Auch die EP-A-O 185 480 löst diese Aufgabe, wobei in ein elastisches Gestrick Fäden aus zum Beispiel Metall beschichteten Fasern eingearbeitet sind, die mit einem Grundfaden verstrickt sind. Nach einer Ausführung wird ein Gestrick vorgeschlagen, bei dem eine Seite aus einem nicht leitfähigen Faden besteht und die andere Seite aus dem leitfähigen Faden. Elektrisch leitfähige Fäden werden jedoch nicht nur zur Ableitung elektrostatischer Aufladung vorgeschlagen. Die DE-A- 199 29 077 schlägt zum Beispiel ein Silbergewebe zur Abschirmung elektrischer und hochfrequenter magnetischer Felder vor. In ähnlicher Weise äußert sich die DE-A- 196 48 544 . Die US-A-4,653,473 schlägt schließlich die Verarbeitung von Stahlfäden für Kleidungsstücke vor, um sowohl den so genannten Phantomschmerz bei Amputationen zu verringern oder auch zur Linderung von Arthritis beizutragen. Den Phantomschmerz zu bekämpfen ist ebenfalls eine Aufgabe der DE-U-202 08 592 , die einen Liner für Stümpfe vorschlägt, in den eine Matrix aus elektrisch leitfähigem Material eingearbeitet ist. Als elektrisch leitfähiges Material wird Silber als Faden oder Beschichtung des Fadens bevorzugt, da es zusätzlich antibakterielle Eigenschaften aufweist.
