Abstract
Um ein Strukturelement, welches korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heissgasströmungen standhält, zu schaffen, welches einerseits korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heissgasströmungen standhält und andererseits vorteilhaft herstellbar ist, wird vorgeschlagen, dass das Strukturelement einen faserkeramischen Grundkörper umfasst, dass der Grundkörper aus einem C/C-Formkörper gebildet ist, welcher in einem an eine Oberseite des Grundkörpers angrenzenden Volumenbereich eine mit Si zu C/C-SiC umgesetzte faserkeramische Struktur aufweist und dass mindestens auf einem Teilbereich der Oberseite des Grundkörpers eine durch Plasmaspritzen erzeugte keramische Hartstoffschicht aufgetragen ist.
Description
Strukturelement und Verfahren zur Herstellung desselben
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Strukturelement, welches korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen standhält.
Als derartige Strukturelemente werden bekannterweise Bauteile aus efraktärmetallen und -legierungen, wie Wolfram, Molybdän, Rhenium, oder monolithische Keramiken, wie SiC eingesetzt.
Bei den Refraktärmetallen ergeben sich Probleme mit der Temperaturstandfestigkeit, so daß eine aktive Kühlung der Strukturelemente im Einsatz erforderlich ist, und außerdem erfolgt ein nennenswerter Abtrag von Material aufgrund der einwirkenden korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen.
Für mobile Anwendungen haben derartige Refraktärmetalle außerdem Nachteile aufgrund hohen Gewichtes infolge hoher Dichte.
Die ebenfalls für derartige Strukturelemente eingesetzte monolithische Keramik hat den Nachteil, daß deren dynamische und Thermoschock- beständigkeit gering ist und daß außerdem die Möglichkeiten der Formgebung für die Strukturelemente erheblich eingeschränkt sind.
Der Erfindung liegt daher die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Strukturelement der eingangs beschriebenen Art zu schaffen, welches einerseits korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen standhält und andererseits vorteilhaft herstellbar ist.
Diese Aufgabe wird bei einem Strukturelement der eingangs beschriebenen Art erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß das Strukturelement einen faserkeramischen Grundkörper umfaßt, daß der Grundkörper aus einem C/C- Formkörper gebildet ist, welcher in einem an eine Oberseite des Grundkörpers angrenzenden Volumenbereich eine mit Si zu C/C-SiC umgesetzte faserkeramische Struktur aufweist und daß mindestens auf einem Teilbereich der Oberseite des Grundkörpers eine durch Plasmaspritzen erzeugte keramische Hartstoffschicht aufgetragen ist.
Der Vorteil der erfindungsgemäßen Lösung ist darin zu sehen, daß durch Verwendung eines einen C/C-Formkörper umfassenden Grundkörper mit einem eine C/C-SiC-Struktur aufweisenden Volumenbereich von der ein sehr kostengünstiger und einfach formbarer Grundkörper zur Verfügung steht und daß sich dieser Grundkörper ebenfalls kostengünstig mit der keramischen Hartstoffschicht versehen läßt, welche korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen standhält und gleichzeitig vorteilhafte dynamische und thermo- schockbeständige Eigenschaften aufweist.
Um eine Abtrennung der Hartstoffschicht vom Grundkörper zu vermeiden ist vorteilhafterweise vorgesehen, daß, die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht weniger als ungefähr 1mm beträgt.
Noch besser ist es, wenn die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht weniger als ungefähr 0,5mm beträgt.
Um aber außerdem eine günstige Schutzwirkung zu erreichen ist vorzugsweise vorgesehen, daß die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht mindestens ungefähr 0,01mm, noch besser ungefähr 0,05mm beträgt.
Die keramische Hartstoffschicht wurde ihrerseits bislang nicht näher spezifiziert.
Als besonders günstig hat es sich erwiesen, wenn die keramische Hartstoffschicht eine Härte aufweist, die größer als die von Korund ist.
Bevorzugte Materialien für Hartstoffschichten sind beispielsweise Oxide und/oder Nitride und/oder Boride.
Alternativ oder ergänzend hierzu ist vorgesehen, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht Carbide umfaßt.
Bevorzugte Carbide sind beispielsweise Borcarbide.
Andere Carbide sind vorzugsweise Carbide der Übergangsmetalle, insbesondere der Übergangsmetalle der vierten und/oder fünften und/oder sechsten Nebengruppe.
Darüber hinaus betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Strukturelements, welches korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen standhält.
