Definitions
- the present invention relates to an apparatus for alternately providing heating and cooling of a volume, such as a room or a living room, working or storage or any other closed place.
- the invention relates to a heating device formed by a closed hearth associated with an air conditioning unit ensuring by the relief of the closed hearth for the heating function and by the modulation and dosage of the input of the air-conditioning unit in both heated and cooled air, an exceptional consistency of the indoor temperature to the desired set-point to ensure superior comfort through optimal climate conditions.
- the invention also relates to an apparatus that can be constructed or installed around a closed hearth heating unit, for example of the chimney type or tiled stove or other stove. This unit will be called here after installation because it is mounted on site.
- a closed hearth heating unit for example of the chimney type or tiled stove or other stove. This unit will be called here after installation because it is mounted on site.
- the air conditioning of living quarters or other outside periods of heating requires a transfer of heat between the volume to be air-conditioned and outside or another area.
- Known installations comprise an inner assembly, consisting of an evaporator / exchanger, a compressor, and an expander or capillary, and an outer assembly consisting of a condenser / exchanger.
- the heat transfer is achieved by successive changes of state of a refrigerant fluid, the evaporation of which is accompanied by a heat absorption and the condensation of a release of heat.
- the evaporator / exchanger allows the fluid to vaporize by absorbing the heat of the environment, which is returned to the outside by the condenser / exchanger when the fluid condenses.
- the compressor ensures the circulation of the fluid while increasing its pressure and its temperature, while the regulator lowers its pressure to allow its evaporation at low temperature.
- a heat exchanger makes it possible to transfer to the water circulating in the water circulation circuit the frigories that are generated by the cold generator, and thus provide air conditioning.
- This functional duality which is based on the use of the water circulation circuit of the existing central heating plant for chilled water, is not, however, fully satisfactory since it involves a significant change in the water supply.
- heating system to which must be associated a number of new elements to ensure the air conditioning function.
- this solution can be implemented only in the case where the heating function is performed through a central heating installation, and is not transposable to traditional type of heating, such as a fireplace or stove.
- JP 200249367 discloses an air conditioning apparatus having a refrigeration circuit coupled to a gas burner, to allow in case of need to heat the cooled air diffused by the refrigeration circuit.
- the inventions mentioned above have only the sole purpose of regulating the temperature of the air diffused through an air conditioning installation, and not to ensure a heating function independently of the air conditioning function or benefiting heat of the condenser as a contribution of calories.
- the present invention aims to overcome the disadvantages mentioned above by providing an apparatus and an installation combining the functions of heating and air conditioning.
- the installation and, above all, the appliance do not require any major structural modifications of rooms or premises or work that is difficult to adapt.
- the invention exploits the evacuation and distribution of hot air by the rise ducts and distribution of hot air of a heating unit.
- a connection is created, a coupling or a combination between these ducts of hot air and an air conditioning unit to thereby achieve a distribution of air temperature adapted refreshed if necessary in all targeted volumes.
- the present invention proceeds from the general inventive concept which consists in placing, preferably downstream of the air flow circuit for the evacuation of the calories produced by a closed combustion hearth, or at the birth thereof, or in a ventilation circuit. previous, at least one heat exchanger of an air conditioning unit or a heat pump comprising at least two heat exchangers, in order to produce at least one flow of air at a suitable temperature, if necessary cooled, especially during periods of hot weather and to bring continuously or occasionally additional calories or frigories to the closed fireplace, especially in cold and cool weather.
- the apparatus described below can be manufactured industrially in series and is commercially ready to install or install or can be built on site from existing elements or components such as a closed fireplace or stove.
- Figure 1 shows a first embodiment according to which, the heating and air conditioning apparatus according to the present invention is formed on site in the room or room.
- a closed hearth chimney located in the room or space to be heated or ventilated is associated with at least one exchanger of an air conditioning unit, a part of which may be arranged outside the room or local for example in the cellar of the house or building.
- the heating unit 1 may consist of a chimney 1 'classic, which is composed of a closed fireplace 2 mounted on a tablet 3 itself arranged on a base 4 resting on the slab 5 of the room or room, l set that can be semi recessed in a box 16 masonry.
- the closed hearth 2 is surrounded by a jamb 6 surmounted by a hood 8 forming the upper part of the chimney 1 '.
- a decorative beam 7 may be interposed between the base of the hood 8 and the jamb 6.
- the closed hearth 2 integrates a fairing 17 receiving in its upper part at least one, but preferably several risers and then for evacuation of the heated air 10, for example two, to ensure the rise of the air heating towards the upper ends which open out of the hood 8 through outlet grilles 9.
