Dieser Druck reicht jedoch nicht aus, die vorkommenden Löcher vollkommen zu schliessen, sodass der dem Buchblockrücken zugeführte Leim in die Löcher eindringen und an der Innenkante eines Falzes austreten kann. Das Erscheinungsbild an den Falzinnenkanten führt zu einer Qualitätseinbusse am Buchblock.
Es ist auch eine keilförmige Spitze einer Vorstechnadel bekannt, die zum Zweck eines quetschbaren Loches verwendet wird.
