Description
- The practical new skid type safety lighter is a kind of lighter, especially concerning a safety lighter that can prevent the children from playing fire.
- Common steel wheel lighter is composed of shell and external nose. The external nose is installed on the shell. The external nose is equipped with the following parts, including spring, flint, lever and striking fire wheel, etc. The striking fire wheel is composed of fixed wheel and middle wheel. By stirring the fixed wheel with fingers, the middle wheel can be driven and abraded with the flint so as to achieve the purpose of firing. However, such common steel wheel lighter ignores safety, especial the safety protection for children. Content of the practical new skid type safety lighter
The purpose of the practical new skid type safety lighter is to avoid the shortcoming of existing technology and provide a simple, convenient and low-cost lighter with children-resistance safety protection device.
The purpose of the practical new skid type safety lighter is achieved by the following measures: the lighter is composed of wheel, windshield, air valve assembly, spring, flint, lever and striking fire wheel. The striking fire wheel is composed of fixed wheel, middle wheel and slide wheel. Both ends of the fixed wheel are installed on the shell with shaft. The middle wheel is installed and encased to the fixed wheel. Slide wheel is installed and encased to the fixed wheel. The slide wheel is close to the fixed wheel. The diameter of slide wheel is larger than that of the fixed wheel. There is a difference in height between the slide wheel and the fixed wheel. By stirring the fixed wheel with fingers, the middle wheel is driven and abraded with the flint. While stirring the fixed wheel, the adult can stir both the fixed wheel and slide wheel with a thumb simultaneously; while the thumb of children is relatively small, they can only stir the slide wheel and let it run idle, instead of driving the middle wheel simultaneously with the presence of the difference in height between the slide wheel and fixed wheel. The middle wheel cannot be driven or abraded with the flint, so the purpose of safety is achieved.
For the practical new skid type safety lighter, a slide wheel is installed on both sides of the fixed wheel respectively, between the middle wheel and the fixed wheel.
For the practical new skid type safety lighter, a slide wheel is installed on both sides of the fixed wheel respectively, between the middle wheel and the fixed wheel.
The practical new skid type safety lighter has simple structure, convenient installation and high safety. By utilizing the feature that the thumb of adult is larger than that of the children skillfully, it can prevent the children below seven from striking the lighter by accident effectively so as to play a safety role of preventing the children from playing fire.
Introduction to the annexed figures
Attached figure 1 is the Structural Diagram for the Practical new Skid Type Safety Lighter
Attached figure 2 is the Structural Diagram for the Practical new Skid Type Safety Lighter
Attached figure 3 is the Structural Diagram for Striking Status of the Practical new Skid Type Safety Lighter - Further description is given below for the Practical new Skid Type Safety Lighter in combination with the attached figures. As shown in attached figure 1, the practical new lighter is composed of
shell 10,windshield 1, air valve assembly (not shown),spring 8,flint 7, lever 3 andstriking fire wheel 2. Thestriking fire wheel 2 is composed offixed wheel 4,middle wheel 6 andslide wheel 5. Both ends of thefixed wheel 4 are rotatable installed on theshell 10 withshaft 9. Themiddle wheel 6 is installed on thefixed wheel 4. Theslide wheel 5 is installed and encased to thefixed wheel 4. Theslide wheel 5 is close to thefixed wheel 4. The diameter ofslide wheel 5 is larger than that of thefixed wheel 4. There is a difference in height between theslide wheel 5 and thefixed wheel 4. - As shown in attached figure 2, the practical new lighter is composed of
shell 10, windshield, air valve assembly (not shown),spring 8,flint 7, lever 3 andstriking fire wheel 2. Theslide wheel 5 is installed on one side of thefixed wheel 4 and is encased to thefixed wheel 4. The diameter ofslide wheel 5 is larger than that of thefixed wheel 4. There is a difference in height between theslide wheel 5 and thefixed wheel 4. - As shown in attached figure 3, the
striking fire wheel 2 of the practical new lighter is composed offixed wheel 4,middle wheel 6 andslide wheel 5. Theslide wheel 5 is installed on thefixed wheel 4. The diameter of theslide wheel 5 is larger than that of thefixed wheel 4. There is a difference in height between theslide wheel 5 andfixed wheel 4. By stirring thefixed wheel 4 andslide wheel 5 simultaneously with athumb 14, the adult can stir thefixed wheel 4 to drive themiddle wheel 6 and cause the abrasion between themiddle wheel 6 and theflint 7. While the thumb of children is relatively small, they can only stir theslide wheel 5 and let it run idle, instead of driving themiddle wheel 6 simultaneously with the presence of the difference in height between theslide wheel 5 and fixedwheel 4. Themiddle wheel 6 cannot be driven or abraded with theflint 7, so the purpose of safety is achieved. - However, it is a feature of the invention that the
slide wheel 5 is fixed neither on thefixed wheel 4 nor on themiddle wheel 6. This allows a rotation of theslide wheel 5 when activate by athumb 14 with lost motion. For achieving the idle function theslide wheel 5 as shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 is provided with acentre bore 11. By this centre bore 11 theslide wheel 5 is slackly attached on ashoulder 12 of theinner shaft 13 of thefixed wheel 4. Otherwise it is also possible to attach theslide wheel 5 directly on theinner shaft 13 or on theshaft 9. For attaching slackly the diameter of thecentre bore 11 is larger than the diameter of theshoulder 12 or larger than the diameter of theshaft - It is a second important feature of the invention that the outer diameter of the
slide wheel 5 is larger than the diameters of the adjacent wheels, i.e. in the example of Figs. 1 to 3 larger than the diameters of thefixed wheel 4. Thereby a thumb of a child could only engage theslide wheel 5 but not thefixed wheel 4 simultaneously and theslide wheel 5 is in idle function. - It is reasonable to arrange one or
more slide wheels 5 in the neighborhood of thefixed wheel 4, i.e. between theshell 10 and thefixed wheel 4 or between thefixed wheel 4 and themiddle wheel 6 as shown in the Figs. 1 to 3. - To increase the safety, the circumferential surface of the
slide wheel 5 is knurled and the circumferential surface of the adjacent wheels, e.g. thefixed wheel 4 is unruffled. A torsion of thefixed wheel 4 is complicated whereas the useless torsion of theslide wheel 5 is facilitated. -
