard plastic or of any other appropriate material, and can be fixed to the tubular body (1) by means of cramps (4) or the like. - Rings (3, 3') have engagement or coupling elements (5) in their ends, which are used in the assembly position of the tubular body (1) to provide support for the ends of the extensible poles. These poles are telescopic to adapt them to any column or form work height. They also have tightening and blocking means (7) that allow tightening the tubular body (1) by means of a determine separation between the two rings (3, 3'), as it is shown in
Figure 2 in order for the complete tubular form to adopt a perfectly cylindrical form. Evidently, said extensible poles (6) are also recoverable and reusable. - Finally, the compact tubular body (1) can comprise an outer covering sheet, not shown in the drawings, depending on particular needs of each case, and specifically depending on the finish required for the column to build. It can be made of any appropriate material that allows obtaining a perfectly smooth surface or any other type of finish desired, for example imitation of wood streaks, in the column to build.