Erfindungsgemäß umfaßt ein derartiges Verfahren zur Herstellung eines korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen standhaltenden Struk- • turelements das Herstellen eines C/C-Formkörpers aus Kohlenstofffasern und einer Kohlenstoff enthaltenden Matrix durch Pyrolyse, das Ausbilden eines Grundkörpers des Strukturelements durch Versehen des C/C-Formkörpers mit
einem an eine Oberseite des Grundkörpers angrenzenden Volumenbereich mit einer durch Einbringen von Si in diesem Volumenbereich zu C/C-SiC umgesetzten faserkeramischen Struktur und das Versehen mindestens eines Teilbereichs der Oberseite mit einer keramischen Hartstoffschicht durch Plasmaspritzen.
Vorzugsweise wird dabei noch die keramische Hartstoffschicht mit einer Dicke von weniger als ungefähr 1mm, aufgetragen.
Dabei beträgt die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht mindestens ungefähr 0,01mm.
Das Auftragen der keramischen Hartstoffschicht durch Plasmaspritzen erfolgt vorzugsweise durch ein Vakuumplasmaspritzen, um eine gute Verbindung zwischen der keramischen Hartstoffschicht und der Oberseite des Grundkörpers für das Bauteil zu erhalten.
Ferner wird die keramische Hartstoffschicht vorzugsweise durch Plasmaspritzen von Materialien hergestellt, die eine Hartstoff Schicht ergeben, deren Härte größer ist als Korund.
Besonders vorteilhaft ist es, wenn die keramische Hartstoffschicht durch Plasmaspritzen von Materialien hergestellt wird, die eine Hartstoffschicht auf der Basis von Oxiden und/oder Nitriden und/oder Boriden ergeben.
Eine andere vorteilhafte Methode zur Herstellung der keramischen Hartstoffschicht ist das Plasmaspritzen von Materialien, die eine Hartstoffschicht auf der Basis von Carbiden ergeben.
Bevorzugte derartige Carbide sind Borcarbide.
Andere Carbide sind Carbide der Übergangsmetalle, insbesondere der Übergangsmetalle der vierten und/oder fünften und/oder sechsten Nebengruppe.
Weitere Merkmale und Vorteile der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der nachfolgenden Beschreibung sowie der zeichnerischen Darstellung einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung.
In der Zeichnung zeigen:
Fig. 1 ein Ausführungsbeispiel eines Flugobjekts mit erfindungsgemäßen Strukturelementen und
Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt durch einen Ausschnitt aus einer Wand des erfindungsgemäßen Strukturelements.
Ein in Fig. 1 dargestelltes, als Ganzes mit 10 bezeichnetes Ausführungsbeispiel eines Triebwerks für ein Flugobjekt umfaßt einen in einem Gehäuse 12 angeordneten Treibsatz 14 aus Feststoff der beispielsweise noch mit einem zentralen Kanal 16 versehen ist.
An ein üblicherweise rückwärtiges Ende 18 des Gehäuses 12 schließt sich ein Heckkonus 20 an, in welchem eine Düse 22 angeordnet ist, welche von einer Heißgasströmung 24 durchsetzt ist, die sich beim Abbrennen des Treibsatzes 14 ausbildet und im Bereich des Endes 18 aus dem Gehäuse 12 austritt.
Die Heißgasströmung 24 tritt dabei in ein treibsatzseitiges Ende 26 der Düse 22 ein und aus einem Austrittsende 28 der Düse in die Umgebung aus, wobei die Düse 22 zwischen dem treibsatzseitigen Ende 26 und dem Austrittsende 28 eine Verengung 30 aufweist.
Nahe des Austrittsendes 28 der Düse 22 sind in dieser Strahlruder 32 vorgesehen, welche dazu dienen, die Heißgasströmung 24 unmittelbar vor ihrem Austritt durch das Austrittsende 28 der Düse 22 zu beeinflussen, um damit das Flugobjekt zu lenken.
Beispielsweise umfaßt der Heckkonus 20 noch zusätzlich äußere, flugstabilisierende Luftleitflächen 34, auch als Fin bezeichnet.
Da die Heißgasströmung 24 bei dem aus Feststoff bestehenden Treibsatz 14 nicht nur heiße Gase sondern aufgrund des Abbrennens des Feststoffes auch korrosive und/oder abrasive Partikel aufweist, sind sowohl eine die Heißgasströmung 24 führende Innenwand 36 als auch eine Außenwand 38 der Strahlruder 32 mit einer Oberfläche 40 bzw. 42 zu versehen, welche den von der Heißgasströmung 24 mitgeführten korrosiv und/oder abrasiv wirkenden Partikeln standhält.
