Abstract

The invention relates to a supporting structure in the form of a hollow profiled element of a driver's cab of a utility vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine. The aim of the invention is to save space and materials. To this end, the supporting structure is embodied in such a way as to take on the function of another functional part. One such supporting structure is characterised in that at least one section of the inner region of the hollow profiled element is used to guide intake air between an intake location facing the atmosphere and the intake region of the internal combustion engine, wherefore the hollow profiled element comprises corresponding supply and discharge openings (3, 2).

Description

Tragelement eines Fahrerhauses Support element of a cab
The invention relates to a support element in the form of hollow profiles of a cab of a commercial vehicle with an internal combustion engine.
Hohle Tragelemente von Kraf fahrzeugen sind bekannt.Hollow support elements of motor vehicles are known.
AS 1 0 49 719 shows hollow longitudinal and cross members of vehicles, the interior of which is used as a gas storage volume for gas springs. In DE-U-1 665 246, a support element comprises a tube which is simultaneously used as a container for fuel, compressed air, etc. In DΞ-U 1 727 916, a vehicle side member of a passenger car comprises a pipe that is used to guide heating air. From DE 25 37 691 AI a motor vehicle with a central tube as a supporting frame component is known, the interior of this central tube being subdivided by gas-tight intermediate floors into a plurality of pressure reservoirs one behind the other. EP 0 360 428 B1 shows longitudinal members as supporting elements of motor vehicles, the interior of which is used to accommodate various vehicle unit parts. In DE-OS 2 248 219 hollow supports serving as longitudinal sills are used in the floor assembly of a motor vehicle body. Containers are arranged in these carriers as storage containers for suction air, these containers extending almost over the entire length of the hollow carriers. DE 690 00 435 T2 shows a mobile plant sprayer mounted on a chassis, in which the Chassis covered hollow beams leading intake air to a compressor.
The invention is concerned with the problem of using the cavities of the generic support elements as a functional space and thereby, by moving functional elements previously present outside of such support elements into these support elements, on the one hand to achieve a reduction in installation space or to avoid the need for an increase in installation space and on the other hand to avoid material by Saving integration in the support elements.
This problem is solved in generic support elements by a configuration according to the characterizing feature of patent claim 1.
Vorteilhafte und zweckmäßige Ausgestaltungen sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche .Advantageous and expedient refinements are the subject of the dependent claims.
The measure according to the invention makes it possible, at least in some areas, to replace the air guide ducts which are required per se by the hollow support elements. Especially with, for example, side members as supporting elements of a driver's cab, the side members as hollow profiles can form a relatively long guide path for intake air drawn in at the rear of the driver's cab.
An embodiment described in more detail below is shown in the drawing.
In dieser zeigt die einzigeIn this shows the only one
Fig. 1 is a perspective view from below of the shell structure of a cab floor with two longitudinal members designed as a hollow profile. A longitudinal beam 1 is formed as an intake air duct from two longitudinal beams. The exit from the longitudinal profile 1 into a connecting element leading to the internal combustion engine (not shown) takes place via an outlet opening 2. The entry into the longitudinal member 1 can take place through an intake opening 3 if the intake air is drawn in from the front. If the intake air is drawn in from the rear end of the cab, entry can take place at the rear open end of the side member 1. A connecting element can of course be connected here in order to be able to suck in the intake air from the atmosphere, for example in an area located at the upper end of the driver's cab.
Insofar as a recess 4 is provided in the side member 1 for the passage of fastening means through the side member 1, a seal is made here so that the interior of the side member 1 carrying the intake air is sealed to the outside.
In the case of a hollow profile in the form of a tube, a side member 1 as the supporting element can be easily deformed, as a result of which such side member 1 can have an upward bend on the bow side. In particular, in such an upward-pointing bend, the intake air opening 3 can be provided according to the invention.
With the embodiment according to the invention, intake air ducts are advantageously integrated into at least some areas of at least one of the support elements designed as a hollow profile, saving space and material.
