Abstract

The container (10) for paints and similar has an upwardly facing aperture (12), on the edge of which is an all-round flange (14) for accommodation of a closure lid. The flange in at least one area is interrupted by a tool (20), with the formation of two flange ends. On the container on a first hinge (24) is connected a tab (22) as arranged that an applied lid, by pivoting the tab, is partially raisable outwards in the area of the tool, which facilitates the opening of the lid. The tab is enclosed by a securing lever (23), which is pivotable in relation to the tab and the two flange ends. The securing lever, at its two side edges facing the flange ends, is fixed by two hinges (43,44) to the wall (13) of the container (10). The second hinges are displaced downwards in relation to the first hinge in the direction of the base of the container.

Description

The invention relates to a container with an upwardly facing opening, at the edge of a circumferential flange is provided, which is preferably formed for receiving a lid for closing the container by latching, wherein the flange is interrupted in at least one area by a tool, the a hinged to the container at a first hinge tab which is arranged such that an attached lid is partially raised by a pivoting of the tab outwardly in the region of the tool to facilitate opening of the lid.

Such a container is from the EP 0 565 967 B2 known.

The known container is made of a resilient plastic material and has a circumferential flange which is interrupted in a region of a tool to form two Flanschenden. The tool is designed as a tab, which is connected at an upper end via a film hinge with the wall of the container. An initial pivoting of the tab to pry open the lid is made recognizable by demolition bars which are arranged between the side edges of the tab and the opposite flange ends.

Such containers are in use for decades and are u. a. used to hold inks, such as emulsion paints, but also to hold any other materials.

In this case, it is desirable to design the tool and the display device in such a way that a first-time opening can be reliably recognized before the lid edge is already partially lifted with the aid of the tool without this being visually recognizable with the display device. Also, the prying open of the lid should be possible in the simplest possible and energy-saving manner.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide an improved container in which the disadvantages of the prior art are avoided as possible. In particular, the lid should be able to be opened with the help of the provided in the region of the flange on the container wall tool in the simplest possible and power-saving manner. This is also a first-time operation of the tab to be made as simple as possible to see.

The object of the invention is achieved in a container according to the aforementioned type by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

In the way of the first alternative, the object of the invention is completely solved. The locking element can be activated manually to ensure a securing of the tab against pivoting to the outside. This is particularly advantageous if the lid of the container is to be opened, for example, initially for the purpose of producing a specific color mixture, and then closed again and then secured against further opening. This is useful, for example, for such purposes, where certain color mixtures are about to be made in a shop, a hardware store or the like, and then a backup of the container to prevent unauthorized opening.

Here, the latching element may be slidably fixed to the tab in the direction of the wall of the container, wherein the latching element is associated with a fixed to the wall of the container latching hook.

In this way, a manufacture of the locking connection can be achieved particularly easily by pressing the locking element until it is locked to the latching hook.

According to a further alternative of the invention, the object is further achieved in a container according to the aforementioned type, in which the flange is interrupted in at least one area of the tool to form two flange walls, that acts on the outside of the tab a fuse element which is secured through an aperture of the tab to the wall of the container to secure the tab against pivoting outwardly.

Also in this way the object of the invention is completely solved. Again, a first-time opening of the tab is made clearly recognizable because the fuse element immediately breaks off when the tab is first opened.

In a preferred embodiment of this embodiment, the securing element has a holding section which extends through a slot-shaped opening of the tab through to the outside and on which a preferably detachable by twisting element for securing the tab against pivoting attacks to the outside.

Here, the securing element may have a rotary wing, which allows in a aligned with the slot-shaped opening angle pivoting of the tab to the outside and the tab in the other angular positions against pivoting secures to the outside.

This results in a further simplified production and good visual recognition of a first actuation of the tab.

It is understood that the features of the invention mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the particular combination indicated, but also in other combinations or in isolation, without departing from the scope of the invention.

In Fig. 1 a container not belonging to the invention without the associated lid is shown in perspective and designated overall by the numeral 10. The container 10 and also the associated lid 30 according to Fig. 2 consist of plastic, z. B. of polyethylene. The container 10 has a bottom 15 which is connected to a peripheral wall 13, which encloses an opening 12 at the upper end and terminates in an upper edge 18. This is followed on the outside by a circumferential flange 14 which is designed to receive the associated lid 30.

The in Fig. 1 illustrated container 10 is formed, for example, for receiving emulsion paint and has an elliptical shape. At the two longitudinal edges of the flange 14, a hole 16 are provided opposite each other, in which a handle can be hooked in each case with one end.

The lid 30 is enclosed by a peripheral lid edge 32 which encloses a lid surface 34. The lid edge 32 is formed with the edge 18 of the container 10 latched. On the upper side of the lid surface 34, a projection 36 is provided, which protrudes parallel to the lid edge 32 as a circumferential rib on the top of the lid surface 34 upwards and towards the lid edge has a certain distance to the lid center out. The projection 36 is interrupted in the circumferential direction at several points, as shown Fig. 2 can be seen. When clamping the container 10 in a Rüttelmischer the projection 36 which protrudes slightly opposite the lid edge 32 upwards, for supporting a vibrating plate of the mixer.

