Description

The present invention relates to a building element, in particular concrete, for producing retaining walls.

Such a construction element and retaining walls made by the superposition of several rows of such elements have been described in the French patent application. 2,845,404 on behalf of the present applicant.

In the embodiment described in this patent application, each building element is intended to cooperate in superposition with at least one similar building element.

Each element comprises a top face, a bottom face, a front face and a rear face and at least two elongated section cavities opening on the top face and the bottom face, these two cells being aligned substantially parallel to the back side.

Each building element has on its underside two projecting notches that can engage substantially without play in cells opening on the top face of a lower element.

The nesting thus created makes it possible to secure the two elements and to shift them relative to each other in the direction of their length as well as in the transverse direction.

It is thus possible to make a wall having a certain inclination relative to the vertical to marry and support a bank of land.

However, the interlocking made by two notches and two cells imposes a perfectly straight alignment of the elements of a row and does not allow to make a retaining wall having a certain curvature. No relative pivot between the elements is possible by lack of play.

The object of the present invention is to create construction elements of the aforementioned kind which make it possible to make a retaining wall that can have a certain curvature, while being sufficiently wedged relative to each other to ensure the stability of the wall.

According to the invention, the construction element intended to cooperate in superposition with at least one similar element of construction, each of the elements comprising a top face, a bottom face, a front face and a rear face and at least two cells of elongate section opening on the top face and on the bottom face, these two cells being aligned substantially parallel to the rear face, is characterized in that said construction element comprises, on its underside and in a central zone thereof, a protruding portion engageable with play in one of said recesses of elongate section.

The interlocking play of said projecting portion of one of the elements in a cell of the other element allows a relative rotation which makes it possible to place side by side two elements forming between them a certain angle and thus to make a wall of supporting with a certain curvature.

In addition, since the projecting portion is located in a central zone and the cells are located near the rear face of the element, when the two elements are superimposed, they are offset in a direction perpendicular to their axis. length.

It is thus possible, after superposition of several rows of elements, a wall which not only has a certain curvature, but also has the desired inclination.

According to a preferred version of the invention, the underside of said element comprises a first projecting rib which extends parallel to the rear face of the element along the inner edge of one of the elongated cells.

Also preferably, the underside of said element comprises a second projecting rib which extends in the extension of a portion of the rear face of the element.

Thus, when two similar elements are superimposed, the projecting portion of the bottom face of the upper element is engaged playfully in one of the elongated cells of the lower element and the first rib of the upper element s' extends along the upper edge of the rear face of the lower member, covering a portion of the length of said edge.

The rib above and forms a stop for the corresponding edge of the lower element, contributing to the wedging of the two elements in the transverse direction.

Also preferably, the clearance between said projecting portion and the longitudinal faces of said cell is such that it allows a certain rotation between these two elements, which is limited by the stop formed between said first rib and said upper edge.

Next to other possibilities:
  • a side connecting the rear face to the front face has a recessed area near the rear face
  • the other side connecting the rear face to the front face has a complementary zone near the rear face so that the withdrawal zone and the complementary zone of juxtaposed elements interlock
  • the recessed area and the complementary area are formed by right angles one side of which is parallel to the rear face for making right angle turns.

Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the description below.

The appended figures represent construction elements intended to cooperate in superposition each with at least one similar element of construction.

Each of the elements comprises a top face 1, a bottom face 2, a front face 3 and a rear face 4 and cells whose two recesses 5, 6 of elongate section opening on the top face 1 and on the underside 2. These two elongated cells 5, 6 are aligned substantially parallel to the rear face 4.

According to the invention, each construction element comprises (see Figures 2 and 3 ), on its underside 2 and in a central region thereof, a protruding portion 7, for example of rectangular section, engageable with play in one of said recesses 5, 6 of elongated section, as shown by the figure 5 .

The Figures 3 and 4 further show that the underside 2 of an element of The construction comprises a first protruding rib 8 which extends parallel to the rear face 4 of the element along the inner longitudinal edge 5a of one of the elongate cells.

The underside 2 of the element further comprises a second projecting rib 9 which extends in the extension of a portion of the rear face 4 of the element.

