  • the principle of "variable overlap” is an attempt to compensate the variation of head-space by a variation of the adhesion force between the tissues (the adhesion is linked to the overlap surface area).
  • the invention can be understood in the following manner: In order for the very first tissue of the stack to lift a portion of the interfolded second tissue of the stack, a first degree of friction/adhesion between the tissues is necessary. That friction / adhesion between the tissues is closely related to surface area of the overlapping portions (19), or to the length of the overlapping portions (19), to the length of the trailing panels (10) and/or to the length of the corner gap (20).
  • the increased head-space above the tissues requires a different balance of friction/adhesion between the tissues, as the tissues must be lifted to the dispensing orifice over an increased distance.
  • the "variable overlap" of the invention then responds to the need for a different friction/adhesion between the tissues.
  • the additional surface area of overlap provides an additional adhesion between the tissues that, in turn, allows the tissues to be more consistently lifted over the increased head-space to the dispensing orifice.

  • the wipes were interfolded and had a general Z-folding configuration as illustrated in Figures 4 and 8 .
  • the wipes dimensions are: length 110mm x 150mm width, caliper 0.5 mm.

  • Measurement method for Separation force For measuring separation forces, twenty tissues are unfolded and placed flat on top of each other such as to overlap the leading panels of the tissues; the dimension of the overlapping zone is 12 cm. When a lotion is present on the tissues the sides of the tissues comprising the lotion are overlapped. The stack of tissues is compressed with 40 kg for 15 seconds over a surface of 25 cm x 25 cm or to an equivalent pressure. A compression stand is used to apply the pressure (PSP-Lockwood Green Pressure Device, manufacturer: PSP-Lockwood Greene GmbH, Germany - used according to manufacturer instructions). Samples are stored prior to separation force measurement for 72 hours +/- 4 hours at a constant temperature (25°C) and constant relative humidity, (50% relative humidity).
  • the reported separation force is the maximum (peak) force observed during the vertical separation of two consecutive wipes in the stack (One pair of wipes is removed from the stack and fixed in the tensile tester for measurement).
  • the separation force is measured with a tensile tester (ZWICK Roell Tensile Tester, type BTC-FR2, Zwick GmbH & Co. KG, Ulm, Germany).
  • the tester is used according to manufacturer instructions.
  • the operation parameters are as follows: start distance clamps: 270mm, clamps with flat rubber surface, width 60mm, pre-force: 0.05N, pull-speed: 300 mm/min, load-cell: 10-20N with resolution of 0.01N.

Claims (14)

  1. Emballage de papiers mousseline (1) comprenant plusieurs papiers mousseline arrangés dans une pile (13) et une enveloppe externe (2) comprenant un orifice de distribution (4) et enfermant ladite pile ;
    lesdits papiers mousseline étant pliés de façon à comprendre un panneau avant (6), un panneau arrière (10), un panneau central (8) facultatif, un pli avant (7) et un pli arrière (9) facultatif, dans lequel ledit pli avant (7) sépare ledit panneau avant (6) dudit panneau central (8) ou panneau arrière (10) et ledit pli arrière (9) facultatif sépare ledit panneau arrière (10) dudit panneau central (8) facultatif,
    ladite pile ayant un néme papier mousseline et un n+1éme papier mousseline, ledit n+1ème papier mousseline étant positionné à côté dudit nème papier mousseline dans ladite pile et davantage à l'écart dans la pile (13) dudit orifice de distribution (4), dans lequel n est un nombre entier ayant n'importe quelle valeur entre 1 et le nombre de papiers mousseline dans ladite pile,
    lesdits papiers mousseline sont pliés ensemble de façon à avoir une partie dudit panneau arrière (10) ou central (8) dudit nème papier mousseline qui est (i) située sous une partie dudit n+1ème papier mousseline dans ladite pile, et (ii) en contact avec ladite partie dudit n+1ème papier mousseline sur une partie en chevauchement dudit nème papier mousseline
    dans lequel
    la superficie de ladite partie en chevauchement (19) d'au moins un nème papier mousseline est différente de la superficie de ladite partie en chevauchement d'au moins un autre papier mousseline de ladite pile (13),
    et dans lequel ladite pile (13) comprend des groupes de papiers mousseline consécutifs dans ladite pile, dans lequel tous les papiers mousseline dans chaque groupe ont une superficie essentiellement égale desdites parties en chevauchement (19), caractérisé en ce que la superficie desdites parties en chevauchement dans un groupe est différente des autres groupes, et dans lequel ladite pile (13) comprend au moins 3 desdits groupes de papiers mousseline, lesdits groupes étant positionnés dans ladite pile (13) en ordre croissant de superficie desdites parties en chevauchement (19), le groupe avec la plus grande superficie étant situé dans ladite pile (13) davantage à l'écart dudit orifice de distribution (4).
  2. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la superficie de ladite partie en chevauchement d'au moins un n+1ème papier mousseline est supérieure à la superficie de ladite partie en chevauchement dudit nème papier mousseline.
  3. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que la superficie desdites parties en chevauchement desdits papiers mousseline en moyenne augmente avec la distance desdits papiers mousseline par rapport audit orifice de distribution (4).
  4. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que la superficie de ladite partie en chevauchement de n'importe lequel dudit n+1ème papier mousseline est supérieure à la superficie respective desdites parties en chevauchement de n'importe lequel desdits némes papiers mousseline.
  5. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ladite partie en chevauchement (19) a une largeur et une longueur, ladite largeur correspondant essentiellement à la largeur desdits papiers mousseline de ladite pile, caractérisé en ce que ladite largeur est essentiellement constante.
  6. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la superficie desdites parties en chevauchement (19) varie dans ladite pile (13) d'une manière linéaire.
  7. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la superficie desdites parties en chevauchement (19) varie le long de ladite pile d'une manière parabolique, logarithmique ou exponentielle.
  8. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ledit panneau arrière (10) a une largeur et une longueur, ladite largeur correspondant essentiellement à la largeur desdits papiers mousseline de ladite pile (13) et ladite longueur desdits panneaux arrière (10) varie le long de ladite pile (13).
  9. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon la revendication 8, dans lequel ladite longueur desdits panneaux arrière (10) est la plus petite en direction de l'orifice de distribution (4).
  10. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ledit papier mousseline est une lingette, de préférence une lingette humide.
  11. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel ledit papier mousseline est un papier absorbant, de préférence une serviette en papier ou un mouchoir en papier.
  12. Emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel lesdits papiers mousseline ont une largeur et ledit orifice de distribution (4) a une longueur, ladite longueur étant orientée parallèle à ladite largeur desdits papiers mousseline et ladite longueur dudit orifice de distribution est comprise entre environ 10 % et environ 80 % de ladite largeur desdits papiers mousseline.
  13. Procédé de fabrication de l'emballage de papiers mousseline selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel des stations de pliage individuelles indépendantes sont utilisées pour plier chaque papier mousseline de ladite pile, qui sont réglées individuellement pour libérer la superficie souhaitée de ladite partie en chevauchement de chacun desdits papiers mousseline.
  14. Procédé selon la revendication 13, dans lequel le réglage desdites stations de pliage agit sur la longueur desdits panneaux desdits papiers mousseline.
