Abstract

A furniture item has an adjustable seating and positioning part (11), which can be moved relative to a basic frame between an upper position and a lower position, and for which an adjustable support element (17) is provided. The support element in an active position retains the seating part in an upper position, and for adjusting the seat positioning part (11) into a lower position, is transferred into a passive position.

Description

The present invention relates to a piece of furniture, in particular a stool, with an adjustable seat / support part.

Such furniture is basically known.

The pamphlets DE 1 505 314 A1 . EP 0 873 905 A2 . US 4,979,726A . US 4,929,022 A . US 1 698 344 A . US 2 690 208 A . EP 0 161 922 A2 and US 877 825 A show different seats with adjustable and / or resilient seats. US Pat. No. 2,939,896 concerns a folding table.

The object of the invention is to provide a piece of furniture of the type mentioned, in which the adjustability of the seat / support member is realized in the most reliable and simple way for the user.

The solution of this object is achieved by the features of claim 1.

By the invention, the user does not need to worry about the support in the upper position when lifting the seat / support part. The support member according to the invention is automatically transferred by means of the relaxing control member in the active position. The force or energy required for this automatic system is inserted into the system by transferring the support member into the passive position, in which case the elastically deformable control member is tensioned.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, at least one holding device for limiting the adjustment movement of the support member is arranged on the seat / on-part.

The holding device may comprise a limit stop limiting the adjustment movement of the support member in at least one direction.

Preferably, the holding device comprises a slotted guide for the support member, in particular a crossbar of the support member.

The holding device may comprise a mounted on the underside of the seat / support member guide bracket.

Advantageously, the support member is held in the active position by the control member in a predetermined by the holding device end position.

When in the upper position seat / support member acting on the top of the seat / support member forces strive to move the support member in the sense of self-locking further in the direction of an adjustment from the passive position to the active position.

In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, two effective in the opposite sense controls are provided. This development has the particular advantage that it does not matter in which direction an example pivotable support member for pivoting the seat / support member is moved to the lower position. As a result, the handling of the furniture according to the invention for the user is even easier.

With a suitable design of the two control elements can be achieved in particular that without additional support or locking means - apart from the control organs - freely adjustable support member is kept in the active position, and that at least substantially independent of a supported on the seat / support part acting force. Consequently, the seat / support part can not accidentally get into the lower position.

According to a first embodiment, the seat / support part 11, which comprises a particular plate-shaped support and a padding, connected to the base frame 13 via two hinges which define a pivot axis 15.

To a further axis 23 which is spaced from the pivot axis 15, a bow-shaped support member 17 is pivotally mounted on the base frame 13. The support bracket 17 is coupled via two rubber bands 19, 21 with the seat / support part 11. The rubber bands 19, 21 are each formed as a loop, which are placed in a reverse sense around a crossbar of the support bracket 17 and secured to opposite sides of the underside of the seat / support member 11, so that the two rubber bands 19, 21 in opposite directions are effective.

For the aforementioned crossbar of the support bracket 17 11 slide rails 25 are provided on the underside of the seat / support part.

The seat / support part 11 is in its upper position (cf. Fig. 2 ) supported by the support bracket 17. In this active position, the support bracket 17 is held stable by the two strained elastic bands 19, 21. Even the weight of a user sitting on the here designed as a stool or leg rest furniture user is not sufficient to achieve over the seat / support member 11 folding over the support bracket 17. Accidental adjustment of the seat / support part 11 is thereby impossible.

To pivot the seat / support member 11 in the lower position, the support bracket 17 is gripped by the user on one of the two short longitudinal rods and pressed in one direction, whereby the stable support position or the "dead center" overcome and the support bracket 17 in his passive position can be folded. This can be done indirectly by the fact that the seat / support member 11 is pressed down after the explained "initiation" of the folding operation. Seat / support member 11 and support bracket 17 are thereby pivoted simultaneously, either in the same direction or in opposite pivot directions. By the two effective in opposite directions rubber bands 19, 21, it does not matter in which direction the support bracket 17 is pivoted downwards.

In its lower position, the seat / support member 11 holds the support bracket 17 in its folded passive position. Is the support bracket 17 in accordance with Fig. 1 folded forward, the rear rubber band 21 is stretched, whereas the front rubber band 19 has no effect. Reverse conditions arise when the support bracket - different from Fig. 1 - is folded in the passive position to the rear.

Claims (16)

1. Furniture, in particular a stool, having an adjustable seat part/ support part (11) which is adjustable to a base frame (13) between an upper position and a lower position and for which an adjustable support member (17) is provided, in particular a support hoop pivotable relative to the base frame (13), wherein the seat part/ support part (11) can be used as a seat part/ support part both in the upper position and also in the lower position, wherein the support member (17) holds the seat part/ support part (11) in the upper position in an active position and can be transferred into a passive position for the adjustment of the seat part/ support part (11) into the lower position, wherein the seat part/ support part (11) is supported in the upper position by the support member (17) and, for an adjustment of the seat part/ support part (11) into the lower position, an initiating movement of the seat member (17) is required, and wherein the support member (17) is coupled to the seat part/ support part (11) and/or to the base frame (13) by at least one elastically deformable control member (19, 21) which can be stressed during transfer of the support member (17) into the passive position and relaxes on the adjustment of the seat part/ support part into the upper position and thereby automatically transfers the support member (17) into the active position.

   the control member (19, 21) is a rubber band which is in particular formed as a loop.

   the control member (19, 21) is secured to the underside of the seat part/ support part (11), in particular to a support.

   at least a slide rail (25), as a sliding abutment for the control member (17), in particular a crossbar of the support member (17), is arranged at the underside of the seat part/ support part (11) in particular at a support.

   at least a toothed bar or latching bar is arranged at the underside of the seat part/ support part (11), in particular at a support and makes available a plurality of different latching positions or holding positions for the support member (17).

    the holding device (27) includes an end stop which restricts the adjustment movement of the support member (17) in at least one direction.

    the holding device (27) includes a guide track for the support member (17), in particular for a transverse bar of the support member (17).
14. Furniture in accordance with any one of the claims 11 to 13,
    characterized in that
    the holding device (27) includes a guide hoop (27) mounted to the underside of the seat part/support part (11).
15. Furniture in accordance with any one of the claims 11 to 14,
    characterized in that
    the support member (17) is held in the active position by the control member (21) in an end position preset by the holding device (27).
16. Furniture in accordance with any one of the claims 11 to 15,
    characterized in that
    when the seat part/support part (11) is located in the upper position forces acting on the upper side of the seat part/ support part (11) endeavor to move the support member (17) in the sense of a self-locking further in the direction of an adjustment from the passive position into the active position.
