Abstract

L'invention concerne un élément de modulation de lumière électro-optique, des systèmes d'affichage et des affichages électro-optiques, notamment des écrans de télévision et des moniteurs informatiques, comportant des éléments de ce type. Les éléments de modulation de lumière de l'invention comprennent un support de modulation mésogène qui est en phase nématique cybotactique durant le fonctionnement des éléments de modulation de lumière et qui se distingue notamment par des temps de réponse très courts ainsi qu'un bon contraste et une faible dépendance de l'angle de visionnement. Le support de modulation mésogène utilisé dans les éléments de modulation de lumière électro-optique sont dans la même veine que l'objet de la présente invention.