Ein erfindungsgemäßer Aufbau einer derartigen Innenwand 36 oder einer derartigen Außenwand 38 ist in Fig. 2 exemplarisch am Beispiel eines Ausschnitts aus der der Außenwand 38 eines Strahlruders 32 dargestellt.
Die Außenwand 38 ist dabei gebildet aus einem Grundkörper 50, der als faserkeramischer C/C-Formkörper aufgebaut ist.
Die Herstellung eines derartigen C/C-Formkörpers erfolgt durch Vermischen von Kohlenstofffasern mit einem kohlenstoffhaltigen Matrixmaterial und Pyrolysieren des Matrixmaterials zu Kohlenstoff.
Ferner ist der Formkörper 52 in einem sich an eine Oberseite 54 desselben anschließenden Volumenbereich 56 durch Infiltration von Silicium durch eine C/C-SiC aufweisenden faserkeramischen Struktur umgesetzt, wobei die Bildung von SiC in dem Volumenbereich 56 der Außenwand 38 eine größere Härte und Steifigkeit verleiht.
Der Volumenbereich 56 mit der C/C-SiC umfassenden faserkeramischen Struktur umfaßt somit einen Mehrkomponenten-Verbundwerkstoff und kann dabei einen Teilbereich der Außenwand 38 darstellen. Der Volumenbereich 56 kann sich aber auch durch die gesamte Außenwand 38 hindurch erstrecken und somit der Außenwand 38 insgesamt eine höhere mechanische Festigkeit verleihen.
Vorzugsweise beträgt im Volumenbereich 56 der Anteil von SiC bis zu 50%, wobei der Rest Kohlenstoff ist.
Da die Oberseite 54 des Grundkörpers 50 noch keine ausreichende Standfestigkeit gegenüber korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen aufweist, ist die Oberseite 54 des Grundkörpers 50 mit einer keramischen Hart- stoffschicht 60 versehen, die durch Plasmaspritzen, vorzugsweise Vakuumplasmaspritzen auf den Grundkörper 50 aufgetragen ist.
Die keramische Hartstoffschicht 60 bildet eine Schutzschicht für die Außenwand 38, die in der Lage ist, der korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmung 24 standzuhalten.
Die keramische Hartstoffschicht 60 hat vorzugsweise eine Härte, die größer ist als die von Korund (AI2O3). Erfindungsgemäß geeignete keramische Hartstoffschichten, die härter als Korund sind, sind insbesondere Oxide, Nitride und Boride.
Erfindungsgemäß geeignete Werkstoffe für die Ausbildung der keramischen Hartstoffschicht 60 sind außerdem Borcarbide, zum Beispiel B4C und/oder Ubergangsmetallcarbide, vorzugsweise Ubergangsmetallcarbide der Elemente der vierten und/oder fünften und/oder sechsten Nebengruppe, wie beispielsweise Titan, Vanadium, Chrom, Zirkonium, Niob, Molybdän, Hafnium, Tantal und/oder Wolfram.
Vorzugsweise beträgt die Schichtdicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht weniger als ungefähr 1mm. Günstige Werte für die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht sind weniger als 0,5mm, beispielsweise zwischen 0,1 und 0,3mm. Bei Hartstoffschichten derartiger Dicke kann ein Abplatzen der keramischen Hartstoffschicht bei thermischen Wechselbelastungen vermieden werden.
Ein erfindungsgemäßes Strahlruder 32 läßt sich vorzugsweise dadurch herstellen, daß ein der Form des Strahlruders 32 weitgehend entsprechender Vorkörper aus einer Formmasse umfassend Kohlenstofffasern und ein kohlenstoffhaltiges Matrixmaterial geformt und durch Aushärten des Matrixmaterials
als in sich steifer und stabiler Vorkörper hergestellt wird, wie dies beispielsweise in der Veröffentlichung "Bremsscheiben aus keramischem Verbundwerkstoffen für Schienenfahrzeuge", H. Pfeiffer et al., DGM Werkstoffwoche '96, 28-31-5, 1996, Stuttgart am Beispiel von Bremsscheiben beschrieben ist.
Ein derartiger Vorkörper wird nachfolgend durch Pyrolyse des Matrixmaterials in den C/C-Formkörper 52 umgewandelt, der entweder durch Bearbeiten, beispielsweise mechanisches Bearbeiten, vor oder nach der Pyrolyse in die endgültige Form des Strahlruders 32 gebracht wird oder des durch geeignete Formung des Vorkörpers vor dem Aushärten nach der Pyrolyse bereits die endgültige Form des Strahlruders 32 aufweist.
