The invention has set itself the goal of creating a piece of furniture that can be converted by simple means into a "longitudinal sleeper" with sufficient lying width. This is achieved by the fact that on both side walls of the furniture frame upwardly conically widening guides are arranged, which cooperate with conical guides on the inside of the armrests.

In an inventively designed furniture, the armrests are removed when transforming into the reclining position, rotated by 90 ° and then inserted to increase the bed surface. By turning the armrests, their entire length can be used in the width of the lying surface. Thus, a sufficiently large lying width is achieved.

The furniture shown in the drawings comprises a furniture frame 1, a seat cushion frame 2 and armrests 3. On the extendable from the furniture frame 1 and retractable in this seat cushion frame 2 is a seat cushion 4. The seat cushion frame 2 is supported by rollers 5 on the ground and has laterally arranged guide rods 6, which cooperate with guide rods 7 of the furniture frame 1. Claims (4)

1. A seating furniture, which is transformable into a bed with a furniture frame (1) as well as a seat upholstery frame (2), which is propped on the floor and supports the seat upholstery (4) and is retractable into the furniture frame (1) as well as extendable out of it. The seating furniture also has a reclining pivotable back rest (10), whereby upholstered, demountable arm rests (3) are arranged on the furniture frame (1) and the seat upholstery frame (2) is extendable to such a distance from the reclined back rest (10) that the arm rests (3) are insertable in the gap between the back rest (10) and the seat upholstery frame (2) to complete the lying surface, wherein said expandable guideways (11) are arranged upwards conically on both sidewalls of the furniture frame (1), which work together with conical guideways (12) on the inner side of the arm rests (3).
2. A seating furniture, which is transformable into a bed as set forth in claim 1, wherein said pivotable board (14) is arranged for the support of the arm rests (3) in the back rest (10).
3. A seating furniture, which is transformable into a bed according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said seat upholstery frame (2) features a space for bedclothes (17) and the seat upholstery (4) is removable using a spring mechanism.
4. A seating furniture, which is transformable into a bed according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said extendable shelf board (16) is mounted in the furniture frame (1) behind the demountable arm rests (3).