- the duct or ducts 10 preferably have a bent shape, the angle in the bent portion 15 of said ducts being a function of the inclination of the side walls of the hood 8.
- the closed hearth 2 is fed from the front with solid fuel, usually wood, and the hot air thus produced is conveyed through the hood 8 and evacuated. by the exhaust ducts 10 hot air and diffuse through the grids 9 to warm the room or room and possibly other rooms.
- the air conditioning unit which may be of the reversible type, comprises an external heat exchanger block connected to an internal heat exchanger unit 21 by a known type of duct 22.
- the external exchanger block 20 is disposed outside the house or building to be equipped and the inner exchanger block 21 is preferably placed under the closed firebox 2 and in the example shown in the cellar, under the slab 5 and in correspondence of the chimney placed in the room situated above.
- the inner heat exchanger block 21 will be mounted on a support 23 itself fixed to the ceiling.
- the distance separating it from the chimney 1 ' is reduced and thus it is possible to greatly limit the losses and the consumption.
- the inner heat exchanger block 21 is connected to a flexible sheath 24, the opposite end of which opens at the bottom of the box 16 made of masonry, for ensure the return of warmed air to the room.
- the cooled air will be diffused into the room by means of one, two or more flexible ducts 25 preferably thermally insulated, connected to the upper part of the inner heat exchanger block 21 and opening into the chimney 1 '.
- the outlet ducts 25 of the indoor heat exchanger unit 21 of the air conditioning unit are connected to the exhaust ducts 10 located on the top of the hearth 2 of the chimney. 1 ', by means of a Y-shaped connector 30 which will preferably be disposed at the elbow 15 of one or conduits 10 of the chimney.
- the air conditioning unit can be activated outside the heating periods, by injecting the air cooled by the evaporator of the air conditioner into the hot air outlet ducts of the chimney, this operation being able to be carried out manually or by means of an automatic valve (not shown) associated with the connectors 30 in Y. It will be possible also operate jointly, especially in the case of a reversible air conditioning unit.
- the installation according to the present invention also has the advantage of greatly reducing the sound volume of the air conditioner, and therefore the inconvenience caused to the occupants of the dwelling or room.
- the air conditioner is connected to the heating unit to an installation in which the chimney is replaced by a tiled stove.
- the installation will comprise an air conditioning unit constituted as previously of an outer block 20 and an inner block 21, which is as previously mounted on a support 23 fixed to the ceiling under the slab 5, in correspondence of the heating unit 1, which here consists of a tiled stove 40 or decorative stones disposed in the room or room.
- the tiled stove 40 is placed on a base 41 itself placed on the slab 5 of the room.
- the assembly may also comprise a wood boiler 42 arranged in the cellar, under the slab 5, and comprising a loading door 43 and a heat recovery unit 44.
- An air return duct 45 passing on the side of the boiler 42 opens at the base of the base 41 of the stove 40.
- the heat emitted by the boiler 42 rises and is recovered in two ducts 10 'from two openings 46 formed in the portion of the ceiling situated above the boiler and whose opposite ends open into the stove 40 after having crossed the slab 5.
- the indoor exchanger block 21 of the air conditioning unit is connected to one or several ducts 10 'connecting the boiler 42 and the stove 40 via two flexible ducts 25'.
- junction between the duct or ducts 10 'and the flexible ducts 25' is effected as in the previous variant by means of Y-shaped connectors 30 '.
- FIG. 3 represents a third embodiment of a heating and air-conditioning installation according to the invention, in which the air-conditioning unit is directly integrated into the heating unit thus forming an entirely constituted apparatus, that is to say say a complete functional unit.
- the air conditioning unit is disposed directly on the slab 5 and under the fireplace 2 of a heating unit 1, which in the example shown consists of a closed fireplace.
- the cooled or tempered air generated at the outlet of the indoor exchanger 21 of the air conditioner passes directly to the sides of the heating unit 1 and the user can thus control the diffusion, depending on the period or cold, cooled, temperate or hot air in all room or room volumes and adjoining rooms, without the need for additional arrangements or grilles in relation classic fireplace heating with heated air distribution.
- the cold air rises along the hearth 2, in the space between the outer wall and the housing of the heating unit, to join the hot air risers 10 connected to the upper part of the hearth 2.
- This embodiment is even simpler than the two previous ones, insofar as it eliminates the need to intervene on both sides of the slab of the room or the room to be equipped.
