Abstract

The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine (1) having a gas re-circulation structure for re-circulation of blow-by gas leaking into a crankcase (5) of the engine to an intake passage of the engine, wherein the gas re-circulation structure comprises at least one fitting member (12,12') having a double wall structure constituted by fitting a metallic inner pipe (12A) into an outer cylinder (12B) formed integrally with a plastic-made surge tank (7) such that an outer wall of the inner pipe is circumferentially spaced from an inner wall of the outer cylinder for heat insulation of the blow-by gas being re-circulated to the intake passage.
