Damit ist das Werkzeug 8 aus seiner in der Schutz- und Führungseinrichtung 1 angeordneten Stellung (Figur 5) auf unterschiedliche Weise in eine Stellung überführbar, die sich dadurch kennzeichnet, dass das Werkzeug 8 bzw. dessen Antriebswelle 9 jede Position in einem in Figur 8 dargestellten Quadranten Q einnehmen kann. Dabei ist es nicht erforderlich, dass die Reihenfolge der Bewegungsabläufe eingehalten wird. In dem Quadranten Q ist durch beliebiges Verfahren des Halteelements 17 in Pfeilrichtung 12 und/oder in Pfeilrichtung 13 jede Position erzielbar.In FIG. 8 an extreme position of the tool 8 is shown. Claims (9)

  1. Protective and guide device for mounting on a drive unit for cutting and/or grinding materials, in particular for cutting out windows, doors and the like fitted in masonry, the protective and guide device consisting of
    - an essentially hollow housing having a rotating tool in the form of a cutting disc, abrasive disc or the like, and
    - a translational degree of freedom between housing and tool, such that the tool can be displaced relative to the housing, and
    - an outlet opening through which the tool can pass at least partly,
    characterized in that
    - at least one further translational degree of freedom, independent of the one translational degree of freedom, is provided between housing (1) and tool (8), and
    - the outlet opening (6) has two regions, namely a first region (B1) and a further region (B2), the longitudinal extent of the first region (B1) of the outlet opening (6) being arranged at an angle to the longitudinal extent of the further region (B2),
    such that the tool (8) can optionally pass through
    - the first region (B1),
    - the further region (B2), or
    - both regions (B1 and B2).
  2. Protective and guide device according to Claim 1, characterized in that at least one rotational degree of freedom is provided between protective and guide device (1) and tool (8).
  3. Protective and guide device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that at least one degree of freedom can be fixed.
  4. Protective and guide device according to Claim 1, characterized in that two links (K12, K13) independent of one another are provided for realizing the translational degrees of freedom, the links (K12, K13) being arranged perpendicularly to one another.

    such that the tool (8) can optionally pass through
    - the first region (B1),
    - the further region (B2), or
    - both regions (B1 and B2).
  9. Apparatus according to Claim 8, characterized in that it comprises a protective and guide device (1) according to at least one of Claims 2 to 7.
