Description

  • This invention relates to a compressor comprising a valve table, which is used in household appliances, especially in cooling devices.
  • In state of the art, in household appliances, especially in hermetic compressors with pistons, which are used in cooling devices, the circulating fluid goes through the muffler and reaches the cylinder through the cylinder head. Following the compression process, the gas leaving the cylinder with increased pressure and temperature, passes again through the cylinder head reaching the exhaust outlet. The suction of the refrigerant into the cylinder and following compression, discharge of the refrigerant that comes through the cylinder head, is accomplished through the valve table. The geometries and positions of the ports on the valve table are determining parameters for losses that result during the suction and exhaust cycles. After the compression process, the high discharge speed, especially at the exhaust outlet, of the circulating fluid leaving the cylinder entering the cylinder head, will result in an increase of exhaust outlet losses. Furthermore the high temperature of the exhaust gas discharged into the cylinder results in heating of the cylinder head and this in turn results in heating of the circulating fluid that is sucked into the cylinder through the cylinder head. The entrance temperature of the circulating fluid sucked into the cylinder head directly affects the thermodynamic efficiency.
  • The part of the suction muffler that fits into the cylinder head is on the valve table. Even if the surfaces of the suction muffler that are seated on the valve table are partially machined out, there is also some amount of temperature rise of these said surfaces that are seated on the valve table which has a higher temperature in this region. This event affects the thermodynamic efficiency.
  • In the current state of the art, in the United States Patent no. US5328338 a compressor comprising a valve table having a recess wider than the suction plate that is attached on it is described.
  • Further the state of the art document FR1330486 describes a compressor in accordance with the preamble of claim 1.
  • The object of the present invention is to design a compressor utilized in household appliances, especially in cooling devices, comprising a valve table, the thermodynamic efficiency of which is enhanced by facilitating the flow of the fluids circulating on it.
  • The compressor designed to fulfill the object of the present invention is illustrated in the attached drawings, where:
    • Figure 1 - is the sectional view of a compressor.
    • Figure 2 - is the perspective view of a valve table used in prior art.
    • Figure 3 - is the perspective view of a valve table.

    • Figure 5 - is the exploded view of a body, a suction muffler, a suction valve plate, an exhaust valve plate, a cylinder head and a valve table.

    Body
  • The compressor (1) utilized in household appliances especially in cooling devices, comprises a motor (15), a body (16) upon which the components of the motor (15) are assembled, a cylinder (2) providing pumping of the fluid within, a suction muffler (4), preferably made of plastic enabling the circulation fluid, the acoustical energy of which is reduced, circulating inside to reach the cylinder (2) without heating up and preventing the noise that may be generated by the circulation fluid, a cylinder head (3) interconnecting the suction muffler (4) and the cylinder (2), leading the sucked and pumped circulating fluid, a valve table (5) enabling the sucking and pumping of the circulating fluid by forming a rigid and leakproof attachment between the cylinder (2) and the cylinder head (3), a suction valve plate (10) enabling suction of the fluid into the cylinder (2), an exhaust muffler (13) into which the circulating fluid inside the cylinder (2) is led enabling it to be transferred into the refrigerant cycle with attenuated pressure and noise, a discharge channel (12) interconnecting the valve table(5) and the exhaust muffler (13), and an exhaust valve plate (11) enabling the discharge of the circulating fluid in the cylinder (2).
  • The valve table (5) comprises an exhaust outlet (6) preferably with curvilinear form, covered by the exhaust valve plate (11), enabling the heated circulating fluid leaving the cylinder (2) to reach the exhaust muffler (13), a discharge outlet (7) preferably with curvilinear form, enabling the fluid coming out of the exhaust outlet (6) to be led to the exhaust muffler (13), a channel (8) interconnecting the exhaust outlet (6) and the discharge outlet (7) reducing the heating of the cylinder head (3) due to circulating fluid by helping the fluid leaving the cylinder (2) to quickly reach the discharge outlet (7), and a muffler recess (9) onto which the suction muffler (4) is seated.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the channel (8) comprises one or more steps (14) forming level differences on its base to reduce circulation losses, positioned according to and in forms and sizes suited for the circulation.
  • In the embodiment of the present invention, the circulating fluid going into the compressor (1) and through the suction muffler (4) is sucked by the cylinder (2) over the valve table (5) and pumped into the exhaust muffler (13) and out of the compressor (1) from the exhaust muffler (13). The circulating fluid passing to the valve table (5) from the cylinder (2) by way of the exhaust outlet (6) reaches the discharge outlet (7) by way of the channel (8) in a short time, leaves the valve table (5) through the discharge outlet (7), reaches the exhaust muffler (13) by way of the discharge channel (12). In this cycle, the circulation fluid going through the suction muffler (4), entering the cylinder (2) with high speed and pressure and leaving the cylinder head (3) quickly in order to minimize the losses, produces an effect increasing the thermodynamic efficiency.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, a discharge outlet (7) in elliptical form is utilized to reduce the circulation losses.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, a channel (8) is utilized which is inclined from the exhaust outlet (6) towards the discharge outlet (7) with an angle of inclination (β), preventing the circulating fluid from leaving the surface of the base in order to reduce pressure losses resulting from the circulation. In the preferred embodiment, an angle of inclination (β) less than 30
    Figure imgb0001
is used to in order to prevent the fluid from leaving the surface.
  • In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the valve table (5) comprises a channel (8) having different inclinations before and after the step (14).
  • With the embodiment of the present invention, the circulating fluid leaving the cylinder (2) with increased temperature due to high pressure and speed is enabled to leave the cylinder head (3) more quickly by means of the channel (8). Consequently both the pressure losses due to high speed of the circulating fluid is avoided and the increase in temperature of the cylinder head (3) due to the circulating fluid is reduced. In this case by reducing the temperature of the suction gas while going over the cylinder head (4), provides a positive effect on the thermodynamic efficiency. Furthermore the suction muffler (4) that opens to the valve table (5) and the muffler recess (9) in the attachment geometry reduces the risk of the circulating fluid being heated by the valve table and enhances the thermodynamic efficiency.
