Abstract

A replaceable lower tool (6) is located on the table (1) near the mounting for the bending matrix. This tool (6) comprises two parallel lower rollers (8) which rotate about axes lying at right angles to the direction of sheet metal workpiece movement. Above them, on the upper face (3) at the bending plunger mounting, a replaceable upper tool (7) is fastened. This comprises an upper roller (9) which can be rotated about an axis parallel to those of the lower rollers. A displacement sensor associated with the lower or upper tool, is connected to the machine controller. The upper and lower tools (6, 7) each comprise a series of roller modules connected in a row. The rollers are joined by interference fits, interlocking claws or serrated-teeth couplings. The stop unit is in the form of a height-adjustable stop table. It is constructed to feed the workpiece, and incorporates a workpiece gripper.
