Abstract

The invention relates to a writing implement with a shaft part (1, 2) that holds a stylus (4) and with a cap (10, 12), which can be screwed onto the shaft part in order to cover the stylus from an initial position of engagement up to a final position. A resistance against the screwing on, which is greater than the resistance when screwing on from the initial position of engagement up to an intermediate position acts upon the cap when screwing on the cap from the intermediate position, which is located between the initial position of engagement and the final position, until reaching the final position.

Description

The invention relates to a writing instrument with a writing tip holding a shaft portion and a cap for covering the writing tip from a first engagement position to an end position on the shaft part cap.

Such writing instruments are known in various forms, especially as a fountain pen. In them, the cap is screwed onto the shaft part for storing the writing instrument in order to protect the writing tip against damage and to prevent, especially in fountain pens, the drying of the writing fluid. In addition, covering the writing tip by means of the screw cap allows the insertion of the writing instrument in a jacket pocket o. Ä. without the risk of dirtying the garment.

In order for the cap to fulfill its sealing function, the user should always screw it to the end position on the shaft part. However, it happens that the user unscrews the cap only partially on the shaft part, so that on the one hand there is a risk that no sealing covering takes place, and on the other hand can not be ruled out that the cap dissolves automatically. The latter can also happen when the cap is screwed to the end position, if the friction generated by the threaded engagement is not sufficient to securely hold the cap. Too high a friction when screwing the cap on the other hand carries the risk that the user ends the screwing too soon.

The document DE 101 41 488 A1 discloses a pen having a refill tip at one end. At the mine, a stop is provided which cooperates with a locking device arranged on a holding sleeve to hold the mine in the axial direction in the retaining sleeve. Between the writing tip opposite end of the mine and the inside of the retaining sleeve, a coil spring is arranged, which biases the stop against the locking device. A cap may be screwed onto the refill to cover the writing tip, the cap being spaced apart from the retainer and locking abutment by the abutment means so as to be rotatable with respect thereto. The force exerted on the mine during screwing in the axial direction counteracts the force of the helical spring. If the lead moves against the spring force into the retaining sleeve, the cap can be rotatably engaged with the locking means to unscrew the locking means from the retaining sleeve and to remove the lead therefrom.

The document DE 328203 discloses a fountain pen with a shaft and a cap screwed onto this. In the shaft, a spring holder is arranged, on which a nib is held. The spring holder and the nib are biased by means of a likewise arranged in the shaft coil spring in such a way that the nib protrudes as far as possible from the end of the shaft. In the cap a mandrel is arranged in such a way that it comes into engagement with the spring holder in the course of screwing the cap and the spring holder and the writing spring are then displaced together against the spring force in the shaft until the nib completely with completely screwed cap is arranged in the shaft.

It is an object of the invention to improve a writing instrument in such a way that the user receives an indication of the successful approach of the cap to its unscrewed end position when screwing the cap and that the cap is reliably held in this end position.

To solve this problem, a writing instrument according to the independent claim 1 is proposed.

In the writing instrument according to the invention, therefore, the cap is screwed onto the shaft part in the first step with a relatively small Aufschraubwiderstand, which, for example, between 1/3 and 2/3, preferably at half of the total Aufschraubweges increases, so that the user receives an indication that he must unscrew the cap even further and preferably to the final position, the increased resistance to screwing also means that the cap safer in this screwed position, preferably in the end position is held and not unwanted detached from its seat.

The greater resistance to screwing is produced by a spring device acting on the cap. This has a spring acting in the axial direction of the shaft part, for example in the form of a corrugated spring washer.
In this way, the threaded portions of the shaft portion and the cap coming into engagement with each other over their entire lengths may be formed so that the friction acting between them due to the threaded engagement is substantially equal, while the increased Aufschraubwiderstand by effective only when reaching the intermediate position spring means is caused. Such a spring device is subject to a much lower wear than, for example, threaded sections, which are exposed by appropriate shaping during engagement with each other increased friction.

The spring device also has an axially displaceable against the spring force support ring, with which the cap in the intermediate position is engaged, so that it is moved in advancing the unscrewing of this against the force of the spring of a contact shoulder of the shaft portion.

The end position can be formed, for example, by abutment of a stop surface, such as the end face of the cap surrounding the cap opening, on a shoulder of the shaft part.

The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the figures schematically showing an embodiment.
FIG. 1
shows in a partial section a fountain pen with screwed cap.
FIG. 2
shows in a simplified partial view the engagement area of the shaft part and the cap of the fountain pen FIG. 1 when cut to the intermediate position screw cap in section, with ink conductor and ink cartridge are omitted.
FIG. 3
in a representation accordingly FIG. 2 the screwed into the final position cap.

The in FIG. 1 shown fountain pen has a shaft portion of a closed at the rear end in the usual manner, tubular container 1, in the front end a threaded sleeve 2 is screwed, which in turn in the usual way includes an internal thread for receiving the nib 4 supporting ink guide 3, on the rear End of an ink cartridge 5 is attached.

The threaded sleeve 2 carries on its protruding from the container 1 part of an external thread on which the cap is screwed, which has a cap member 10 to which a clip 11 is attached in the usual way. To increase the strength of the screw-on end of the cap member 10, a cap ring 12 consisting of metal is placed thereon and ends in a front end face 13.

Such a construction is common for fountain pens and other writing instruments.

As in particular in the Figures 2 and 3 can be seen, an annular space 8 is formed on the shaft part between the container 1 and threaded sleeve 2, which at the front end, so the External thread for screwing on the cap closer end, up to an annular shoulder 8 "( FIG. 3 ) and at the rear end to an annular shoulder 8 'extends, from which the container 1, the annular space 8 partially overlapped forward. In the annular space 8, a corrugated spring washer 7 is used, which is supported on the one hand on the rear annular shoulder 8 'of the annular space and on the other hand on a support ring 6, which is located in the annular space 8 and unscrewed or not screwed into the intermediate position cap The inner diameter of the support ring 6 is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the threaded sleeve 2 in the region of the annular space 8, so that the support ring on the threaded sleeve can be moved back and forth. In the front region of the support ring 6 has a radially outwardly projecting, circumferential rib area or a shoulder.

When the cap with its internal thread formed on the cap part 10 is screwed onto the external thread of the threaded sleeve 2 of the shank part, the first threading position of the two threads occurs, and the threaded engagement increases on further screwing on, with the rib region of the support ring 6 protruding radially outwards a certain time into an annular recess 14 (FIG. FIG. 3 ) of the cap ring 12 occurs. The recess 14 inside limiting annular shoulder finally comes to rest on the support ring 6, as in FIG. 2 is shown. This engagement defines the intermediate position in Aufschraubzustand the cap. Upon further screwing the spring washer 7 is then compressed as a result of engagement of the cap ring 12 and the support ring 6 and the resulting axial displacement of the support ring, whereby an acting in the axial direction of the shaft part resistance to screwing, ie the resistance to screwing takes for the User noticeable towards the resistance, which has acted when screwing from the first engagement position to the intermediate position.

The cap is screwed to its end position when the end face 13 of the cap ring 12 has come to rest on the end face 9 of the container 1 of the shaft part ( FIG. 3 ). In this position, the cap is kept loaded by the action of the spring washer 7 in the axial direction, so that the risk of accidental release of the cap is significantly reduced.
