Claims (13)
- A piece of furniture with at least one automatically movable part (1, 2, 31), wherein this part is adapted to be moved relatively to the remaining piece of furniture in a non-manual manner, comprising:a device for recognizing collisions of the automatically movable part of a furniture with obstacles,an automatic driving mechanism adapted to move the movable part,a controller adapted to control the automatic driving mechanism, anda sensor (4) adapted to detect a collision with an obstacle during the movement of the movable part and to transmit the collision to the controller,characterized in that the sensor is adapted to detect a change in bend of the movable part, the sensor (4) comprises a piezoelectric material (42) and the sensor (4) is a piezoelectric diaphragm for generating sound signals.
- Device according to the preceding claim, wherein the sensor (4) is attached to the movable part (1, 2, 31) at an attachment location at which a higher than average bending moment is applied in a case of a collision.
- Device according to the preceding claim, wherein the sensor (4) is attached to the movable part (1, 2, 31) at an attachment location, at which a higher than average deflection is applied instead of the bending moment during a case of a collision.
- Device according to the two preceding claims, wherein the piece of furniture is a table adjustable in height comprising at least one table leg (3) adjustable in height, and the attachment location is arranged at the upper end region thereof.
- Device according to one of the claims 2 to 4, wherein the piece of furniture is a table adjustable in height comprising at least one table leg (3) adjustable in height, the table leg (3) being hollow and the attachment location is arranged at an radial inner side (36) of the table leg.
- Device according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the piece of furniture is a table adjustable in height comprising at least one table leg (3) adjustable in height, at the upper end of which an additional plate (35) is provided, and the attachment location is arranged on the additional plate.
- Device according to the preceding claim, wherein the additional plate (35) exceeds the perimeter of the table leg (3) and the attachment location is arranged outside of the outer perimeter of the upper end of the table leg.
- Device according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the piece of furniture is a table adjustable in height comprising at least one table leg (3) adjustable in height and a table top (1) being directly or indirectly connected to the table leg, and the attachment location is arranged at the table top in close proximity of the upper end region of the table leg.
- Device according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the piece of furniture is a table adjustable in height comprising at least one table leg (3) adjustable in height and a table top (1), the table top is connected to a supporting frame (2) including a horizontal supporting plate (22) connected to the table leg, and the attachment location is arrange at the table top opposite to the upper end region of the table leg.
- Device according to the preceding claim, wherein the attachment location is arranged at the supporting plate (22) neighboring the upper end region of the table leg (3) or is arranged opposing to this attachment location at the other side of the supporting plate (22).
- Method for recognizing/handling collisions of automatically movable parts of pieces of furniture with obstacles, wherein a piece of furniture according to one of the device claims is provided, wherein the method further comprises the steps:1) driving the automatic driving mechanism by the controller for moving the movable part in a predefined direction,2) detecting a change in bend of an attachment location of the movable part by the sensor during a collision of the movable part with an obstacle, by the steps: changing an upsetting or a stretching of the piezoelectric material during the change in bend of the location of the movable part, and generating an electric signal by the piezoelectric material during the change in upsetting or stretching,3) transmitting a signal from the sensor to the controller,4) stopping the automatic driving mechanism by the controller.
- Method according to the preceding method claim, wherein the detection of the change in bend is carried out at an attachment location comprising a higher than average bending strain during a collision.
- Method according to one of the preceding method claims,
wherein the steps follows the step of moving back the movable part by a predetermined distance in a direction opposing the previous moving direction.