- the installation may comprise and will preferably comprise a reversible type of air-conditioning unit, which will provide the additional advantage of allowing the volume to be heated without having to activate the heating unit, or by activating it, to provide additional heat if necessary.
- the regulation means 49 can regulate between the temperature of the air heated by the hearth and that of the internal exchanger or exchangers in the case of the mixed regime, that is to say the one in which the two units operate simultaneously, because we can then have an occasional supplemental heat capacity supplement provided by the exchanger of the reversible air conditioning unit then operating in a condenser.
- These regulating means can act in particular on the ventilation unit blowing on the inner exchanger (s) 21 or by suction in order to bring a variability of flow rate to the complementary air flow coming from the one or more of these exchangers.
- These regulation means are connected to different temperature sensors placed in the appropriate places and in particular one or more sensors 49 'of room or room temperature
- control means and these sensors preferably apply to all variants and embodiments and can be used those already existing on the heating unit.
- the invention also relates to a device manufactured in large series in factory or workshop and installed as new equipment in the room or the desired room.
- the apparatus according to the invention is made in a compact form in which all the members and elements constituting this new functional unit are integrated in the same mechanical assembly welded or otherwise assembled.
- This set is compact and ready to be installed and installed in a suitable location or integrating into a housing for all necessary connections including aeraulic.
- FIG. 4 in which it is diagrammatically shown in vertical longitudinal section.
- This device is in the form of a set 50 ready to be installed and installed forming a metal box, all bodied by a soundproofing and thermally insulating cladding.
- the closed hearth 52 for example solid fuel, including wood.
- the closed hearth 52 preferably has a glass door not visible on the fireplace access cut for its fueling and for the vision of the flames.
- the closed hearth 52 is made in this example in the form of a metal box 53 continuing upwards by a drain or smoke box 54 opening outwardly through a central outlet nozzle 55 for its connection to the duct chimney.
- the upper part is surrounded by a recuperator 56 forming an upper recovery chamber opening to the outside for example by the upper wall of the box.
- All the organs of the apparatus are contained in the box 50 which continues upwards and terminates in an upper wall 57 through which the central outlet nozzle 55 passes and a plurality of evacuation nozzles such as 58 of the air at the desired temperature for connection to ducts for example flexible and insulated, transport and distribution of air leaving the device.
- the back of the closed hearth 52 rests directly on the rear wall of the box 50 or away from a recovery interval along which warms the air coming from below.
- All the walls of the box, rear, side 59 and 60, and upper 57 of the box 50 and its front wall above the door are suitably thermally insulated to prevent any loss of heat and conversely any heat input into the heating system. summer or intermediate.
- the closed hearth 52 has in its lower part its own combustion air inlet, for example in the form of a register that can adjustably adjust the combustion air, and in the upper part the duct or smoke box 54, preferably with the recuperator heat 56.
- This recovery chamber 61 is growing in height. The air rises along the latter by heating in contact with the hot walls of the closed hearth 52.
- the recovery chamber 61 extends to the smoke box 54 to recover and evacuate the calories radiated by all the heated parts by the heat of the hearth.
- the flue gas box 54 will preferably have its own internal or external recuperator, for example the recuperator 56 which will open in the upper part of the inner peripheral chamber for recovery. 61 or in another way to be evacuated by the common evacuation nozzles 58 serving as an output to the peripheral recovery chamber 61.
- the assembly 50 terminates downwards by a lower technical block 62 closing at least one exchanger, but preferably two exchangers 63 and 64, of the same air conditioning unit in a receiver interior volume 65 formed in the compartment of the part lower part of the technical block 62.
- the latter forms a mechanical support 66 for the assembly 50 of the apparatus by which it rests on the ground by means of a support plate 67.
- This is the indoor exchanger of the air conditioning unit can become evaporator or condenser in the case of a reversible air conditioning unit. It may be, also as in the example shown in FIG. 4, two parallel heat exchanger elements 63 and 64 of the same air-conditioning unit both fulfilling the same function of either evaporators or condensers in the case reversibility or constituting the two conventional exchangers one evaporator and the other condenser with for example two evacuation routes, suitably separated by a valve or other means.
- This lower technical block 62 is also suitably isolated acoustically and thermally and has on each of its lateral faces to the right of its respective exchanger an air inlet each protected by a filter.
- the exchanger or exchangers 63, 64 are for example each placed on one side of the interior volume 65.