The container 10 is according to FIG. 1 further with a tool 20 for prying open a set on the edge 18 of the container 10 and thus latched lid 30. The tool 20 interrupts the flange 14 to form two flange ends 68, 70 and has a tab 22 which is hinged in the vicinity of the upper edge 18 at a first hinge 24 on the flange 14. The tool 20 further includes a U-shaped locking lever 23 which encloses the tab 22 and which is separated from the side edges and the lower edge of the tab 22 by a U-shaped recess 29. Opposite the two flange ends 68, 70, the securing lever 23 is separated at the edge by a respective slot-shaped recess 64, 66.

A further modification of a tool according to the invention for lifting the lid of the container is in the FIGS. 3 to 5 represented and designated overall by the numeral 20b.

In this case, only one tab 22b is provided, which serves to pry the lid edge, without the need for a safety lever is necessary. The peripheral flange 14 of the container is interrupted by the tab 22b, which is separated at both of its flange ends 68, 70 facing sides by slot-shaped recesses 64, 66 from the flange 14. The tab 22b is fixed at its upper end in turn via a film hinge 24 in the vicinity of the upper edge 18 of the container.

To secure the tab 22b against unauthorized opening a latching element 80 in the form of a hollow cylinder in the direction of the wall 13 of the container is slidably fixed to the tab 22b. This locking element 80 cooperates with a latching hook 82 which protrudes from the wall 13 to the outside.

In this case, the arrangement is such that a latching of the latching element 80 with the latching hook 82 takes place only when the latching element 80 is pressed in the direction of the wall of the container 13 out, so that the latching hook 82 engages with completely depressed latching element 80 hereby engaged ,

Thus, the tab 22 b can be pivoted outwardly to lift the lid of the container, if the locking element 80 has not yet been locked with the latching hook 82. Such a design can be used to advantage when the container is to be filled, for example, with a paint in which a mixing operation is to be made possible and after the mixture has been secured to secure the tool 20b against reopening. This is, for example, in stores, hardware stores or the like of interest, in which a specific color is mixed on customer request and then the lid should be secured against unauthorized opening.

A further modification of a container according to the invention is in the FIGS. 6 and 7 shown, wherein the tool for opening the container is generally designated by the numeral 20c.

This embodiment is similar to the one previously described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5 explained embodiment with a tab 22c provided, which is fixed at its upper end via a film hinge 24 in the vicinity of the upper edge 18 on the container. The tab 22c is separated from the two ends 68, 70 of the flange by a slot-shaped recess 64, 66, respectively. To fix the tab 22c and to prevent unauthorized opening, a securing element 90 is provided, which is fastened to a support rib 62 received on the wall 13 and protrudes outwardly with a holding section 94 through a slot-shaped opening 96. On the holding portion 94, a rotary wing 92 is placed from the outside, by means of which the tab 22c is secured against unauthorized pivoting to the outside. The rotary vane 92 can be separated by rotation from the holding portion 94, so that the tab 22c can then be pivoted outwardly to lift an attached lid.

Optionally, the rotary wing 92 and the holding portion 94 be designed so that a single rotation of the rotary wing 92 is made possible in an aligned with the slot-shaped opening 96 position without the rotary wing 92 is separated. In this case could likewise as with the before on the basis of the FIGS. 3 to 5 described embodiment carried out a subsequent backup, z. B. after a mixing operation, while a subsequent opening of the tab 22 c only after a separation of the rotary wing 92 is possible.

Claims (6)

1. Container with an upward pointing opening (12), at the edge of which a circumferential flange (14) is provided, which flange is formed to receive a lid (30) for closing the container, wherein the flange (14) is interrupted in at least one region by a tool (20, 20c) which comprises a flap (22b, 22c) which is articulated to the container and is disposed such that a positioned lid (30) can be partially raised by pivoting the flap (22b, 22c) outwards in the region of the tool (20, 20c) in order to facilitate opening of the lid (30), characterised in
   that a detent or securing element is provided at or acts on the flap (22b, 22c) such

   (1) that a detent element (80) is provided at the flap (22b), which element can be interlocked with a mating element (82) at the wall (13) of the container in order to secure the flap (22b) against pivoting outwards, or

   (2) that a securing element (90) acts on the outside of the flap (22c), which element is fastened through an opening (96) of the flap (22c) to the wall (13) of the container in order to secure the flap (22c) against pivoting outwards, and that the flange (14) is interrupted in at least one region by the tool (20c) while forming two flange ends (68, 70).
2. Container according to Claim 1, in which the detent element (80) is fixed to the flap (22b) so that it can be displaced in the direction of the wall (13) of the container, wherein a detent hook (82), which is fastened to the wall (13) of the container, is associated with the detent element (80).

Container according to Claim 1, in which the securing element (90) comprises a retaining portion (94) which extends outwards through a slot-shaped opening (96) of the flap (22c) and on which an element (92), which can preferably be separated through rotation, acts in order to secure the flap (22c) against pivoting outwards.
4. Container according to Claim 3, in which the securing element (90) comprises a rotating vane (92) which, in an angular position aligned with the slot-shaped opening (96), allows the flap (22c) to pivot outwards and, in the other angular positions, secures the flap (22c) against pivoting outwards.
5. Container according to any one of the preceding Claims, in which the flap (22, 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) and/or the securing lever (23, 23a) are/is substantially adapted to the contour of the flange (14) or are/is substantially formed in the contour of the flange (14).
6. Container according to any one of the preceding Claims, in which the container is formed to receive the lid (30) for closing the container through interlocking.