Nachfolgend erfolgt ein Infiltrieren mit Silicium zur Bildung des C/C-SiC umfassenden Volumenbereichs 56, beispielsweise durch das in der voranstehenden Veröffentlichung beschriebene LSI-Verfahren, wobei sich der Volumenbereich 56 entweder nur als Teilbereich der Außenwand 38 des Strahlkörpers darstellt oder diese gänzlich durchsetzt.
Auf die Oberseite 54 des Grundkörpers 50 erfolgt nachfolgend ein Auftragen der keramischen Hartstoffschicht 60 durch Plasmaspritzen, insbesondere Vakuumplasmaspritzen mit den vorstehend genannten Materialien oder mit Mischungen derselben, so daß unmittelbar nach dem Plasmaspritzen das Strahlruder 32 mit der endgültigen Formgebung vorliegt.
Claims
1. Strukturelement, welches korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen standhält, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t, daß das Strukturelement (32) einen faserkeramischen Grundkörper (50) umfaßt, daß der Grundkörper (50) aus einem C/C-Formkörper (52) gebildet ist, welcher in einem an eine Oberseite (54) des Grundkörpers (50) angrenzenden Volumenbereich (56) eine mit Si zu C/C-SiC umgesetzte faserkeramische Struktur aufweist und daß mindestens auf einem Teilbereich der Oberseite (54) des Grundkörpers (50) eine durch Plasmaspritzen erzeugte keramische Hartstoffschicht (60) aufgetragen ist.
2. Strukturelement nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht (60) weniger als ungefähr 1mm beträgt.
3. Strukturelement nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht (60) weniger als ungefähr 0,5mm beträgt.
4. Strukturelement nach einem der voranstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht (60) mindestens 0,01mm beträgt.
5. Strukturelement nach einem der voranstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht (60) eine Härte aufweist, die größer als die von Korund ist.
6. Strukturelement nach einem der voranstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht (60) Oxide und/oder Nitride und/oder Boride umfaßt.
7. Strukturelement nach einem der voranstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht Carbide umfaßt.
8. Strukturelement nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoff Schicht Borcarbide umfaßt.
9. Strukturelement nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht Carbide der Übergangsmetalle umfaßt.
10. Strukturelement nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht (60) Carbide von Metallen der vierten und/oder fünften und/oder sechsten Nebengruppe umfaßt.
11. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines korrosiven und/oder abrasiven Heißgasströmungen standhaltenden Strukturelements, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein C/C-Formkörper aus Kohlenstofffasern und einer Kohlenstoff enthaltenen Matrix durch Pyrolyse hergestellt wird, daß ein Grundkörper des Strukturelements durch Versehen C/C-Formkörpers mit einem an eine Oberseite des Grundkörpers angrenzenden Volumenbereich mit einer durch Einbringen von Si in diesen Volumenbereich zu C/C-SiC umgesetzten faserkeramischen Struktur ausgebildet wird und daß mindestens ein Teilbereich der Oberseite mit einer keramischen Hartstoffschicht durch Plasmaspritzen hergestellt wird.
12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht mit einer Dicke von weniger als 1mm aufgetragen wird.
13. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht mit einer Dicke von weniger als 0,5mm aufgetragen wird.
14. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 11 bis 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dicke der keramischen Hartstoffschicht mindestens ungefähr 0,01mm beträgt.
15. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 11 bis 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Plasmaspritzen als Vakuumplasmaspritzen durchgeführt wird.
16. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 11 bis 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht durch Plasmaspritzen von Materialien hergestellt wird, die eine Hartstoffschicht ergeben, deren Härte größer ist als Korund.
17. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 11 bis 16, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht durch Plasmaspritzen von Materialien hergestellt wird, die eine Hartstoffschicht auf der Basis von Oxiden und/oder Nitriden und/oder Boriden bilden.
18. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 11 bis 17, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die keramische Hartstoffschicht durch Plasmaspritzen von Materialien hergestellt wird, die eine Hartstoffschicht auf der Basis von Carbiden bilden.
19. Verfahren nach Anspruch 18, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die zum Plasmaspritzen verwendeten Materialien in der Hartstoffschicht Borcarbide bilden.
20. Verfahren nach Anspruch 19, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die sich beim Plasmaspritzen bildenden Carbide Carbide der Übergangsmetalle, insbesondere der Übergangsmetalle der vierten und/oder fünften und/oder sechsten Nebengruppe sind.