Each of the ribs 8, 9 extends from one end of the element to a point beyond the middle of the element.

The height of the ribs 8, 9 is equal to the height of the projecting portion 7, so that when the bottom face 2 rests on a plane ground, the ribs 8, 9 and the projecting portion 7 simultaneously bear on this ground, ensuring its stability and anchoring to the ground when it is loose.

On the figure 5 , the ribs 8, 9 and the projecting portion 7 are shown hatched to show that they are projecting.

As shown by figure 5 when two similar elements A, B are superimposed, the protruding part 7 of the bottom face 2 of the upper element A is engaged with play in one of the elongated cells of the lower element B and the first rib of the upper member A extends along the upper edge of the rear face 4 of the lower member B, covering a portion of the length of this edge.

A, B.The clearance between the projecting portion 7 and the longitudinal faces 6a, 6b of the cell 6 is such that it allows a certain rotation between the two elements A, B.

Cette rotation est limitée par la butée formée entre ladite première nervure 8 de l'élément 4 et le bord supérieur de la face arrière 4 de l'élément B.This rotation is limited by the stop formed between said first rib 8 of the element 4 and the upper edge of the rear face 4 of the element B.

A.The dotted lines L 1 and L 2 represented on the figure 5 symbolize the extreme angular positions that element B can take with respect to element A.

The Figures 3 to 5 show on the other hand that the projecting portion 7 is formed on the underside of a wall 10 separating two large cells 11, 12 distinct from the two elongated cells 5, 6.

Par ailleurs, les figures 1 et 5 montrent que la face arrière 4 de chaque élément est raccordée à la face avant 3, de chaque côté, par une face 13, 14 de section circulaire qui est convexe d'un côté et concave de l'autre, de façon à pouvoir s'emboîter avec une face complémentaire d'un élément voisin, comme indiqué sur la figure 5.Moreover, figures 1 and 5 show that the rear face 4 of each element is connected to the front face 3, on each side, by a face 13, 14 of circular section which is convex on one side and concave on the other, so as to be able to fit with a complementary face of a neighboring element, as indicated on the figure 5 .

The radius of these faces 13, 14 of circular section is such that it allows to have two adjacent elements at a certain angle to make a retaining wall having a certain curvature.

The figures 1 and 5 show a part of retaining wall in which the rows are offset relative to each other by a length which is adjustable along the length of the cell 6 in which is engaged the projecting portion 7.

However, as a rule, the offset is half a length of element.

To take account of this offset, the retaining wall may comprise, at the ends of certain rows, half-elements whose structure corresponds substantially to the cutout of a standard element as shown in FIGS. Figures 2 and 3 in a plane perpendicular to the length of an element and passing through the middle of a projecting portion 7. Such half-elements are represented on the Figures 6 to 11 .

These elements comprise only two cells 6, 12 and the projection 7a has a length equal to half that of the standard element.

The ribs 9a and 8a are also present but their length is shorter.

The half-element represented on the Figures 6, 7 and 8 is a half-left element, adapted to be placed at the end of a left row.

The half-element represented on the Figures 9, 10 and 11 is a half-line element, adapted to be placed at the end of a right-hand row.

The projection 7a and the ribs 8a and 9a of the half-elements above have the same functions as the projection 7 and the ribs 8 and 9 of the standard elements represented on the Figures 1 to 5 . These half-elements avoid having to cut in half a standard element.

The construction element that has just been described has all the advantages of that described in the patent application. FR 2,845,404 and offers in addition the possibility of making curved retaining walls.

According to an additional possibility, the element of the invention allows right-angle turns such as those illustrated in FIGS. figures 12 and 13 .

For this purpose, the elements advantageously comprise, in addition to convex and concave faces 13, 14, a recessed zone 15 and a complementary zone 16 on their sides 17, 18. These zones 15, 16 are located near the rear face 4 so that they allow the formation of angles between elements at this level.

As illustrated, the zones 15, 16 are advantageously at right angles to the rear face 4 to form, in cooperation with two juxtaposed elements, a 90 ° turn. The nature of this nesting also offers high strength and a perfect vertical lock, without void between elements.
