    - an applicator (20) having:

    - an application element (23) at a first end (22) of the wand;
    - a handgrip portion (26) connected to a second end (25) of the wand;
    the applicator being designed to be snap-fastened on the container so that the application element is housed in the container;
    - a wiping member (30) fastened in the container close to the opening (17), the wiping member being open at its lower end (33) to allow at least part of the application element to pass through when the applicator is fastened on the container;
    the device being characterized in that the wand (21) bears in a sealing manner, approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the wand, against an inner surface of the wiping member (30) so as to seal the container when the applicator is fastened on the container and in that a seal is created at the first end of the wand, the outer surface of the wand bearing radially in a sealing manner against the inner surface of the wiping member when the applicator is fastened on the container.
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the wand has at least one bead (40) bearing in a sealing manner against the inner surface of the wiping member (30) when the applicator (20) is fastened on the container.
  3. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the wiping member has a bead on its inner surface, against which the wand is able to bear in a sealing manner.
  4. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the wiping member (30) has a transverse cross section which decreases progressively towards its lower end (33).
  5. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the wand (21) is flat.
  6. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that only part of the length of the applicator (20) extends beyond the wiping member (30) inside the container.
  7. Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that less than half the length of the applicator (20) extends beyond the wiping member (30) inside the container.
  8. Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the applicator (20) is a brush.
  9. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the lower end of the applicator (20) is located close to the bottom of the container (10) when the applicator (20) is fastened on the container.
  10. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the applicator (20) has two attachment lugs (28) provided with a hook (29) able to be snap-fastened on the container.
  11. Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the two attachment lugs (28) are parallel to one another.
  12. Device according to either of Claims 10 and 11, characterized in that the attachment lugs (28) are able to tilt about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the wand as they are brought towards the wand (21).
  13. Device according to any one of Claims 10 to 12, characterized in that the two attachment lugs (28) are situated on either side of the wand.
  14. Device according to any one of Claims 10 to 13, characterized in that the handgrip portion (26) has two bearing surfaces (27).
  15. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the container (10) has an attached base (12).
  16. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the container (10) has a skirt (16) defining an opening (17) in the container, the skirt extending inside the container.
  17. Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the wiping member (30) is fastened around the skirt (16).
  18. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the container (10) contains a cosmetic product, especially an eye shadow, a face powder, a blusher or a foundation.
