Description

DESCRIPTION "An apparatus and a method for manufacturing a product comprising at least a portion of metallic wire and a product thereof" [001] . The object of the present invention is an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a product comprising at least a portion of metallic wire as well as a product thereof.
[002] . The product looks like a soft and elastic band usable as bracelet, choker, ankle band and the like, or like a fabric, usable as portion of a jersey, of a sock and the like.
[003]. At present, in the field of jeweller's art, the linkage technique is widely used for the manufacture of bracelets, necklaces and the like. [004] . Each link consists of a metallic wire which, in order to exhibit resistance and workability features, must have a minimum diameter below which the link is too weak or machining is virtually impossible. [005] . There is therefore the need of providing an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a product comprising at least a portion of metallic wire adapted for the use of a very thin metallic wire. [006] . The object of the present invention is to meet the above need by solving the disadvantages mentioned above with reference to the prior art. [007] . Such object is achieved by an apparatus and a method according to the following claims.
[008] . Further features and advantages of the apparatus and method will appear more clearly from the following description of a preferred embodiment, made by way of a non-limiting example with reference to the annexed figures, wherein:
[009] . - figure 1 shows a diagram of a working apparatus according to the present invention;
[0010] . - figure 2 shows a diagram of a working apparatus according to a further alternative embodiment;
[0011] . - figure 3 shows a diagram of a working apparatus according to a further alternative embodiment; and [0012] . - figures 4a and 4b show an example of embodiment of a product obtainable with the apparatus according to the invention, respectively as it appears in the normal use ("straight") and turned ("reverse") .
[0013] . With reference to the annexed figures, reference numeral 1 globally indicates an apparatus for manufacturing a soft and elastic product, such as a band to apply to the wrist as a bracelet, to the neck as choker, or to the ankle as ankle band, or as a portion of a jersey, a sock and the like. [0014] . Such apparatus comprises a feeding unit 2, adapted for feeding a working unit 4.
[0015] . The feeding unit 2 preferably comprises a plurality of coils, for example a first coil 6 and a second coil 8. [0016] . A primary wire Wf, generally a metallic wire, for example a gold, copper and similar wires, is wound on the first coil 6. A secondary wire Ws, for example a nylon wire or a wire made of another synthetic or artificial fibre, is wound on the second coil 8. [0017] . The working unit 4 preferably comprises a connecting device 10.
[0018] . Such connecting device 10 is adapted for connecting the primary wire Wf and the secondary wire Ws to one another. Preferably, moreover, such connecting device 10 is adapted for coupling, for example by twisting, said primary wire and said secondary wire together, thus obtaining a wire to work W. [0019] . The working unit 4 comprises a working device 12 adapted for obtaining an intermediate product Pi b y working the primary wire Wf and the secondary wire Ws, separately fed or coupled together by working wire W. [0020] . According to a preferred embodiment, said working device 12 comprises a rectilinear loom. According to a further embodiment, said device comprises a circular loom. [0021] . In a further embodiment, the working device 12 is associated to motor means for actuating said device. Said motor means are operatively connected to means for adjusting the speed of said motor means, adapted for increasing, decreasing and/or stabilising said speed. [0022] . Moreover, said working apparatus 1 comprises a removal device 14, adapted for removing the secondary wire Ws from the intermediate product Pi for obtaining a final product Pf. [0023] . For example, said removal device 14 comprises a hot water bath or a bath of a solvent adapted for dissolving said secondary wire Ws.
[0024] . In a further alternative embodiment, said removal device 14 comprises a plurality of nozzles for dispensing steam. [0025] . In the operation of the working apparatus 1, the primary wire Wf and the secondary wire Ws are respectively fed by coils 6, 8 to the working device 12, for example separately, if said working device 12 comprises a circular loom. [0026] . In an alternative operation, said primary wire and said secondary wire are first fed to the connecting device 10, from which a wire to be worked W is then fed to the working device 12, for example if said working device 12 comprises a rectilinear loom. [0027] . Said working device 12 is adapted for separately working the primary wire Wf and the secondary wire Ws or the wire to work W for obtaining a portion of the product having weaves or links.
[0028] . Preferably, as the working begins, the speed such working is carried out at is less than a running speed, which is reached only after and progressively, by using said means for adjusting the speed of the motor means.
[0029] . During the manufacture, the secondary wire Ws is adapted for protecting the primary wire from rubbing against the working apparatus components, in particular against the components of the working device 12.
[0030] . In particular, even though said secondary wire does not form a real integral covering of the primary wire, sliding between said wires and interposition - even though only partial - of the secondary wire between the primary wire and the components of the working device, decrease the friction between said primary wire and said components .
[0031] . The intermediate product manufactured by the working device 12 is fed to the removal device 14, wherein the secondary wire Ws is removed from said product for obtaining the final product. [0032] . In particular, for example, said removal is carried out by the passage of the product in a bath of hot water adapted for dissolving the secondary wire Ws, or in a bath of a solvent adapted for dissolving said secondary wire or by quick drying at high temperature and the like.
[0033] . Following the operations undergone in the removal device 14, the final product Pf is without the secondary wire Ws. For example, the final product appears like a band consisting of links or chains of valuable metallic wire, such as gold, silver, copper, platinum and the like or like the portion of a fabric.
[0034] . In an alternative embodiment of the working apparatus 1, said feeding unit 2 comprises a third coil 20, whereon a wire to weave Wt is wound.
[0035] . In the relevant alternative embodiment, wire W manufactured by the connecting device 10 comprises the primary wire Wf, the secondary wire Ws and the wire to weave Wt .
[0036] . Said wire is worked in the working device 12 for obtaining the intermediate product Pi. Said intermediate product is then worked in the removal device 14, which delivers the final product Pf consisting of a weaving of the primary wire Wf and of the wire to weave Wt which together form said links and/or chains.
[0037] . In a further alternative manufacturing, said wire to weave is separately fed to the working device 14, for manufacturing a portion of the intermediate product entirely made of a wire to weave Wt. [0038] . For example, the intermediate product comprises a first portion made of a primary wire Wf and of secondary wire Wt and a second portion, connected to the first portion by weaving, made of wire to weave Wt. [0039] . The intermediate product Pi is worked in the removal device 14, which delivers the final product comprising the primary wire Wf, which forms the first portion of said product, and the wire to weave Wt, which forms the second portion of the product. [0040] . It is clear that a man skilled in the art will be capable of making several changes to the method and to the device described above.
[0041] . For example, in a further alternative embodiment of the working apparatus, the feeding unit comprises a plurality of coils for winding and feeding the primary wire, a plurality of coils for winding and feeding the secondary wire and/or a plurality of coils for winding and feeding the wire to weave. [0042] . Also such alternative embodiments are to be deemed as comprised in the scope of protection as defined by the following claims.