- a ventilation unit 68 for example an air-flow unit operating in suction, is disposed above the interior volume 65. It emerges in the interior volume 65 and its outlet (s) make it possible to establish a flow distributed from a central birth to walk flat along a lower distribution compartment 69 and supplying uniformly and from below the recovery chamber 61 with suitably temperature-controlled air from control means 70.
- the regulation may also include a temperature sensor 74 of the air output of the lower technical block 62.
- the sensor information is taken into account and managed by conventional means to control the operation of the ventilation unit and that of the air conditioning unit.
- the exchanger or exchangers placed in the interior volume 65 are connected to an air conditioning unit with or without a compressor. All the units of this air conditioning unit can be grouped together and placed in the interior volume compartment 65 including the compressor if it exists.
- certain components including the second exchanger and the compressor can be placed outside the device or in another medium than air or buried or otherwise disposed.
- the outlet of the interior volume 65 includes the ventilation unit 68 which is responsible for establishing an adjustable flow of airflow for example by drawing the outside air through at least one or through the two heat exchangers 63 and 64 each placed in front of a air inlet protected by a filter.
- the air path is represented by arrows in FIG. 4 from its entry into the compartment of the lower volume 66 to its outlet through the nozzles evacuation 58.
- the air circuit continues towards the base of the hearth where it is directed directly to the peripheral recovery chamber 61 into which it enters and from which it is discharged through the outlet duct or ducts.
- the fresh, temperate or hot air transported by the exhaust ducts is distributed in the room or room and out at the desired temperature by mouths provided with grilles, but can be brought by other ducts in other rooms adjacent or more distant in which it diffuses through adapted mouths.
- sheaths can also be grafted onto an existing ventilation network or to be built in the house or building.
- the volume 66 of the lower technical unit may also contain the compressor of the air conditioning unit and even, thanks to a sufficient thermal insulation and one or more flow control valves, the other exchanger acting as evaporator or condenser as appropriate for a reversible air conditioning unit.
- the temperature of the air leaving the lower volume 66 can be measured by a sensor 74 and then compared to the temperature of the air outside the hearth 2 by the sensor 72 or that of the fumes or any other reflecting the appearance of heated to establish a room air temperature regulation of the room or room according to the set temperature given by the occupant (s) by acting on the extra calories or frigories provided by the air conditioning unit .
- This outlet temperature of the lower volume There are two ways to vary this outlet temperature of the lower volume: on the one hand the speed of the ventilation unit and on the other hand the operating point of the air conditioning unit. As will be seen below this possibility will intervene in the case of a mixed regime and in case of use of the air conditioning unit in the closed hearth that is to say when the firepower will be reduced.
- the invention offers this possibility to better regulate the temperature of the room, knowing that this temperature from the only wood heating is quite difficult to maintain constant. This advantage brings and confers unequaled comfort in the framework of the fireplace wood heating.
- the operation of the device is particularly simple. It will be briefly described below.
- the heat exchanger of the reversible air conditioning unit operates as an evaporator and the closed fireplace does not work anymore or very occasionally.
- This evaporator provides a stream of cooled air that rises along the fireplace, to emerge in the upper part by the network of ducts.
- the heat exchanger is used as a condenser providing metered complementary calories or even frigories in the home that can operate at reduced speed.
- the invention makes it possible to cover all these needs. During the day, it is enough to operate the exchanger of the air conditioning unit in evaporator to cool the air or to temper it compared to that which produces the fireplace at reduced pace. In the evening and in the morning, it is enough to operate the exchanger of the air conditioning unit in condenser to produce air at suitable temperature without needing to light the fireplace.
- this device is useful in all cases to bring the desired atmosphere comfort. It will provide according to the desires or needs, air at the ideal room temperature and this from a single device located inside the room or room.
- the solution proposed by the invention is easily transferable to an installation in which a wood boiler is integrated into a tiled stove, the heating unit is then no longer dissociated.
- the stove will then have on the front a loading door to feed the wood boiler and a hole on the front for hot air outlet, and the rear part of a heat recovery.
- connection between the air conditioning unit located in the cellar and the stove will be achieved by means of two flexible ducts running at the rear of the stove and opening into an upper box with an opening for the evacuation of cold air.
- the air conditioning unit is a compressor, it can be placed inside the installation or the appliance.
- the other exchanger it can be placed outside or inside the room or the room or house or building in which the heating unit is located.
- the exchanger (s) external to the apparatus are placed in the most appropriate locations or environments, indoors, outdoors, in air, in water, buried or otherwise arranged.
- the air conditioning unit may be of the heat pump type or any type of heat energy transfer means with one or more exchangers in the air, in the water or buried.
